If GM got the rights to use it, I could see them take the Skateboard platform and spread it across the whole family. Then maybe if the contract was done for reverse use, Rivian could pick up the HD version that GM applied to it and use it. Course I love to Dream of where we will go with EVs.

GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in General Motors
I totally agree, but with the marketing invested in CT, maybe keep ICE on alpha numeric and with the new EV product line go all names again. That I think would be the best for Cadillac moving forward. -
Lincoln News: Lincoln Corsair to get Plug-In Option
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Lincoln
As long as they keep them looking truly different, if Ford falls back on old lazyness of badge engineering it could end up being very ugly to the Lincoln Line. I would rather hope they focus on being Unique and luxury, leave off road to Ford. -
With Hybrid Power Trains and powerful Turbo small engines, this is understandable and really I see no need for the V12 and in many cases V8 engines. Sad as I like the Torque of a V8 over a Turbo 4 or 6 engine. More excited when they show off the power of the Pure Electric motor for these cars. With 700 to 800 HP electric motors that have been shown, I would expect the S-Class to have the power of the Tesla Roadster 2.0 in that ubber luxury sedan first.

Volvo News: Volvo Upgrades Hybrid Powertrains; Refreshes XC90

Lovely Station Wagon on Steroids. Reminds me of the general shape of the first SRX. Love what I am seeing, nice Thors Hammer touch on the front. Very exciting to see. -
We are moving finally to our single global domain dell.com as the Legacy side of EMC and Dell go away over this whole year. One of the first deaths that everyone was happy was the removal of IE. Lucky for me we are allowed Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Opera as our browsers of choice. The few people on Apple laptops have all been informed they have to exchange them with Dell XPS notebooks by the end of the year. Not many of them are happy about it, but understandable that Dell does not want to support Mac. lol I am very happy with Opera and liking it on both work and home systems.

That is interesting as I never see any of the Seniors in the TSA Pre at SeaTac airport here and it is one of the top 5 or 3 busiest airports in the nation now. I honestly love the less than 5 min to go from dropping my bag off with Alaska and then on the other side going to get food, water, snacks for the flight. Considering the Global one for international flying as I hear from coworkers how fast that is too especially when coming back into the US. Yet I only seem to travel every couple of years internationally.

Agreed, not a 5th wheel right away, but I could see a HD version of their skateboard concept doing that and this aux battery pack adding the much needed juice.

GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in General Motors
So maybe the CT6 and CT8 on VSS with CT5 & 4 on Alpha till the 6 & 8 are up to speed and then refresh 4 & 5 to VSS? -
GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve

Good News, hopefully they will find use on the BEV3 platform to keep the plant going even longer. -
That is cool, just like a aux fuel tank for fueling tractors or a tool chest, having it sit in the bed with the power to tow, that would be a smart add on for 5th wheel / trailer towing. Wonder what the added range is?

BMW & MB car service in Seattle is Meh at best. Uber and Lyft still beat them out.

Agree, I seem to bounce around much faster than chrome or firefox has been lately. I am much happier using Opera.

TSA Pre is the only way to fly now. I will never give it up.

Agree, the risk factor of Ford is above my investing style.

Tesla Model 3 "Recommended" Rating Rescinded by Consumer Reports
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Tesla
CR just released their report of where all the auto makers stand in their Brand Report Card. Pretty Interesting, some I agree with, others I clearly do not. https://www.consumerreports.org/cars-driving/which-car-brands-make-the-best-vehicles/- 25 replies

Talk about an awesome assortment of some great cars I would love to own. I believe almost every member of C&G will have one here they could love. I would still love to have a Burgundy 1987 Monte Carlo Areocoupe SS with T tops like this one that was for sale a few years back.
-
This one always stuck in my head. Maybe due to my love of the TV show Fantasy Island, but ya gotta love the way he talked to you through the TV. Course this was my favorite Spoof too of this commercial: Loved this review from my time and what made me fall in love with the mid 1980's Monte Carlo SS. Especially the Areo version.

Lincoln News: Lincoln Corsair to get Plug-In Option
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Lincoln
Thank you, this is great news to see them finally build a consistent family look and feel. While not a fan of the dash, I will say that Liconln is moving much faster than Cadillac with building a family of desirable looking CUVs. -
Tesla Model 3 "Recommended" Rating Rescinded by Consumer Reports
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Tesla
Rivian is building brand awareness based on normal people lifestyle something Tesla has NOT achieved. Plus you also have the fact that Tesla has REMOVED their $35,000 car option from the web site and configuration system. This has raised many concerns among the $1,000 reservation holders. Lots of stories from various sites on this: https://electrek.co/2019/02/18/tesla-standard-model-3-battery-website-fans-panic/ https://motorlinks-wp.azurewebsites.net/2019/02/18/tesla-removes-any-mention-of-standard-model-3-battery-from-website-fans-panic/ https://www.eqmagpro.com/tesla-removes-any-mention-of-standard-model-3-battery-from-website-fans-panic/ Even YouTube has a story on it:- 25 replies

Very cool, ever see the Blast freezers in work where they mist a seasalt brine over the fresh seafood as it enters one end of the unit and on the other only 15 to 20 seconds later it comes out frozen hard and coated in the salt water keeping it very fresh tasting. The units are freaky amazing and fast and I have also seen a few idiots that got injured by them. I am planning a remodel of my house and will put on a heat pump as a more efficient temp and humidity control unit over an AC unit. What kind of commercial refrigeration did you work on?

Love that Green, WOW! Pass on the Diesel, cool spec's, but Pass, would rather take a gas or better yet Hybrid / EV version. Dash looks dated to me and the Nav screen is an after thought again and looks out of place. I can just see so many of these getting broken off as people reach for other stuff. Nice proportions of the side and front. I like the look, but the rear makes me think blah German, is it BMW, MB or Audi. They all seem to have this same very generic look. Sad,
