  1. Hello McFly, The Chassis can handle more than 300 lb-ft of Torque. GM just has not built the motor tranny combo to go above that as you pointed out, they have not exceeded above their potential yet! Valid point and thank you my friend you are right, I was thinking myself with my comment and should have clarified it. Many of us I think tend to think of ourselves and leave comments that are very wide open to interpretation. We all should clarify ourselves versus the market. They have Excitement that others will find, but for myself not yet!
  2. Same with me, the startups and small companies we all just pitched in to help move, but here at my current Dell Job, they reorganized the whole building to get teams back together and we were told we could not move any of our stuff once packed up as that was the outside movers job and had to wait for them to come in and move the whole building over the weekend which included a Friday. I am thinking in this regards it was Dell wanting to minimize potential injury on those not in shape to life. At Brocade, I was visiting the San Jose HQ and was doing work in the datacenter and we needed to get stuff re-racked, I did it all and then realized we had no power above us in the Star Line system where we were moved too. I grabbed a wrench and moved the star line box's and then got written up by the local facilities folks as in California you have to use a unionized certified electrician to move these 90 degree twist boxes and plug in the power cords from the rack. Lucky for me, I got the write up removed as the did not know I was from Washington State and did not know about the california requirements since in the data center here we just do all the work ourselves and no requirement to have over paid electricians plug in a server. That is the stupidity that Unions have brought in this modern 21st century day to slowing down productivity.
  3. Yes, Yes they are, just look at how well the NON-Union Auto plants are doing in this country. Yes companies have learned, does not mean we take our eye off of them, but we do not have kids working, no benefits and all the other crap that happened. Unions had their place but in a higher educated society, unions are not needed and that in itself proves why industries like the High Tech industry has not been unionized. Many others do not need it either. Unions feed off the lesser educated work force taking their hard earned money. We are already protected and covered by modern laws that give us the same rights the Unions want to take your money for saying they will secure.
  4. Blackwing is exciting, but not in an Escalade ESV yet that we know of. CT5-V is exciting but not released yet nor will it fit me. I am not cramming my size into a car, Cadillac does not have a luxury pickup anymore and the new Escalade is just Meh on the exterior. So NO, nothing exciting to get me to spend money outside of service on my existing fleet.
  5. Seems EV Charge Point and NATSO (National Association of Truck Stop Owners) have come to terms to install 4,000 rapid charge charge-points across America at the truck stops. This will be also incorporate Appendix D of the VW settlement of matching the investment and charge points. So technically they could end up with double or 8,000 charge points at the truck stops. Chargepoint will be project managing this over the next decade for completion by 2030. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/chargepoint-and-truck-stop-owners-partner-on-ev-charging/
  6. Too True, Cadillac just has nothing exciting right now that is WOW, Gotta spend my hard earned money on.
  7. I hope this concept comes back out, would love this as an AWD EV.
  8. GM Idiot management for the US, should have NEVER built Saturn, all those ideas of Auto's should have been done under the Chevrolet label. Oldsmobile and Buick should have been merged back in the 70's to be one label GMC and Pontiac should also have been merged as a mid level competition to Chevrolet. Hummer was correct in the packaging, but a mistake in that it should be like it is now, a package label under GMC. Holden was an awesome engineering company that built some amazing auto's. GM FAILED to bring their version of the El Camino to the US along with other lines to help reduce costs. GM management failed to properly reinvest in markets around the world and failed to make Europe profitable when they could instead using it to off load costs and failures done in the US on Europe. Truly some piss poor mgmt. over the last 40 years at GM.
  9. Latest Tear down of a brand new Tesla 3 shows that Tesla has 6 years on VW or Toyota in EV design / technology. https://electrek.co/2020/02/17/tesla-teardown-6-years-lead-over-toyota-vw/ An interesting read about supply chain and how Nikkie is saying that they auto companies worry about the parts suppliers. Right, GM already moved to an AI based high speed nervous system that does not have multiple ECU's, as such they are probably the most to be on par with Tesla. With Norway being so EV heavy, fuel station owners are converging to see how they are able to stay open and make a profit. https://electrek.co/2020/02/17/fuel-retail-chains-are-visiting-norway-to-ponder-a-future-when-gas-stations-dont-exist/
  10. Is this like on regular comcast tv lines or over the air? I honestly do not watch local tv stations and only use stream services of commercial free content. As such, I do not see anything from Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick or GMC, yet I see the German and Asian auto companies on the web all the time. I am thinking GM is out of touch with the work force that embraces all things computers.
  11. Yes, totally agree, we will not see tires like that in our life time. All those auto's would crush up against your B-59 Tank!
  12. Gotta love interesting engineering videos of tech that we will probably never see. Hankook adjustable on the fly tires.
  13. GM do you hear the Banshee, it has been screaming for the last 3yrs since you killed local production. There was nothing to allow you to revive Holden. It was a slow hemorrhaging death. R.I.P. Holden, you will be missed as you made amazing products!
  14. This is where Cadillac needs to increase the Marketing as I saw tons of MB, BMW and Audi ads over xmas talking about the whole family. Yet I have yet to see any big marketing of Cadillac. Also, how about some realistic drive events for the masses, not just special by invitation only drive events. Cadillac is missing key marketing, ads, experience by having conquest drive events to see why they have superior auto's. So much can be done, so little is being done.
  15. Living in a state that is all Green energy production and has an ugly black eye with the Tri-City Hanford Nuclear processing plant which has plenty of Nuclear waste, I get the waste issue is huge. We do have a way to nutralize it, but need more money to build bigger furnaces that changes the Nuclear Waste liquid into a solid glass that can then safely be buried under ground. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanford_Site https://www.britannica.com/topic/Hanford-Engineer-Works https://www.hanford.gov/ https://www.livescience.com/62623-radioactive-waste-trapped-in-glass.html https://www.hanfordvitplant.com/ Currently we have the Nations 56 million gallons of Nuclear waste sitting in above ground and under ground tanks that are starting to leak. As such, we do need to figure out a way to address the Nuclear waste before we move forward with building more Nuclear plants. Am I glowing yet?
  16. Thank you for posting this. All three mentioned are nuts! I am all for reducing global warming, but Nuclear and Natural Gas has contributed big time to this by killing off Coal which is even worse. Wind, Solar and Hydro is Great, but cannot solve everyone's need for power and as such, Nuclear and Natural Gas are good alternatives till we perfect the efficiencies of Solar, Wind and Hydro. The real estate is an excellent area that has not been discussed as much as it should. We also have not really realized the power that can be harnessed by using solar collection in space and then focused beams of energy down to earth to be used by the population. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space-based_solar_power https://www.energy.gov/articles/space-based-solar-power Some additional interesting food for thought.
  17. Me Too, I love a lovely Pussy Cat, that is why I am married! ?
  18. Cracking up over this ford.
  19. Union BS is what has happened to people wanting to be paid to wait around and do nothing till the person responsible for picking up one item does their job first before the second one does there. The inefficient unions have gone from the early days of helping people to making them lazy as costs go crazy up assigning a job to one person and everyone waiting for them first. It is pathetic how lazy basic manual labor has become in the last 40 years due to corrupt labor unions. I can believe that, dogs love even when you yell at them. Cats, too independent and focused on licking themselves.

  21. Ya know that type of stupid thinking is what has hurt the rest of Cadillac. A german idiot trying to make Cadillac like the germans. Will never happen and cannot come fast enough to dump the ICE German bullshit names and back to real American Names on the EVs.
  22. Yes we have had plenty of Tahoe, Yukons, Escalades that have had dry engine knock and oil issues after being hard tested. Real world will always show what was missed in the QA process.
  23. Yea, I do wonder what all is going on as Drew has been way too quiet.
  24. Yes, my son when he bought his Samsung Qled 75" Q8 TV he also bought from Costco at the time the Bose Lifestyle speaker system. They install very easy and other than power, the wireless system works well so your able to put the bass anywhere. For his place, more than loud enough. Update, was wondering who else has come out with wireless speakers and I see lots of options now. Worth it to consider just having power where the speakers are and wireless connections for clean easy use. Will look into this more when I upgrade my home theater system. https://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/best-wireless-speakers/
