  1. Mercedes-benz invited a few journalist to their HQ for a preview of their electric vehicle lineup that will be shown off at the German Auto show. https://electrek.co/2019/09/05/mercedes-electric-eqc-eqv-eactros/ I have to say I do like what I see for the EQC. There are a series of pictures both inside and out at the link above. I like what I see and that at least it has some interior storage in the back. MB says this is a Tesla Y competitor. Also, found out that the Smartcar and B-Class EV had Tesla Powertrains. Tesla also admits if it was not for the $50 million investment from MB, Tesla would not exist today. MB sold off their share a little over a year ago for $780 million. Not bad on an original $50 million investment to gain $730 million on it. They do mention that Tesla and MB are considering a joint Sprinter EV van to be sold by Tesla. Sounds like a rebadge of the current released EV Sprinter van.
  2. Yea, sharp looking update for the little bugger, but clearly quality problems. As I posted in the August 2019 Auto spotted thread, had a new one with no plates yet in front of me and they braked, left side came on before right side and cyclops center light and the cyclops light only half the LED came on and then the other did. Wife asked me if that was supposed to do that and I said no. braking lights having electrical gremlins makes me wonder about the whole auto. Not a good sign that they are reliable.
  3. Cool, thanks will text him as he was wondering about it.
  4. Totally agree, I know a coworker who took advantage of the cheap lease deals and got a really nice Jeep GC lease at 15K a year for miles and he is half way through his 3rd year, loves his jeep but is at 54K miles already as he loves driving and camping. Clearly buying would have been better than leasing. He is going to buy the jeep at the end of the lease and is hoping to not get dinged for the miles. Since I have never leased, not sure how it works out when you have high miles but want to buy it then. Any idea?
  5. Came out of 24hr fitness to find this near my Durango.
  6. Then that would remove 1/3rd of MB product line since they have many products that do not compete except as a badge snob.
  7. @surreal1272 I get the point you making, yet keep in mind the Trailblazer SS was limited production so not the millions of lemming trailblazers that were built. It is wider far more custom since it is an SUV body on a Corvette. Platinum ESV also were not that common in 2006 compared to all the other standard non esv Escalades. Hummer got a bad rap by the eco nuts, but while they were a in your face SUV, you still did not see many and even today, very rare to find them. Durango was a mass produced SUV, but most people did not know that the RT in 2000 was a limited production AWD, only AWD Durango at that time with the big 5.9L V8. THat is the difference is that yes those names have plenty of mass produced versions, but there were specific trim levels that were limited or people for the most part did not buy due to MPG / Price. To me my friend, those are far rarer than the lemmings auto's of the era I bought them in.
  8. WOW, No I had not ever seen this or hear about it, thanks for the video. Still ugly to me, but WOW, that is AMAZING engineering. Love it! Love the off the cliff test and the Suicide doors still work!
  9. Styling is very subjective, what brand is this hideous design?
  10. Glad you do, that at least means that some diverse style is being made to appeal to folks.
  11. The New Supera is a Nightmare of style. That would be a Hard Pass Ghost Rider!
  12. @Anthony Fongaro Did you actually take a Chevrolet BOLT for a test drive and if so, did you put it in Performance mode? Would like to know what you thought. My wife and I both test drove one and if it was not for the Black and White dash, she would have said yes to buying one for her to drive and do her job. The performance mode is addictive as it really moves the BOLT along fast, faster than most people realize. You still end up with 200+ miles of range in Performance mode. Also, I am finding plenty of them on the market for around $24-25K with low miles being in the upper teens to low 30 K for miles. Most are the fully loaded Premier version too. Over all I would say your spot on in regards to your feelings about it and why more people have not gone the EV route yet, they are still waiting for an EV that is more inline with traditional ICE auto's.
  13. Current Deals on this ugly little CUV in the PNW.
  14. I CAN UP VOTE THIS 1 MILLION times as my new Head unit in the SS has both support and the Google Maps with voice enabled ROCKS!
  15. Sadly, NOTHING Chevrolet builds right now inspires me to want to own something except one which I have never fit into as an adult. The Corvette is the only thing I still Love, Wish Corvette had a Performance SUV as I would go for that, but the current style of all their auto's SUCK excluding the corvette which as I stated, I CANNOT FIT INTO! ?
  16. To me there is nothing inspiring about Toyota's product line. From Style to interior layout, materials used, just a lemming mobile that does nothing to make me want to buy. This is built for those that just want to fit in and follow everyone else. Yes that is not a bad thing from a business that is all about making billions, but I like something that makes more of a statement. Hence the reason I own an AWD Trailblazer SS, Durango RT, Hummer, Escalade ESV Platinum, etc. I choose my own path and that is not to follow the herd.
  17. Chevrolet Bolts are coming back from their 3yr leases and some awesome deals on low mileage Bolts fully loaded. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=521621091&zip=98043&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D98043%26listingTypes%3DUSED%2CCERTIFIED%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26marketExtension%3Don%26modelCodeList%3DCHEBOLT%26makeCodeList%3DCHEV%26searchRadius%3D50&listingTypes=USED%2CCERTIFIED&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&modelCodeList=CHEBOLT&makeCodeList=CHEV&searchRadius=50&makeCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=CHEBOLT&digitalRetail=true&clickType=listing $27,491 for a 2017 Chevrolet bolt that has 11,224 miles on it. 18. Such an underwhelming product, true Lemming mobile.
  19. Did not know they had changed that much, thank you for posting about it, very good to know.
  20. Over all just Meh!, but I do think the nose is better, the rear tail lights remind me of the old Lincoln Navigator. The interior is just another refresh that neither excites me or bores me. Just Meh!
  21. This is so true of the states that follow California CARB. They are figuring in an equal gas tax fee to your yearly auto registration. Washington state for EVs adds a $150.00 fee onto your auto registration and $75 on top of Hybrids. The off set to this as some said this is higher than what ICE only auto's pay in gas tax over a 10yr life is that we have no sales tax on EVs and reduced on Hybrid. https://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/altfuelexemptions.html On August 1, 2019, the sales and use tax exemption was reinstated for the sales of: vehicles powered by a clean alternative fuel certain plug-in hybrids The exemption applies to dealer and private sales of new, used, and leased vehicles sold on or after August 1, 2019. New vehicle transactions must not exceed $45,000 in price or lease payments. Used vehicles transactions must not exceed $30,000 in price or lease payments. These price thresholds include both the cost of the vehicle and the value of your trade-in, if applicable. For example: If the cost of a new vehicle is $48,000, and the value of your trade-in is worth $6,000, you can't receive the tax exemption. Even though the trade-in brought the cost down to $42,000, the new vehicle was still worth over the $45,000 limit. You cannot use a trade-in to lower the price of a vehicle to meet the exemption limits.
  22. Since they are building the foundation to attach the apps from the play store, just hope they do not F it up in the way it connects and works. GM and Ford both have a record of taking something good from another vendor and messing it up!
  23. Yet like all things, gotta start some where and this is the start.
