  1. One this makes sense as a common Hybrid / EV platform will allow a big reduction in costs compared to ICE platforms. Two Maeratis as well as all Italian auto's suck from a quality standpoint and yet that is my personal opinion based on real world experience with past autos from the brand. Reviews seem to also hold up to this. Three, FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE right out of the gate. WHY, Maeratis is saying the first EV will be a Car. HELLO McFly, anyone listening? Cars are pas say as the market has spoken and CUV/SUV/Trucks is where the focus needs to be. Honestly, does the FCA board not look at the market trends of where sales are at? Must be a bunch of baby boomer idiots on the board to allow the money waste on an EV car. ?
  2. Consolidation is what the auto company needs and this appears to me to be a first step in that direction. I wonder how it would be viewed here in America, I am sure there are those that would be yelling the Anti-trust crusade against this.
  3. Long ways to go but as multiple stories all over say, 67 days in 1970 from September 14th to November 23rd 1970. Be interesting to see what they do with the bonus program as GM paid every worker $1,000 per Billion dollars earned gross. That allowed GM to pay out a $10,750 bonus check last year. This year they were on target to break $11,000 on par with the last 2 years, but now with the strike, I am sure this will be much less as they also will figure in the signage bonus to accept the new contract. Anyone know if they have settled on a 3 or 5yr contract? I know GM was wanting a 5yr, but everything in the news seems to imply a 3yr is the focus.
  4. Hopefully GM is not giving into too many demands as they are already the best they have.
  5. I thought GM had a few other plants that were closing down also than just this one that got idled?
  6. This is going to get much worse and the working class that voted for this stupidity thinking it would make UK stronger are now realizing the narrow mindedness of the politicians who went after personal projects for the few over the good of the many. This is going to hurt the UK for a long long time.
  7. That is the best looking Chevrolet version of that ugly mug truck yet. Would have won over more people if they had offered these packages from the start rather than the ugly Chromed versions.
  8. We'll lately, no excuse for some of the crappy approach to GM's auto's and sucky packages of options.
  9. Seems there is not much more GM can offer considering that the UAW is the best paid employees in the auto industry according to this story. https://www.foxbusiness.com/industrials/gm-union-expectations-employees-compensation-uaw Wonder how long this strike will go on. ?
  10. I guess so since I do have mostly GM auto's, but then I keep my hand in others too as the family has 2 dodges and 1 jeep. ?
  11. Some how I DOUBT it that he will make them " faster, better and smarter." He is for sure no 6 million dollar man and VW needs a true visionary not a follower to help them move forward after Dieselgate.
  12. True, I would agree with that statement that it will not win over any Ford, Chevrolet, GMC or RAM fans, but for the asian fans, it should do better than the current model on the lots.
  13. Over all a nice looking truck that clearly copied nuances from Ford. The first silver / wood dash looks dated and cheap to me. The second all black dash with red stiching and black chrome accents I really like. Looks good. Over all should sell well for them.
  14. This looks so much better than the silver trim looking dash which actually looks dated and cheap to me.
  15. Yup, the Mazda 6 get the ricer treatment here in the PNW just as much as the Miata. I think it is a culture thing of the Asian community here. You also see ricer Acura's, Toyota's, Seems if it is from Japan, they get the fart can, fast n furious applied graphics and some attempt at tune. They are funny, Thank you, never considered myself a Fanboy, but ok, if that is what you want to call it. ?
  16. I tend to think the Insurance business knows that young men can afford a used Miata and will attempt to make it a street racer with a fart can attached and as such charge more than the older men who can afford the corvette.
  17. I would totally agree, I do not see the need for a Smart or Fiat size, but I think the Rogue EV for inner city would work.
  18. Tesla seems to be gearing up to start charging for connectivity with a cap at 50GB a month. https://electrek.co/2019/09/24/tesla-monitoring-data-charge-connectivity/ We finally have a 168 mile rang EV auto for a asking price of $8,700 dollars. Catch is that to buy this Renault K-ZE CUV electric auto you have to go to china. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/renault-k-ze-ev-goes-on-sale-for-8700/
  19. Canoo https://www.canoo.com/ has come out of skunk works mode to show off their low cost people mover EV. According to electrek with a fresh $1 billion in funding they will do a subscription service only of their vans which look like a modern take on the old VW microbus. https://electrek.co/2019/09/25/canoo-electric-vehicle-futuristic-subscription/#more-104351
  20. Rivian has added voice control to their R1T / R1S for opening up their Frunk. https://twitter.com/EdLudlow/status/1176890257360318464 https://t.co/92NlH2cg6S
  21. Ignore it! That is just branches breaking against the Jeep! Or is that the Jeep breaking against the branches? ? FCA can never tell. ?
  22. I am very excited to see all the new EVs coming out and see how they compare to their ICE counter parts.
  23. But are you thick with muscles? That is where I run into space issues, is most sports cars and the Corvette seems to be no different is not built for thick, big guys. My sports / suit jacket is a 60, so my shoulders tend to have issues also. Trust me you would hate to be in the seat next to me on a plane. I eat up space faster than a Ferrari attempting to catch the tail lights of a ZR1 Corvette.
  24. All kids need discipline! ?
