  1. They stole their name, they should sue! :P
  2. If I was to do a muscle car garage, it would have to be like this for the 5 auto's. 69 GTO Judge Early 70's Chevelle SS Convertible 77 Pontiac Can Am 1986 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe Maroon 1996 Imapla SS There is my Full size GM Muscle Car Garage.
  3. I thought that is what the Pussy Cat was for, keeping them at bay? ?
  4. As much as SMK thinks everything needs to be turbo'd and dual over head cams, etc. etc. etc. GM could if they really wanted to just drop in their lovely supercharged V8 into the Escalade and call it a V and be done for the day. People would pay a decent $25K more for a current Escalade with that motor and have it called a V.
  5. @oldshurst442 +1,000,000 I also have been doing some serious sole searching in regards to the Blackwing, the loss of an Escalade V and why oh why is GM doing this when they do not have an EV out yet to challenge Tesla or anyone else. Building space so that upon the Escalade EV V and others, they will be considered by those that are already thinking Green or have already thought green but are not buying as what they want is not there. EV's I suspect will do a Hockey Stick Sales spike once choices are available. Seems 2023 is going to be the big year to prove me right or wrong.
  6. I will as you expected DISAGREE with you as a wide range of options is EXACTLY what is Missing. More people are wanting less maintenance and easier fueling than you think, the options are just not there yet. It will be and I suspect we will see great strides in EV sales in 2023 as more EV options come online.
  7. GM could be thinking that if they need cars in the future, they could bring them back quickly from China. My gut tells me that the BEV3 platform very well could support a wide range of EV cars as well as CUVs and trucks.
  8. +1,000,000 well said, as a GM fan and a Heavy Cadillac buyer, recently they have nothing to really excite me and while the CT6 Blackwing is exciting, before I can even see one in person and try it out, they appear to be killing it. You hit the nail on the head surreal1272 that all businesses are in the business to make money, some just pay attention to the little details that actually make more money than playing politics and kissing ass.
  9. This was the current CX9? Yes I know some are longer body, shorter legs or long legs, shorter body. I actually am in the middle with body length equal to leg length and I guess my 5" extra height makes a big difference to me as I could not fit in the front passenger seat as it did not go back or go down as much as the drivers seat. I had to have the drivers seat all the way down and back to fit into the CX9. The racked windshield also makes it much hard to get into the auto as you have to bend the head down and put your butt in before pulling legs and head into the auto. Fact is we all have different body types and those that know me as a large body building 6'6" tall man knows pretty much all Asian auto's fit smaller people. Here is a picture of me and my family. Wife, daughter and Son all 5'8" and then me at 6'6". Except for my daughter, everyone has broad shoulders.
  10. I am sure this will be a hit with Mazda fans and those 5'8" tall or shorter. I would be interested to know if they still limit the front passenger seat in range of movement compared to the drivers seat. That was a deal breaker for me on a 2 week rental as I could not let the wife drive as I could not fit in the front seat. Mazda focuses on short people and gets away with plenty of shortcuts in making it a truly usable auto. Seems like a year later you still have the same weaknesses. Thank you Bill for taking it to task and writing it up, very interesting to read.
  11. @regfootball Sadly cost and the lack of many 3rd world places that cannot afford large engines plus China moving to EV focus will dictate what you get in an auto. The US is no longer the worlds biggest market and growth is not here anymore. Poor leadership is a problem. You can blame it on Mary at GM for going after profits and keeping the lights on or you can blame the silent generation and younger generations for instant gratification that has moved to debt loaded life's where they cannot afford to buy an auto anymore. Blame the political lack of leadership. Many things to blame, but sadly the time has come for change and that change will move many into uncomfortable choices because change is the hardest for humanity to take when it affects a passion of theirs.
  12. CT6 Blackwing would be a good CPO. Too bad short sighted planning by GM is killing all the good stuff.
  13. I think for the most part manual transmissions will be gone by 2030 if not earlier.
  14. They can join the cheap ass priced S-Class cars which seem to sit and only move with huge incentives or into fleet sales.
  15. I know for a fact that for my family, it WILL NOT be a sedan.
  16. Should help to bring down the costs as they protect the profits with bringing out the EV Trucks and SUVs.
  17. China only, so that to me is not global, GM seems to be repeating mistakes they made here in the US. Sad, very sad!
  18. Just another reason to NOT buy BMW. Behind in so many ways compared to the rest of the industry.
  19. RIP CT6, killed by GM's board room bean counters before your time really was up and not able to show what you could bring to the world globally. RIP CT6 This truly keeps me in SUVs as the 4 & 5 are just too small. This approach at GM is what could make my next auto purchase a non-gm product.
  20. I would love a two door Escalade at my point in life, no need for 4 doors as I do not carry anyone other than the wife pretty much now. Something like this would do: But smaller rims as I hate these runflat rims/tires that ride like shit.
  21. After all they have to stay on that sugar high as Life is sweet!
  22. Seems the T-Roc from VW has entered production finally. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/12/04/volkswagen-t-roc-cabriolet-production/ BMW seems to not get many to pay for Apple auto play on a recurring bases, as such all 2019 and 2020 models moving forward will now have it as normal free feature. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/12/04/bmw-free-apple-carplay/
  23. Seems that Carlos Tavares who has turned around PSA from money loosing to money making might be the right guy to turn around Alfa to be a money maker than a money sucker. Per the following story, it seems Alfa sales have fallen 42% in Europe, 27% down in US and FCA head Mike Manley who succeeded Marchionne realized that Marchionne's 3rd and final attempt to grow and revitalize Alfa was not going to happen. At this point, Alfa will have 2 EVs by 2022 as 2023 models to bring Alfa to 4 models not the 7 that Marchionne had stated. Even then, it might not be enough to save Alfa. https://www.autonews.com/blogs/alfa-romeo-could-be-tavares-toughest-turnaround Tavares is a true Car Guy who races on weekends and has stated that some plateforms might be too expensive to continue, as such he is not afraid to make the hard decisions once reviews of all product lines are done. At this time, no product line will be discontinued at this time during the merge. Full reviews of all product lines will be done, assessed on value and profits before any changes will happen. Travares has said that Alfa has failed to challange the luxury brands of Germany and will have to be assessed on where it really belongs.
  24. Seems GM is cutting 800 jobs to retool for the pickup and van EVs at the detroit plant. https://www.autonews.com/manufacturing/gm-cutting-800-jobs-retool-detroit-plant-evs Per the story, QUOTE: As part of a $3 billion investment, GM plans to start building an electric pickup and van at Detroit-Hamtramck. They would be followed by electric versions of the GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade, according to LMC Automotive, a closely watched provider of industry sales and production forecasts. Automotive News reported last month that a lengthy layoff starting in early 2020 would be needed to make the conversion from gasoline-powered sedans to battery-electric trucks. The plant will stop making the Cadillac CT6 in January and the Chevrolet Impala in February. GM gave formal notice of the layoffs in a state-mandated filing Tuesday. Layoffs will begin Feb. 28 for most of the 800 hourly, 50 subsystem and 60 salaried workers affected. Fewer than 40 hourly workers will stay at the plant until March or April.
