  1. Love the builder, cannot wait till we get the performance stuff, but a 3LT corvette in Bronze Metallic with two tone interior is very nice.
  2. February 3rd is the official start of production on the C8. Yet with that stated, there were many new looking C8's that looked to be awaiting delivery to dealerships. https://www.motor1.com/news/396555/chevy-corvettes-on-camera-transport/ Either way while this story shows the first C8 off the assembly line today, as well as the capture of the ones built before this one. I have a bigger question for anyone that might know or have any fact from GM: Will the C8 have their new Electrical Nervous system with over the air updates?
  3. OUCH, Tesla is NOT helping themselves with changing the warranty to avoid fixing their poor fit n finish auto's. Seems they are not responsible for paint issues, rust, seats, controller modules memory issues, battery issues, etc. etc. etc. Man why would anyone want to buy a new auto from them when once it is off the factory floor, they do not want to be responsible for it during the warranty period. PATHETIC. https://insideevs.com/news/396389/tesla-warranty-terms-change/ Ford Engineering is pointing out just how poorly made Tesla auto's are especially the Tesla 3 with the rust issues and more. Mach-e is a better built EV. Read the engineers comments, talk about blasting Tesla for shoddy engineering work. https://insideevs.com/news/396298/ford-mach-e-better-than-tesla/ Canada is Rocking Solid State Battery technology. Very cool stuff. Good People at Hydro Quebec have this battery going into production, be interesting to see which auto company is the first to use it. https://insideevs.com/news/396468/hydro-quebec-goodenough-solid-state-battery/ OUCH Tesla owner turns after light turns yellow to red, SUV runs the Red and hits the Tesla. All caught on dashcam. .
  4. Gotta love Engine swamps. Talk about adding new life to this old tractor with a VW V6 engine swamp. Watch the video, pretty cool. https://www.thedrive.com/news/32059/this-volkswagen-vr6-swapped-tractor-can-plow-a-field-in-no-time
  5. BorgWarner is Buying Delphi Technologies enhancing their electronic portfolio. The all stock deal values Delphi at $3.3 billion with sales last year of $4.36 billion and BorgWarner has $10.17 billion. This will give them a combined $15 billion dollar sales company. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/borgwarner-to-acquire-delphi-technologies-enhancing-its-power-electronics-products/ I do wonder if they are getting the company undervalued at $3.3 Billion since Sales are higher. First Studies are out and they are finding that the added carbon emission from direct injection auto's hurts and does not help our green house emissions and as such are not worth the benefits of MPG. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1126963_gasoline-direct-injection-tech-might-not-be-worth-it-study-suggests Aston Martin fans will be happy to hear that with the recent cash infusion they will be able to increase production, make some product changes to help with their ICE line up. The cash came with a number of changes. First is that the EV product line is pushed out beyond 2025, so nothing will happen by 2022. Aston Martin will add a V6 Hybrid sports Auto and continue to push, improve and expand the ICE product line. https://www.motor1.com/news/396447/aston-martin-delays-lagonda-ev/ Ford New 7.3L V8 can be tuned for 600 HP and fit into the Fox Body Mustangs. Let the engine swapping begin. https://www.thedrive.com/news/32064/fords-new-7-3-l-gas-v-8-can-be-tuned-to-600hp-and-fit-in-a-fox-body-mustang Gotta Love Tank Track GMC Trucks. https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/31897/2020-gmc-sierra-denali-hd-all-mountain-review-its-a-truck-on-tank-tracks-people
  6. Some EV news for today: Seems the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S has far more range than the EPA numbers suggest. Car has 201 EPA range, but they were able to get 287 out of the auto driving in normal mode. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/02/03/2020-porsche-taycan-turbos-range-test/ New GOLF R is running the ID-R power train and setting records. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/01/31/vw-e-performance-golf-r-concept-previews-r-divisions-future/ Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan caught testing around California. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/01/31/mercedes-benz-eqs-ev-sedan-shown-in-camo/
  7. ROFLMAO, this has got to be one of the best art things ever. Guy takes 99 cell phones to a street and causes red even though there is no traffic just by having the cell phones sitting there.
  8. OUCH, Fully loaded performance with the self driving system is a $68,990 before tax, delivery and other unidentified fees. Way better looking EVs coming for less money. Heck even the Mustang Mach e is better looking than this auto.
  9. Ordering FAQ - Guess Tesla is not able to get the $1,000 deposit they used to as now you only have to put in a $100 non-refundable deposit. Also interesting that more folks are trading their S in on the model Y. That speaks volumes about the Model S.
  10. Interesting that Tesla Dyno Mode is in the auto's but to go into this mode you have to look at how others have done it since Tesla does not talk about it. dynotest is the pass word. The reason Tesla is not talking about Dyno mode is the morons that do not have an idea of how to properly drive an auto with all the torque and power. I have to say the Tesla Model Y is BUTT UGLY! https://www.tesla.com/modely Honestly not impressed with the spec's.
  11. Gotta love these stories on the lovely weather girls around North America! https://www.ninjajournalist.com/world/weather-girls-yh/ Random but lovely images!
  12. Such a shame that this is what they tried to market as Excitement. Anything but, ? I was a fan of the QUAD motor even though it had it's issues, it was a cool motor. GM just needed a bit more Engineering QA work on it and it would have been a big hit for them. Bean counters I think hurt the motor due to shortcuts in gaskets kinda like the early days of the Cadillac Northstar.
  13. Butt, Butt, Butt it is all about the Booty! Motherhood has taken it from the youthful round butt to the traditional motherhood hips and butt. Still it is insured for $27 million. ? While not a believer in everything they post just like all the fake news on Fox, but after 3 quarters of half GDP, I do think the long over due recession is coming and we will see a bunch of auto startups go away. On top of this, we are in the longest period of minimal to no growth in income for middle income earners while people have continued to take on debt. Personal Debt has ballooned which is a concern for our economy to keep going. Stock market has only grown and helped the 1% with minimal benefits to the middle class. Over the years in owning many various auto's and buying them for family members who wanted my help, I have come to believe that the best thing anyone can do on all levels of auto's from subcompact entry level to luxury is quality tires. Amazing the difference in road noise, control, etc. that quality tires give ya. So happy you got home safe n sound with your sister and was able to enjoy the Super Bowl. Have a Great Week Robert! This has me cracking up, here in 2020 Mercedes-Benz Maybachs 2004 are available with low miles for $34,000 and yet we have restored 1971 Datsuns 240Z selling for $300,000. https://jalopnik.com/in-the-year-2020-maybachs-cost-30-000-and-old-datsuns-1841395635 BEST QUOTE from the Story: Essentially, “Japanese classics are gaining appreciation” while “frumpy European luxury barges are depreciating” is very old news. I just found this particularly stark contrast amusing.
  14. Thank you Ocnblu, I always got those and the Chevrolet version mixed. ? Just knew it was from the 80's.
  15. Last day of the month and, I spy an old 80's era Chevrolet walking into 24hr fitness.
  16. OUTSTANDING Links. Very engineering which I love, but not all might get it. LOL
  17. Just like we have to educate the public on newton meters versus lb-ft like HP versus kW. EV's require a change in thinking and as has been proven so much, older folks have a harder time changing gears to the new mind set. Course Cadillac is already confusing the boomers with 400 versus 2.0 LOL
  18. I have posted videos of their F150 EV Concept that pulled 1.25 millions pounds.
  19. You do not know that. If this is a quad motor Hummer EV, that torque is very real. No one really knows as we do not have any details to state what is real torque versus peak short jump in torque. Hopefully 5/20/2020 will answer that for us.
  20. Got a meeting to be in, but agree that would be interesting to look into.
  21. Trailblazer SS with LSA Supercharger V8 put in. Listen to the Dyno at 4:24
  22. Amazon has Rivian for their vans, UPS now has Arrival for theirs out of the UK. UPS invested into Arrival and ordered 10,000 EV Delivery Vans. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/01/29/ups-deliveries-arrival-vans-waymo/
  23. The Amazon Vans are much longer than the R1t / F150 base truck. RJ is on record that due to the motors being mounted between the front and rear wheels, it allows them to stretch the platform for any length including any size battery pack. This to me says they could easily handle an HD King Crew Cab with 8' bed with ease plus give you a 300kWh battery pack for say 500 to 600 miles.
  24. Right, CyberTruck has nothing on Hummer by GMC! After all everyone loves a Hummer! ? Even the Eco Warriors can get behind this Hummer! ?
  25. Random news, we now have 3 quarters of diminishing GDP, virus and so much more. Yes, the programs that gave this country growth in 2017 and 2018 have wound down and now lack or leadership has us moving in the direction of a long overdue market correction / depression. I think this is where we will see many of the EV start ups go away.
