  1. I like a warm brown interior. Earthy, but warm and not sterile like a white or tan interior comes across.
  2. @Robert Hall @surreal1272 @oldshurst442 @riviera74 @ccap41 @balthazar @ocnblu Have to say that VW ID.4 production EV that leaked out in China looks good. Close to the concept. Not a bad looking EV CUV.
  3. According to Electrek web site, VW will open up their reservation system in September. Online reservations for the ID.4 EV will only require a $100 deposit. VW production of the ID.4 for European and Chinese markets has started and is on size to compete with the Tesla Y small CUV. The auto is expected to have about 250 miles of range in base form and start at $40,000. 300 miles plus for the top trim version. Production for the North American Market will start in early 2022 at Chattanooga Factory upon the construction completion of the assembly line and battery production plant. The auto has a .28 drag coefficient. ID.4 Concept https://electrek.co/2020/08/27/vw-id4-electric-suv-orders-september-deposit/ Thanks to a Chinese web site not being secure, actual production models have been caught before the official introduction. A muscular clean CUV EV is seen here and close to the Concept. https://electrek.co/2020/06/17/leaked-photos-of-vw-id-4-electric-crossover-reveal-clean-design/
  4. India's Mahindra announces it will use the Isreal REE platform for commercial EV's globally. REE's modular platform uses in-wheel hub motors and has all electrical components in the wheel well's allowing for a quick change of body depending on the needs. Thus the plateform is very flexible for use as a taxi to delivery van, service truck, etc. India due to poor air quality has stated ALL ICE Auto sales will end in 2030 thus moving the country to EV auto's, Motorcycles, Bikes, etc. Thus Mahindra has become very bullish on building EV's starting with the Commercial market as it also plans for it's auto lines to convert to EV's but on an internal built platform. The REE platform will compete with Lordstown motors and Rivian who both have their own Skateboard module platform and is either already signed to build commercial auto's like Rivian for Amazon or in Lordstown case shopping around to get commercial companies / fleets interested in having them build specific EV commercial auto's. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1129390_india-s-mahindra-announces-it-will-use-ree-platform-for-commercial-evs
  5. I think the answer will be in having them look normal like any other auto and not looking weird like the Leaf has looked. Nissan already has stated the Leaf will not move into the future with their EV product roadmap. They will have their EV's look exactly like the regular ICE auto's. I think that will end up changing people perception. Once someone gets in an auto they like the look of, drives it, they might or might not realize it is electric. I think they will then see a larger change over. This will also require the dealerships to educate their sales staff on the subtle differences between the auto due to the powertrain differences.
  6. Between now and the end of the year, these will come out as each model rolls into the 2021 versions. Some already have an AT4 version, others will come out later this year. By the end of this year all GMC models should have an AT4 version.
  7. I understand, I have come to realize especially after the latest updates to the Ford F-150 line that GM will never replace Ford as the best selling truck till they offer a much wider assortment of interior and exterior colors on all models from base LS to top of the line at Chevrolet and same at GMC. To me it seems GM is willing to be happy at 2nd best compared to Ford in sales. I want quality, but I think they need to expand their color portfolio with the options mix. I honestly was hoping that with going to their new wire harness systems, GM Digital Vehicle Platform that it would have allowed them to offer a better pick your individual features you want. https://plants.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2019/may/0520-digital.html I understand there are aftermarket upgrades for both engines, diesel always seems to cost much more than gas. I also understand that the diesel would out performance the V6. Cost I think will still be a sticking point to Sales. People who come on the lot will look at the V8 versus Diesel and I think will go V8. GM has never marketed Diesel well. It sells to Diesel people, but any benefits are never covered nor is the dealership really understand it to sell either. I just do not see Diesel conquest sales to people who want minimal maintenance and thinking of what they need to do. Diesel fuel, Urea filling of the tank, that now makes two things to do compared to just regular gas. I just do not see people converting from gas to Diesel as they once might have done. The ability to go diesel in America has been missed by the auto companies.
  8. Agree, you SHOULD be able to get all interior and exterior colors on any model line I think. It is crazy that they push you into the over bling Denali to get those choices. I really like this two tone brown interior but only in Denali. Everything else below is black or grey, totally sucks.
  9. No silver available, but a very nice Satin Steel is. I also really like the Carbon Black. https://www.gmc.com/trucks/sierra/1500/at4
  10. And YOU have used degrading terms for woman to try and justify an unwarranted hatred of not being blu's way. If you had a partner, you might understand the love one has to have their mate happy. I also have not hopped from auto to auto to auto compared to some that want instant gratification. I see what is coming and CHOOSE to wait to have the wife happy and achieve my own desires. So are you going to HATE as much on Hummer by GMC, Hummer ev, H as you have on GM's Bolt? I remember once that YOU and I both did not like the Aluminum bed of the Ford F-150's and while they have seemed to hold up, YOU and I both still preferred STEEL bed over ALUMINUM. Yet Aluminum is now very common and seems to be surviving as a high strength metal in Auto's and forecast's seem to have it gain even more use along with carbon fiber as a way to make auto's lighter and still strong. So I wonder how many years before you flip on going from ICE to EV's once some instant gratification tickles your fancy. ? I will give you credit for standing your ground on your hatred for all things EV. I once thought like you but as I learned more and more about EV's I see more positive than negative. I also see like Baby Boomers who have resisted change and acceptance of technology, they are left behind and eventually disappear as we all will. Live your life to the fullest, as I will mine and I will enjoy the changes that the modern tech world brings with diversity in a Multi-Cultural world of Color. The variety of life that various Foods, Auto's, to cloths, furniture, etc. brings. Viva la EV's.
  11. Interesting how someone will preach about buy America, bitch about an American company and yet also has bought multiple non-American auto's including his mother's auto. So much for supporting America.
  12. We agree to disagree, but if it was not an issue then how come there are SO MANY ONLINE LINKS about what to do when Gas is put in your Diesel auto or vic a versa. Seems to be an issue with Gas destroying a Diesel motor. I agree that those that want the benefits and accept diesel will understand the responsibility. I stand by my comment that most people want less maintenance and less things to think about such as urine to keep the exhaust clean than what a diesel requires and right now current Diesels require more maintenance than an old diesel like what you drive. I am glad that for you, maintenance is less, sadly, that does not seem to be for those that have a trailer and buy a diesel for the Torque and yet seem to not do their maintenance. Depending on the person they either cost more or less. Especially if you do your maintenance at the dealership. Interesting comparison. https://news.pickuptrucks.com/2018/09/considering-a-diesel-pickup-here-are-costs-to-ponder.html https://mechanicshub.com/toolbox/maintenance-diesel-engines-vs-gas
  13. Agree, I have to wonder myself about that and if the email response I got is estimated by the guy since nothing has been posted on the web site as official numbers.
  14. Do not know who Tim is, but David is here. Yes, 5.3 is DOWN, but after market can boost it over and still be cheaper than the cost of diesel. 6.2 equals, yes and has the cost of Premium fuel. With the bulk of people NOT paying attention to details or learning about things, I really do not think Diesel and the added maintenance, cost and awareness will happen. I suspect we will see an up tick at first, but that will be about it. I also expect plenty of people to mess up and put regular gas into the diesel messing it up as they will not pay attention, same with the rest of the added maintenance of the Diesel. People want to do less not more in regards to their auto. Diesel fans will get what they want, but I do not expect it to win over regular gas users.
  15. Lucid Motors has released some additional details about their car (Lucid Air) and it is class leading and clearly puts Tesla on notice that their Tesla S will NOT be the luxury leader. Here are the details they released: Frunk will be class leading at 9.9 cubic feet, largest currently in the EV car segment Trunk will be 16 cubic feet, again class leading compared to both car and cuv out right now. Battery pack will be a 113 kWh, significantly larger than the 100 kWh battery pack Tesla offers and good for 517 miles. Considerably more efficient than Tesla Drive train and Cooling system is a Unified liquid motor-transmission unit that save lots of space contributing to the larger frunk/trunk. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1129377_lucid-air-will-have-113-kwh-battery-pack-biggest-frunk-ever-miniaturized-drivetrain More details to come at the official auto reveal on September 9th 2020. Pre-Orders are open now at their web site. https://lucidmotors.com/ LATEST EV STUDY FINDING: The latest study based on interviewing 9,000 consumers, 750 fleet managers and 30 automotive industry professionals in 8 countries. US, UK, Norway, France, Germany, India, China and Japan. Global tipping point for mass EV adoption: 31 minute maximum full battery charging minimum range of 291 miles Base price of $36,000 before incentives and truly available on the lots to buy. Final point that everyone said was needed is also believed to be a bit harder and that is having the OEM Auto companies boost marketing and informational training on the EV's, benefits, reasons to buy, etc. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1129373_study-finds-global-tipping-points-for-evs-31-minute-charging-291-miles-of-range-36-000 Aluminum is now the fastest growing segment of material use in Auto's and especially in the EV segment. Current High Strength Aluminum use is 12% in current auto's, expected to be 24% by 2030 and up to 50% by 2050. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/use-of-aluminum-growing-faster-than-any-other-automotive-material/
  16. Awesome, So happy for you. Love the Color. Congratulations!
  17. Here is Shaq getting into the R1T, big Big BIG Boy and he Fits! I got a response from Rivian on interior spec's that they have not listed yet on the web site. To quote the email. As far as interior dimensions, I've listed any available specs below; however, want to emphasize that this will not fully paint the picture as there are multiple factors that will play into the overall comfort. From personal experience (I'm around 6'1), the R1T is extremely comfortable for me! Also, for what it's worth, our friend Shaquille O'neal thinks so as well https://www.instagram.com/shaq/p/ByZMGjsFRkO/ Interior Specs: Effective Head Room- 41 inches Effective Leg Room- 42 inches Hip room- 55 inches We'll be sure to let you know when we can get you behind the wheel! Take care, Kevin
  18. Still very cool what GM has created with their versatile battery cells. I am also curious to see what else they have done with the redesigned Bolt / Bolt EUV.
  19. Clarification, I AM NOT Anti-Diesel, there is a place for it, just need better emissions on the exhaust due to the Toxic nature. While I believe there is a place for Diesel auto's, the 6.2 out performs the baby Duramax and I think that due to Diesel gate by the Germans, that those that would want the Full Size SUV for camping will pass on the diesel compared to going with the 6.2L V8 or 5.3L V8 and the less costly 3rd party enhancements to get more power out of those engines. I was one that wanted a Diesel Suburban back in the 90's but what was available was hard to get in Washington state. Later on when I went looking, there were no options for pulling in the Suburban other than Gas V8. I would love to see the sales rate, ATP info, etc. on the diesel sales as you do not hear much about it. GM never has marketed diesel well.
  20. Thought you all would like this Chevrolet Video release of a walk around of the all new 2021 Tahoe and Suburban. Great inside and out, they have really stepped up their game. I do wonder how many will go for the diesel, Thinking this is too little too late for diesel now. https://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/home.html 2021-Chevrolet-Tahoe-and-Suburban-Walkaround.mp4
