  1. WOW, you truly to do not read the actual info, but read bits and make assumptions. As I said being married to a Korean which gets me a much closer look into the community here in the US and Korea due to family, I am only reporting how the Koreans see Hyundai / Kia. I NEVER SAID I was an Oracle, but thank you for giving me some god like status. While GM has made major improvements in some areas post Bankruptcy, there are others where they need to still make major improvements in. Same with Hyundai / Kia. Interiors are Subjective to each persons taste and yet no one auto company is hitting nothing but home runs as we all have stated here and that includes GM, but lately FORD is really hitting the recalls as is Toyota in comparison to GM or Hyundai / Kia. J.D. Powers is a snapshot in time, a short time but as is showing recently, the last few years Hyundai / Kia have been hitting better than average compared to even GM.
  2. Let me throw a bigger monkey wrench into this thought as being married to a Korean, in Korea as well as here in the US. Kia and Hyundai are seen as Equals with Genesis being their Luxury brand and the Stinger is the start of the Hyundai / Kia Performance sub brand. Kind of like how many of us saw Pontiac. Koreans see the Hyundai / Kia as an entry point into an auto with two distinct styles. If you want Performance you go Kia / Stinger, If you want normal auto with some luxury you go Hyundai and then full Luxury is Genesis. I see the Hyundai Santa Fe adding in the Buick mid Luxury level in trim packages. If you start looking at the last 5 years, you will find that Hyundai / Kia are very much on par with Chevrolet and below Buick but improving. The Hyundai / Kia advantage is that they give far superior value in buying one of their auto's in packages at a lower price point versus GM products which many here myself included has stated that the price point with the packages is crazy high. It really would be better for GM to reduce the prices and also reduce the crazy discount money on the hood crap. Here are some interesting reviews that prove that the reliability and longevity is on par between GM / Hyundai / Kia. https://repairpal.com/cars/compare/chevrolet-cruze-vs-hyundai-sonata https://www.kbb.com/comparison/2020-hyundai-santa-fe-vs-2020-chevrolet-blazer-comparison/ https://repairpal.com/cars/compare/chevrolet-malibu-vs-hyundai-sonata This is very interesting as Buick is on Top with Kia right behind. https://www.jdpower.com/Cars/Ratings/Dependability/2020/Small-SUV Kia has 6 awards and is in the top 6 best auto companies for 2020. https://www.jdpower.com/Cars/Ratings For 2020 J.D. Power Initial Quality Awards makes a very interesting read. Seems Dodge is the #1 followed by Kia, Chevrolet, Genesis, etc. You can see that Hyundai is above Cadillac. https://www.jdpower.com/business/press-releases/2020-initial-quality-study-iqs
  3. Per this report, FCA is going to start production on the Ram 700 for Central and South America. This is the all new replacement for what FCA has lived on for decades as the rebadged Mistubishi Might Max pickup. The Ram 700 is on a Global Platform that some believe would indicate that FCA could be jumping back into the compact Pickup Market . Next year we get the 2022 Ram Dakota for the mid size market. The Ram 700 would allow them to also jump into the compact truck market before GM and on time with Ford releasing their compact truck. Bed is designed for a natural partition system. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2020/10/could-the-ram-700-foreshadow-something-smaller-for-north-america/ Amazon Prime day starting tomorrow at Midnight. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/products/best-amazon-prime-day-deals/

  7. Acura NSX restoration program that is very active in Japan is being reviewed for use in the US. The program starts with a $1,200 detailed inspection cost by the dealership of your NSX, then once the review is done, you can choose from a wide variety of packages. If you go with a full restoration of the auto from the chassis on up, the cost is a whopping $140,000. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/first-gen-acura-nsx-us-restoration-program-report/ Detailed Cleaning of Auto $2,500 Seal replacements $1,000 Suspension full replacement costs $21,000 to $24,000 Engine overhaul costs $21,000 to $24,000 These are just some of the packages that will be available to NSX owners under the Restoration program. Crazy Cost on an ICE auto. As nuts as everyone says on a EV conversion. Seems Oct. 14th 2020 is the reveal date for the ALL NEW MDX Concept. Seems it will have an all Digital dash, two tone steering wheel, they might call it a prototype, but it looks production ready from what can be seen.
  8. This must have been what made them decide the SMART car was a good idea. LOL NOT!
  9. Have to say I like the Jeep GC way better than the Wagoneer Concept they unveiled. https://www.motor1.com/news/442218/jeep-grand-wagoneer-concept-2022/ Seems that an all glass roof is the rage today for auto's, hopefully Jeep will attach them better than Tesla has done on the model Y.
  10. Seems Motor 1 is 99% sure on their rendering of the all New 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee based on the spy shots from this story. https://www.motor1.com/news/431338/2021-jeep-grand-cherokee-spied/ Leads them to think this is what we will see: Which if true along with other renderings at the updated story makes this a very competitive and hot looking SUV. https://www.motor1.com/news/447812/2022-jeep-grand-cherokee-renderings/
  11. Amazon took the first of the 100,000 delivery vans that Rivian will build for them this week. Very cool that the van assembly line seems to be up and working.
  12. Seems everyone wants to have their own unique auto sounds. Audi has announced that the new e-tron GT will have it's own unique sound. At 2:30 is where you get to hear their patented auto sound. Seems in the press release they had another video that you can watch at this web site that covers the sounds in use too. https://www.thedrive.com/tech/36959/hear-it-the-audi-e-tron-gt-rs-wont-be-a-quiet-electric-car You can also hear their sound here under normal load and under heavy acceleration.
  13. According to The Drive web site, it seems Toyota has announced that under their Hino truck brand, they will bring to production a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Class 8 Semi truck as replacement for Toxic dirty Diesel trucks. As such, The Drive says if Toyota delivers, this could be the death of Nikola and other start ups due to the deep pockets Toyota has to fund the Hydrogen clean semi trucks. https://www.thedrive.com/tech/36924/if-it-works-toyotas-fuel-cell-semi-truck-could-doom-the-startups
  14. Seems ZF is the supplier for the 8sp hybrid transmission for the Jeep Wrangler. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/zf-to-provide-8-speed-plug-in-hybrid-transmission-for-new-jeep-wrangler-4xe-phev/
  15. Ya can go back to your toxic rolling coal way of life. That is ok with us.
  16. Yes this could so carry the Olds Badge on it! Would you be happy if it was an SUV with an Olds badge? Be interesting once they do the SUV Reveal.
  17. Super Clean, looks like it has been taped, mudded and painted. Mine is also like that, I dislike unfinished garages. Awesome Job!
