  1. Got it, this is the Cadillac of their mowers with the even more powerful 7.5Amp battery pack. Awesome lawn mower. Just to clarify for you, the big all in one 7.5Amp battery pack will work on your other EGO tools, but the small batteries of the hand tools do not work in the big mower . They do have the Dual 5 Amp batteries mower that gives longer run time. Amazon.com : EGO Power+ LM2142SP 21-Inch 56-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Electric Dual-Port Walk Behind Self Propelled Lawn Mower with Two 5.0 Ah Batteries & Charger Included : Garden & Outdoor This is equal to mine that has a single large battery. They did not have this option almost 5 years ago when I bought mine. I just realized that this is dual 5 Amp batteries for longer run time than the single 7.5 Amp battery. Still double the size of the 2.5 Amp battery packs on the hand tools.
  2. Was curious and looked at Napa web site and O'Reilly auto parts and found for a 2017 Chevy Diesel filters from $10 to $40 so took the middle as I hate using cheap filters. So $20 for a filter and then OIL, regular Mobil synthetic oil is $48.99 for 2.5 gallons or Mobil Delvac regular diesel oil at $44.99. So if you do your own oil changes, I can see from $75 to $100 per oil change for materials. Then you have time and disposal of said dirty oil on top of that. Called my local Chevrolet and was a bit shocked when they quoted me $95 for an OEM filter and their 2.5 gallon container of GM synthetic oil was $99. OUCH, the guy even said it would be cheaper to have them do the oil change with tax at under $200 or if I wanted to stay a DIY person, go to Napa. Very interesting.
  3. You are the exception as I do not find to many people who do their own oil changes anymore. Either 3rd party places like Grease Monkey out here or the dealership is the norm for most people now and diesel oil change is expensive. I do understand, as I have in the past changed my own oil, but now time and disposal properly of used oil, might as well use the dealership.
  4. Thought on this, the Mowers bigger battery pack at 56V is good for 1hr of mowing. I am able to easily without loss of power mow my Quarter acre back yard and my little bit in the front and still have power. Plus the mower's bigger battery pack is able to be used on all the other tools, yet a bit more weight to carry, but allows longer run time. The smaller battery packs that come on all the other tools is good for 30 min of use. If I need more, I switch out to the Mower pack, but now that I have multiple smaller batteries, I can easily swap batteries, charge one while using a fresh one and by the time I deplete that battery, the other is charged and ready to go. I see NO DOWN SIDE to EV tools over gas tools. I agree with @riviera74 time to replace that mouse, the electronics are shorting out causing your issues. Pretty common. I will say that the Logitech digital mice seem to work really well. In regards to your email issue, that is just weird. Maybe you should review your settings and check the mail filter as that can cause issues especially if who ever you use as email has aggressive filters.
  5. Which model of the EGO mower are you looking at, I see mine can be purchased on Amazon for $429.99 which is cheaper than what I paid years back.
  6. While I have some older models, it seems most are still being sold. I have the following models: 21" Self-Propelled Cordless Lawn Mower by EGO POWER+ (egopowerplus.com) 530 CFM Cordless Lawn Blower by EGO POWER+ (egopowerplus.com) The Power of Gas, the Convenience of Multiple Tools | EGO (egopowerplus.com) I have the following heads: Extension pole String Trimmer Hedge Trimmer Pole Saw 18" Cordless Chain Saw by EGO POWER+ (egopowerplus.com) As you can see, I am a believer in their product line. Works great, will never go back to ICE tools.
  7. I have used the EGO 18" bar to cut logs equal to the bar and it just rips through them. I see no down side to an EV Tree saw. Too easy to have multiple battery packs even if you live on a a 5 acre plot. I love my EGO push mower. I did buy the one with lights and driven wheels, but I love the workout so have not used the motors to drive the wheels, I have used the lights to mow as it is getting dark at night and worked great to cut the grass and no one was aware I was mowing. So nice and quiet compared to ICE mowers. Big difference of EGO versus Toro, Husqvarna and others is the computer controller boards in the battery packs to keep all cells strong. I am at the 5 year mark on my batteries for the Mower, hedger, Weed Wacker, Blower, and saw. No loss of performance. In fact I love the blower, faster and easier at cleaning up the yard than a rake. EGO has intelligence built in to monitor and move power around the cells to insure none die and the battery stays in top condition when not being used. Worth checking out. Ask me any questions as I am sold on EGO over everyone else.
  8. Interesting, but I swear that this new Hyundai E-GMP modular electric platform is a copy of GM's Ultium platform. Hyundai Motor Group reveals E-GMP electric platform for Ioniq 5, et al | Autoblog Mini has confirmed they are developing an electric John Cooper Works performance version. No More Tail Pipe for the Performance Enthusiast. An electric Mini John Cooper Works model is in development | Autoblog
  9. I have been retiring all my ICE yard tools and replacing them with EGO power tools. Just solid and they last but without the engine noise, so I do not have to wear hearing protection. Power Beyond Belief, #1 Rated Battery Powered Platform | EGO (egopowerplus.com) They have at this time a 14, 16 and 18 inch blade. Cordless Chain Saw Powers Through Trees, Limbs, and More | EGO (egopowerplus.com)
  10. Seems a price war is on for the ubber 6 figures luxury SUV products as Mercedes-Benz has rolled out their latest 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 Opulence embraced SUV. Undercutting Bentley Bentayga, Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiogrphy and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan with a starting price of only $161,550. This SUV maxes out at $200,000 so if your looking for the monogrammed floor mats, then look to Bently or Rools-Royce. 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 first drive review: Opulence embraced - Roadshow (cnet.com)
  11. Seems 42 companies have asked the Federal Government for action on Climate change and the acceleration to EVs. Japan is the latest country that is looking to ban ICE auto sales by mid 2030's or earlier moving to a country that supports Hybrid / EV auto sales only. EGEB: Ford, HP, Amazon, others call for govt climate action - Electrek Daimler has announced starting with January 1st 2021 to December 31st 2025 they will invest $85 billion in moving their product line of trucks, buses and personal auto's to EV's and or Hybrids. Daimler announces $85 billion investment, mostly toward accelerating electrification - Electrek
  12. Hyundai has announced they will have Ten models electrified for 2022. Moving up from a planned 8 models earlier in the year.
  13. Gm has stated that it would be a body on frame design, but looking at the way the Ultium platform is setup, it does mirror their earlier skateboard setup to my eye.
  14. I suspect Ford will use the Rivian platform to learn from unless they have already moved the Mach E platform into multiple other SUV autos to come. For sure Ford will make money on their $500 million investment for stock shares once Rivian goes public.
  15. ? I am confused as Vancouver Island here which is a normal basic cost ferry ride from the US or from Vancouver city in British Columbia has a population of 870,000 plus citizens. There is a national park there and on the north end of the island plenty of cool camping stuff, hikes, water falls etc. to see. Empress Hotel Basic freeway system, but plenty of dirt roads for off roading. If one wants to get away from it all, then the northern tip of the island is worth visiting to camp. Best park if your wanting a good day trip is Butchart Gardens. They have their own private marina if you own a boat or you can take the ferry there and drive to the garden which is freaking amazing. Once done at the Garden, a visit to the Buttery fly garden is worth it. Victoria Butterfly Gardens A posted video by a visitor.
  16. GM DID Look at investing in Rivian but they wanted Rivian to themselves and wanted Rivian to dump Ford and Amazon which I do not agree with. Rivian CEO is wanting the tech to many companies and so GM choose to stick with their own platform. It will be interesting to see which way Ford goes as they will have two platforms, Rivian for a Truck and possibly future SUV and then the Mach E platform. Exciting times we live in.
  17. I think you miss understand me. Yes electronics and controls have been around since the 70's. The 70's, 80's and even 90's are very basic simple electronic controls. Starting in 2000 and since then, we have seen actual computers take over larger and larger management of ICE auto's and with Tesla leadership, we saw a rapid change away from basic controllers to full fledge computers that have in depth coding and encryption to the point that GM rolled out a single solid Terabyte system for their auto's starting with Cadillac. Ford is now doing it as is everyone else trying to catch up. You see thousands of new job openings at all Auto companies and these are for true computer developers. Not just basic electrical engineers or mechanical engineers which are still very much needed. The future as we move forward with EVs will incorporate secure, encrypted locked down computer operating systems.
  18. Posted on Reddit, This is what happens when the Airbag does not inflate.
  19. @riviera74 Happy Birthday! May you have a Great day!!! ?
  20. Those Rock, Thank you Robert! That is an Awesome looking truck, Professional and rocks! Home Run Hit and would serve you so well.
  21. Seems Tesla now with their crazy stock value is open to discussions on merging with other auto companies. ? Let the crazy stories begin on who would be merger candidates. Elon Musk: Tesla (TSLA) is open to merging with automakers - Electrek For the most conservative of states on the west coast, Oregon continues to surprise me in moving forward as they build out massive 5 Megawatt rapid chargers for semi trucks. This is supposedly to help Daimler support their customers who are buying the eCascade electric semi truck. 200 miles of recharge in 80 min. Portland and Daimler team up for 5MW electric semi public charging 'Island' - Electrek
  22. Wish I could photoshop decently and it would be nice to put the current body of the Charger on this and see what a updated station wagon would look like.
