  2. Tesla as is all the other auto companies are going to find the need to INNOVATE their BEVs as Ford just completed a major Coup in hiring away one of the most coveted BEV Tech leaders. Apple has dragged their feet in taking to market their secret BEV project that they still do not acknowledge. Doug wants his projects out for people to use. As such, Ford WON in poaching him away to lead their 21st Century Embedded system for the BEV portfolio of Ford/Lincoln. Mercedes watch out as Ford has a BRILLIANT mind behind moving their BEV portfolio forward through the 21st century. GM will need to step up their innovation game as will all auto companies to compete with Ford. OUCH, Daimler stock and Tesla stock both down on this news while Ford and GM are both up on the news as this is seen as a very strong positive for US BEV production.
  3. Tall Mountain to Climb? That can be said about the Anemic EQS tragic style. Interior while excellent from what we have seen in pictures is still a far cry from selling a complete package, so they have a TALL MOUNTAIN to climb for sales. If all ICE of Mercedes was stopped today, Mercedes would FAIL as a company trying to survive on their current electric auto's. Per tracking service here: Tesla Model Y US car sales figures (carsalesbase.com) Ford Mustang Mach-E US car sales figures (carsalesbase.com) Lets focus on the US, Tesla sold 25,000 Model Y in 2020, 76,429 so far in 2021. Ford sold 3 sold at the end of 2020, 6,767 so far in 2021. Yes one could say that Tesla is doing a better job than Ford in the US, but then lets look at Europe. Tesla Model Y European auto sales figures (carsalesbase.com) Ford Mustang Mach-E European sales figures (carsalesbase.com) Tesla sold 0,000 Model Y in 2020, 331 so far in 2021. Ford sold 185 Mach-e in 2020, 9,113 in 2021 so far Clearly Ford is doing a better job than Tesla in Europe. Let's look at China Tesla Model Y China auto sales figures (carsalesbase.com) Ford is working through the process to import in US made Mach-e for sale in China, Tesla is fighting them. Why? Tesla sold 0,000 Model Y in 2020, 56,534 in 2021 so far. Globally Tesla has sold 133,294 Model Y globally in 2021 Ford has sold 15,880 globally in 2021 so far. Yes Tesla has been building electric auto's much longer than Ford, yet why is their number not much higher then? Only an 8 times sales rate over Ford when it should easily be in the double digits. As such, YES, TESLA should fear the other OEMs.
  4. Tesla I see as another Apple. A company that blazed a trail for others to follow, but like all things, other companies learn, and in some cases will surpass the original leader company. Apple blazed a trail with innovative products, now since Job died, Apple has not really innovated anything. Next generation of chips, higher resolution on a camera is not innovating, just keeping the cash cow alive. Tesla blazed the trail with electric motors, Batteries and to a certain affect software for BEVs. Now we have a slew of new products coming and out that are already besting Tesla in many ways. Mach-e @ 70% conquest with what industry reviews state has better fit n finish as well as over all styling which we all know is subjective. EQS, the jelly bean of exterior style with a striking interior that does set a high bar. The starting to ship Rivian R1T that clearly sets a standard for electric pickups in the luxury price range. The soon to start shipping in the new year Ford F-150 Lightning that has clearly set the bar for BEVs as work vehicles as well as personal vehicles. GM with their Hummer by GMC Truck and SUV that ships next year in the true luxury category of truck / suv. The list will go on as we also have the Cadillac LYRIQ CUV that has a striking exterior style and based on current released images, a true luxury interior. I will not forget Porsche, Audi or Jaguar that have electric sedan / CUV out, but I expect to step up to the next level of luxury competition in the BEV category. Over all, Tesla needs to be concerned and as has been stated here, if they do not nail a solid home run with Gen two of the 3, Y, and Gen 3 of S & X will see their market share slowly erode. Innovation is going to be key to the next millennium of the auto industry.
  5. I understand what you are saying as Hyundai and Kia have always been the Value with long warranty companies. Since Genesis has stated that they have benchmarked Mercedes, my thought is that they would continue to follow Mercedes with a wide range of so called luxury models across the whole price point. Will be interesting to see as we get closer to launch and they release more details. You are probably right it will be in the $40K's range but then we could be surprised.
  6. Good question they have not talked prices at all but are looking at a full range of luxury price points and this being a Compact, I could see starting where you state.
  7. Your right, usually a non-ford. I have been reading allot of posts from Tesla conquest sales people are posting to YouTube or the various Mach-e forums and they all seem to be Tesla converts. Ford is Nailing it with a better interior than Tesla. That should be a concern to Tesla that they need an update STAT on the product line and not in a few years.
  8. No I do not, people will change when they see the ongoing power of electric muscle cars and while there will be those that rebel, it will be a minority as most will embrace the change coming once they can sit in, power on and roast the tires moving away at warp speed.
  9. WOW, Baseball owner I can see making her very rough dealing with all the self entitled pricks that own teams and think woman belong in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant. I think we still have a long way to go in changing view to be a much more acceptable Multi-Cultural world where woman are very much an equal to men and have a ton to offer in making things more balanced. Yes, you are very right on how office Villains be them male/female/non-defined can cause so much hurt before they are dealt with as we lost many talented team members due to terrible managers like mine where we had a 75% turn over. I would have left if not for some personal commitments to my wife about job changes while she was in college. As it turned out, life is good due to sticking it out.

Tesla should worry about themselves and the distractions that come from trying to be all things to everyone from Solar roofs, solar power generation, power company, auto company, etc. etc. etc. Plus as the posts clearly show, all other auto companies. Ford right now should be a worry as 70% of their Mach-e sales are conquest sales from Tesla based on what Ford is reporting and people are posting about the over all quality with fit n finish. Right now I think the coming Rivian Truck will hurt Tesla as will Fords F-150 Truck. This covers both high and low price points and I think Tesla as well as any other company that ignores the desires of the buying public will feel the hurt. I honestly think Mercedes is making a MAJOR mistake in having so many electric cars out before electric SUV/CUV/TRUCK.
  11. I honestly think Stellantis is embracing Dodge's history of SRT and Muscle and realizes the profit generating machine it is. As such, I honestly do not see them doing anything to hurt the current ICE product line while they focus on bringing out proper electric Muscle Cars.
  12. As one that pays NO attention to sports what sport is she an owner in? On just a photo standpoint, she looks constipated and would be a #itch to have to work for. Reminds me of a manager I once had that truly was the worst manager I ever had. She was fired 18 months later for cause after so many HR complaints.

Totally agree, I doubt we will see any real big change other than minor tweaks as they let the ICE version just run out as all the R&D are focused on an electric Charger and Challenger to rip up the planet. I wonder if any of the concepts they had done in the past will show up in future or it it will be a clean sheet design. Clearly they have some functional awd concepts that we will see soon. Makes me think they have gone old school on the design.

Refreshed Tesla Model S Vs Mercedes-Benz EQS: Comparison (insideevs.com) So based on @smk4565 thoughts about being the world leader in Luxury auto's, then how does one explain that the real BEV Luxury company based on price is Tesla with 79% market share at this point in 2021 globally. https://electrek.co/2021/08/24/tesla-leads-ev-sales-double-us/ Mercedes is clearly playing catch up, clearly following and clearly not the leading luxury maker. Based on Prices, the upcoming Hummer by GMC Truck and SUV could make them the ultimate luxury maker of BEV considering price point puts them on par with Maybach trim packages. So GM becomes the leading Luxury maker then since both the Truck and SUV are sold out for the next 2 years. That is one thing we HAVE NOT SEEN with the EQS.
