Very nice, but way to Similar in my book. Their should have been a bigger seperation at birth of what they trucks look like. As for me, I would take the GMC over the Chevy as it looks way better. The reverse of the SUV. Chevy has the better looking SUV were as the GMC SUV is just plain ugly. Crazy, seems they are truly improving but not yet there to being the Worlds best. Keep working GM.

The GMC Is HOT, This is a Truck I could drive with the Duramax and 6 speed allison along with adding the Banks 6Gun kit. This will be a killer on all those over blown, noisy Powerstrokes and Cummings. Go GM!!! Now we just need an updated Smilie with these new looks.

I so disagree with you. The Lucerne while a nice car is just another boring conservative dullmobile. The Charge is hot, this is a love or hat car. Some thing GM has yet to realize. Perfect case in Point is the Escalade, no longer a distinct hot ride, but a clear rebadge of Tahoe and Yukon. Yukon, what the hell is up with that ugly Auto. Only SUV they got right was the Tahoe. Even the Avalanche they just did a dumb copy of Tahoe. No longer distinct vehicles that will sell but a blander tho much higher quality product line. By all merits, I took my coworker who was a nissan only owner due to his father who worked and just retired from Nissan and we test drove all 3 SUV's. He needs a larger vehicle for family, camping and towing. We'll clearly the New Yukon Denali is the one to get. Not much differant than the Escalade. Only a few items missing but much cheaper for the Denali XL over the ESV here in Seattle. Yet the design of the exteror is butt ugly. The only Vehicles they have right in my book are the Caddilac CTS, STS, DTS and XLR along with the Corvette, Tahoe and New Camero. The Cobalt also is a must mention for a hot ride. Other wise currenlty the new vehicles are just not that inspiring. My dad just bought a Colorado and while nice it is far short of what it should be. Interior trim is a disapointment, Exterior fit and finish still needs work. Born and raised american in Seattle will continue to support my american companies to keep the profits here but also a strong critic as I know GM can still get better. Last Grip, when will they wake up and put that ugly onstar / satellite antenna in the middle of the roof rather than over the driver. This truly looks like an after thought, cheap ass job done by Best buy or circuit city. This should either be center in the front or center in the rear to clean up the exterior over all apperiance.

This sounds like your carburator is boiling over so it vaporizes the gas and then you are having to wait for it to cool and start. Usually this is a problem with your float in the float bowl on the carburator. I would have them look at the settings or a new carb as this is not uncommon on misset floats on the carbs. Vapor lock is another common problem with carbs on cars that run for a few minutes and then turn off and they will not start back up again till you let it sit. Again, an issue with the float in the float bowl, the jets and mixture setting on the carb. My input on this problem I have seen on many auto's.

While I like the center stack in my Wifes CTS, how about shrinking it down. At 6'6" tall, it really cramps my legs. Even the new STS with it's center stack cramps my legs. These units seem to eat up vital interior space for us big guys.

Nice Truck, I just wish GM would put all those ugly antenna's either in the middle of the back of the truck or in the middle of the front but not off to one side, it looks hideous like that.

These Auto's are already being sold here. There is a company in Kirkland Washington that is selling the smart cars. I see a number of them here on the east side and around Redmond. UGLY these Coffins on Wheels need to be kept out. The last thing we need is more ugly, slow death box's. IMO
-
Car is very nice, the sun roof Rocks. Being 6'6" this allows us tall guys to have a sun roof, otherwise we have to delete that option. Looks good as is. Rock on GM!

What you do not want to pay more for less from an american auto company???? Yea I stopped by as the wife really likes the H3 and we looked. I was surprised to see every H3 and H2 running from 5-10K below their MSRP. The dealership said it was Hummers Red Sticker Summer Sale. So they had a near fully loaded H3 MSRP $35,465 stickered at $29,999. Great deals for sure and was pleased with the inside room. The test drive was very underwhelming. This thing was slower than a slug. The H2 was nice and they had many that were almost fully loaded for $50K way under their msrp. So I have to figure that GM is doing some quite heavy discounts. Wish they had the Duramax in the H2, I would grab one now. Course just think how many H3's would be sold if GM would put in the Baby Duramax V6 that Isuzu has running around the world. I checked a couple medium commercial trucks out while in Japan last week. Nice Package and they really move. The H3 then would beat the competition in HP, Torque and Milage. This would be a market segment Owner.

Thomas Friedman is 'rubbish'...and likely on crack
G. David Felt replied to Flybrian's topic in Opinion
New York TImes like our current Idiot administration could not find a cure let alone lead any real change. GM on the other hand attacked the bigger poluting vehicles first. Our Hybrid buses in Seattle have clearly cleaned up the streets and as some one else already mentioned saved more fuel than those Coffin on Donuts Prius toy's that only get 3/4 of their advertised gas milage. Course GM has built more E85 auto's than anyone else. Reality is that if GM, Ford and Chrysler got together and stated in 5 years they would have us off Oil but using synthetics only to lubricate and cool and then have all vehicles on E85 and BioDiesel only, we could and would shake the Arabs to their knees. With out the Big US consumption machine, they are nothing more than a desert area with no real way to make money. We could gain on our own fuel dependance if the Government would stop paying Farmers to NOT farm their land and clearly state that X amount of land if ro public consumption so that prices stay steady and X amount of land is to be used to produce the right kind of Alternative fuel plants that are needed. We could clearly get off Arab Oil and be self sufficiant. Look at www.BioDiesel.com This company has 2 plants in Hawaii, 1 in Oregon where you can purchase BioDiesel up and down I5 freeway and two plants in Texas. Given time, we will be off Arab OIL. Just need to draw a line in the sand as we did with going to the moon, the cold war, etc. We can win this war of oil dependancel -
GM, You need the Concept wheels, 18" size. Have 3 of the spokes go in and 3 come out. This will give it a very nice, classy look. This Vehicle will Rock.

The exchange rate is almost 1 to 1, I bet it will not be far off from this pricing.

8) Here are two companies that sell H2's with the Duramax HO and Allison 6 speed tranny. You can also get the smaller original Duramax and 5 speed allison. Pretty cool and at 22MPG way better than anything else out there. :P Predator H2 Duramax Hummers Stallion Customs Duramax H2 Conversions. Enjoy, I for one am looking forward to an H4 Pickup Truck :D :truck:

GM made to shorten response to Friedman

NY Times, Another way to say East Coast Trash Reporting. I have yet to see any real benefit come out of that over priced News Paper. Course, NY is just a Cess Pool of @#$@! IMHO. Very disappointed when I visited Time square for a business trip. They have no clue about the real world. Just their smelly lousy city of filth and stench. :fcvxplode: -
This is Great! The Chevy Luv truck was IMHO the best small truck Chevy ever had. My 1976 Series 5 Luv truck is still owned by the gal I sold it to when I left to go overseas. I see it all the time in great shape. Isuzu and GM can expand glabal market with this truckline and bring in a diesel to the model line soon I hope.

My brother inlaw who has been a die hard Ford guy, bought a new 2006 HD Crew Cab chevy with the Duramax and loves it. He got the new HO Duramax with 6 speed allison and can not praise it enough. On his second tank of gas driving it over the mountains here in Seattle to eastern washington he averaged 20MPG for his trip. He is jazzed and his wife loved how quite it is. I like the current pissed Chevy Avalanche look on the pickups. This has grown on me, but will have to see it in person to make a final decision. Hopefully the GMC looks even better. WHY WHY WHY RED! This color totally SUCKS! Must everyone copy Dodge and their damn ugly red auto's???? I would love GM to do a Very Metallic Black, or a Green Candy Apple. I am going to assume this truck will look so much better with a differant color on it. Over all, Cuddos to GM for finally making the trucks look differant than the SUV's. now if they can only do this with the Avalanche. It's unique look is what made it a winner and now that it has the same face as the SUV's, I am not sure it is that great anymore.

Hudson has a point about old cars not attracting the youth. Think about it, who really wants to remember the K-Car or any of the other cheap ass 80 and early 90's cars. Hell even the mid to late 70's were pretty ugly and non-inspirational auto's. Today youth like my son looks at the STI, WRX, Evo, Cobalt, Retro Mustang, R35 and this is what kids are into. They can look at the 60's and early 70's and see great road machines, but for the last 30 years auto's have sucked pretty much except for the rare machine like the early 90's monte carlo, the Impala SS of the mid 90's, the GMC syclone and typhoon. There are those rare glimps where you could find amazing machines, but the cost are just too high now adays. Auto Clubs will grow in some areas and die in others. Based on the cost of things this will tend to bring more and more seperation between the have and have nots that can really afford auto"s. We will have to strive to keep the memory alive so that it does not burn out and die.

This looks like a test mule to me, I think there is still plenty of change to come. At least I hope so as this is generic and just a clone stamp job otherwise.

GM Bans Dealer Premiums on Saturn Sky Red Line
G. David Felt replied to BigPontiac's topic in Heritage Marques
I went last night and looked at a fully loaded Charger SRT8, 43K MSRP. Drove it and loved the car. Really roomy and just flys. Sales person then upon returning to the dealer ask's me if I would like to sit down and talk. Sure, what is the best price off MSRP your willing to start at. Sales person say's due to these being limited production and special cars, the actual price is 53K + 395 for the sealant they put on the auto. I got up and told him with gas prices the way they are, people like me willing to buy a auto that sucks up gas is more rare than his car. Since he thinks I am stupid and will pay over MSRP, clearly they do not want to sell a car. I paused to give him a chance to change and say something like let me talk to the sales manager about the price. NOPE, he says I am missing the exclusive nature of owning a limited vehicle and plenty of people will pay what they ask to own this car. That must be it, I am missing something and I walked out and got into my CTS and drove away. Boy talk about stupid sales people. -
This is the same Jelly Bean Crap look that GM had that everybody bashed in the 90's. Course being Honda people will think it is manna from above. What allot of Crap, just tinny junk like all asian cars and not built for real americans. Wish people would wake up and stop trying to force big people in coffin cars.
-
I asked them to show the baby in real world situations. Would love it with a V8 and pulling a boat, camping, going to the ocean, mountain Biking. etc. The Auto Rocks but we now need to see it with other colors and out and about.
-
Why Bother. I for one at 275lb and 6'6" will never waste money on these auto's. Build a fuel efficent auto that fits real americans and stop trying to shove a big guy into a tiny death trap built for a small asian person. If they want to sell coffins, then build them and sell them 3rd world, Europe or asia. No need to waste bringing it here.

Give me the Duramax Diesel with 6 speed auto in a Caddy car any day!!!

I forgot, any idea of what the old horsepower and torque figures were for comparison? Also any figures on gas milage also for comparison? Thanks for the reporting, keep up the good work.
