I so agree with your comment, we have now given out 1.5 trillion for free to the leaches in the financial circle that supported Shrub boy and his pet Dick who we all know is the real handler. How people can B*&ch about a LOAN to the auto companies when the tax payers are paying 1.5 Trillion with no accountability from the banks and financial companies is beyond me. Interesting that Shrub starts his presidency with 200 Million in a so called Blind Trust and it is now worth almot 2 Billion. Dick has 4 billion in a blind trust and it is now worth almost 10 Billion and his company Haliburton moves their head quarters to an Arab country so they do not have to pay US tax's on all those special contracts they got for Iraq. Billions and Billions of tax dollars gone that right fully should be paid back to USA. Make Shrub Boy and his Pet Dick pay their illgotten gains back to this country. He can afford to live on this life long $250,000 a year he will continue to get and all those private security people that the Tax payers will still be paying for. Such a pathetic Gold Parachute this sorry excuse for a President gets.

Personally the dollars are already spent for the Camero, so you might as well let it go to market and sell what you can, if after the initial couple years of solid sales which help to recoupe the cost of the auto and it shows that it cannot live on it's own then you kill it again. Pontiac is dead and no need to waste marketing dollars on another me too car for them. Possible as a luxury mid level performance auto for the GMC - Buick mid level line.

I believe everyone here is in agreement that we need to save GM, GM needs to focus on a 3 tier sales model. Entry - Cheverolet Mid Market - GMC - Buick Luxury - Cadillac. GM Needs to Clean house to get into a successful 3 step approach and streamline marketing and options to maximize profits. Yes they have talked about doing tons of stuff to save every name plate but in a global world, you have to Maximize profits by reducing costs and this world Economy does not suport 7, 8 or even 9 name brands under one roof. Clean up and streamline to achieve profitability and success. The GM of old over reached thinking size and name plate alone would mean success, but we all have seen that it does not. Thank you balthazar, you are correct, the list is to answer outdated and erroneous perceptions about our own Auto Industry. People remember we started this industry and we can not afford to let it go, this country cannot survive on just service jobs alone. We must wake up and realize that is nothing wrong with hard work and being able to produce product as long as we also realize that not every job is a $100,000 a year job. In regards to GXT, I am amazed you are even on this web site when you seem to be so AntiAmerican Auto. Why be here with people that believe in American products and jobs and knows that GM along with FORD and Chrysler need to make Changes still to continue to get back to building World Class leading products.

Lets start by firing all these over paid CEO's, selling off the multiple Corp. Jets and get real about the executive staff taking cuts along with the assembly line workers to save the companies. Also start by killing off Pontiac, Buick and Hummer. Merge luxury models from Buick into Cadillac as their low end entry level auto's. Merge Pontiac, Saturn and Hummer auto's into GMC End result Chevy - GMC - Cadillac. Yes I own 3 Cadillac's (cts, srx & escalade) I own 1 Hummer H2 and my trusty 94 GMC Suburban with 300K miles and still runs awesome. Great for camping. But time to clean house and make rapid changes to minimize the hurt and get to a true competitive level.

If the Detroit big 2 are allowed to go under, we will see a recession worse than the 1928 depression. It amazes me how many people out in the press and in the local area say who cares, let them go under. Yes I know the executives and UAW are totally to blame, but due to the millions of jobs that are at stake, this country cannot afford to let them go bankrupt. The Tax payers have already bailed out the airline industry and taken on their pentions for the unions, I can see this also happening with the auto industry. Going to be an interesting first year for Obama.

Best thing to do every morning is to do crunches and work out all the gas from over night then you are Gas-X free all day naturally.

Actually both Obama and McCain are in DC right now working on this issue as they sit down with the lame duck President W and the leaders of the House and Senate to finsh the details. I respect both for going back to help get this done, but Obama is the one showing he can handle multiple things like a good president should be able to do. He has clearly stated in the press that if McCain does not show up on Friday he will hold the time on National TV as a town hall meeting and answer anything and everything. He is being very open and approachable to the press and people unlike McCain and his hidden VP Choice who is only let out for Photo Ops.

Either one I think would be better than a religous nut as president or one that believes for the sake of manipulating people to give them power.
