That was funny as HELL! I loved the commercial and for all those out there, get a reality grip. This was well done and I am glad to see GM stand up to BS like this.

BLAND< BLAND< BLAND or and so very conservative ugly just like the Camry.

The New Arcadia and other crossovers are nice, but after seeing the GMC product line at the Seattle Boat show, I was surprised to see a fully loaded Arcadia is 45K and they had a nicely equiped Yukon for 45K. IMO I would take the Yukon, I do not see giving up the space and comfort level for something so small. IMO

This is WRONG!!! I hate Toyota, but if they can make money at the same time that they own their own Tranny and Engine plants, GM can do the same thing. This sounds like a plan by gm MANAGEMENT to allow them to bring money into the company and hit their own Executive goals that lines them with stock, cash bonus, etc. America's biggest problem is the current generation of instant gratification, me first and no real dedication to long term growth and security for all employees of a company. Executives goals should be based on what security and growth they bring over time to the company. Selling Allison and increasing their cost is not going to help GM. Sorry but the example above is bunk, GM pays 800 at cost and sells for 1000 but can buy for 900 and still sell for 1000. BS, GM mgmt will not want to cut their own profit margins. If they sell Allison, they will up what they charge us consumers to keep if not increase their profit margines. Then we will have crap on our hands as they still have not totally gotten out of the rebate cycle as slow times will cause them to cut profit to maintain selling trucks. Better to keep allison, work on paying off the legacy debt of the pension funds and enhance the products as in the long run, they will continue to drive cost lower, increase the units they make and deliver. Far too many oportunities to drive a variety of products for 6 and 4 cyclinder engines with solid Allison tranny's backing up the new 4 and 6 cylinder diesels. IMO Keep Allison and GO DIESEL!!!

Yes another proof that Consumers reports has very little credibility in their testing. Truly alternative agendas exist at this magazine company.

Lincoln MKR Concept
G. David Felt replied to BB_454's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)
Interior has some nice cue's such as the information station on wineries. Love that. But over all I could not see it making production. The body of this auto is Beautiful. This in a RWD platform would truly give Caddy, Mercedes and BMW a run for the money. This is what Lincoln needs if it is to survive. -
They're getting ready!

I travel all the time to Germany and see these Death Crates on wheels. As a 6'6" american, I have tried and am not able to fit in one. To me you have to be stupid and crazy to buy and drive one. I just pick you out of my grill of my suburban. -
Boring and Ugly as all Minivans are but then these will still sell in large quantities to the large familys that need people movers. I totally agree, at least they are sticking it out in a segment they created and have grown. I do now more than ever believe that GM has done the right thing in killing off the minivans and moving to the crossovers. I think they will have greater success here.

Dude I totally agree with you, need lots of money for all the great auto's coming out. FYI, Japs is not the best term to use. A bit racist and has deragatory marks to WWII. Yea I know political correctness sucks, but Japanease did get us lazy americans to finally realize we needed to do things with quality since we were ignoring this important issue. GM ROCKS!!!

GM halts sales of Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia
G. David Felt replied to vineyard311's topic in GMC Trucks
Now back to our Regularly scheduled Discussion. GM IS Right in how they are handling this and it will be nothing but positive for them. Early purchases of these vehicles will find that a proactive approach by GM to make sure the end user is totally satisfied and are going ahead with making sure things are resolved properly will have nothing but praise for how GM has handled them and these are the people who will recommend and say "See, GM took care of me and my vehicle still is trouble free 80,000 miles later. Rock on GM! -
Thanks for the great info, I wonder if I will feel as cavernous as I am 270lbs 6'6" tall. Internal size has always been an issue for me. I hope it truly is roomy. Then my wife gets one of these baby's

Hat to say it, but while over all you are right on the stigma's. Question to ask is do we need the cheap Minivan Buyers? Most minivan buyers maker less than 45,000 a year and while DCX has the bulk of the segment, that segment excluding the over priced Honda van that goes to higher income families. DCX sells the bulk of their minivans in the low end category. I agreee with Lut'z. In brining GM back to a profitable growing company. do not waste R&D dollars on this segment. Focus on the growing segments. Crossovers and Sedans along with the new GMT900 platform for the markets. After all, China is a growing hotbed, might as well get the products that are selling like hotcakes in there also. I think Lutz is spot on this time about minivans. Also like someone else mentioned. How many people on this site really drive a minivan. I myself will never own a van or minivan. Do not like the layouts or designs, etc. I for one will stick to my Suburban and CTS.

Shareholder accountability is very important to every company and the board does need to take this into account. But not at the threat of a single person. The board should have no direct employees of a company in my opinion so that it can truly stay objective. This has been a major problem for companies. Just look at FORD, the Ford family has messed that company up more than helped it I believe. I know that some of the Board members are also GM full time employees. I am willing to accept this as long as the majority are outside individuals. This keeps a company on track for making better choices IMO.

I love the Look. Much better Grill, Love the clean lines. I never used my roof rack and took it off, I also took off the side body molding as it was ugly on my GMC Yukon XL. Clean is what I like. Clean Monochromatic. paint job. The only areas that should have chrome is the wheels and the front grill. My major bitch with the new Escalade is the over BLING job they did. Way to much chrome. The chrome should be an option. Only so many people like that much chrome and it is usually the rappers and jocks of a certian group that likes it. Mercedes and BMW have sold millions of dollars on their auto's and never needed freakin Bling. I actually loved the older look of the escalade over the newer version but Hope GM will wake up and make Chrome an option and just leave the large Caddy logo on back and drop the Chrome brick as it looks gawdy. This Yukon is clean and looks great. The only down side is I use mine to haul Trailors. My boat during spring and summer and my snowmobiles during the winter. It has to have hauling. Course I would love a Yukon XL with the Duramax and 6sp Allison. That would be da Bomb baby and clean like this one.

That is Drop Dead Beautiful!

Considering what they get out of the I5 now and with a Turbo can be a nice package. They need to move the I6 to the Current H3 and use the I5 in the H4. This would be hot as I am not a jeep fan, but hummer me baby with this.

I want to see a Duramax V8 with 6 speed allison tranny Suburban, Yukon and Escalade. I also want to see a baby Duramx, V6 with a proper 6 speed tranny in the trucks and mid size suv's. The baby Duramax V6 already exist being sold by Isuzu and I am sure they could have a 4 banger for the market also. Diesel is the way to go.

This Car is amazing. This would allow me to stay in a car. At 6'6" tall the current STS is too small and no one can sit behind me as the drivers seat must be all the way back. This auto I could actually haul people. When will GM realize that the STS is NOT a full size car. They need a car like this. I fully expect this awesome interior to make it to the STS and DTS within the next year. It is the best I have ever seen out of GM.

Thanks for the link. The web site in my opinion is not very good. Having to wait everytime you click on a link for a complete refresh. none of the concepts are available in the downloads section so not a great variety of images. There is much they can improve on. Have a more detailed engine section. Better detailed with immediate pictures on all vehicles including concepts. Looks like they use flash for everything. The loading is slow. My machine is fast and my connection, but accessing that site is slow. Need faster response. Not everything has to be flash. Thanks for the info.

"Take our cars, please!": Aspen/Compass Incentives
G. David Felt replied to Variance's topic in Chrysler
Dealers Scream for SUV (Chrysler) and Compact (Jeep). Man looks like knee jerk action by the Executive staff rather than proper research and marketing of a good product. Jeep CompASS = Chrysler ASSpen = Bad German Management = More potential customers for GM. Go GM!!!
