  1. I am all for this add program. Just one MAJOR ISSUE to address. EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION!!! The worst thing is visiting a dealership and the sales person trys the used Ford auto approach of BSing their way to a sale. Today more and more people especially woman do their research and it is really tacky when you go onto the lot and the sales person is an ignorant moron. Perfect example, I visited my local GMC lot and looked at the new Denali 07 version and the sales person is talking about how great the 6.0 liter v8 is and the adaptive head lights, etc. He had no actual real answer for the new 07 Denali, yet appears he had been reading on other vehicles. The Kirkland Washington GMC, Buick and Pontiac dealership is owned by the moron group. The same owner also purchased the Kirkland Ford, Toyota, Chrysler and Jeep dealerships. Some big auto group out of the midwest. Their sales people suck. Yet even my trip to the local Chevy dealer did not fair much better. Kirkland Cheverolet, Family owned for ever. Have bought 4 vehicles there and yet still even while they do a better job than most, they still have some pretty stupid morons that try to sell BS rather than doing a little reading and sell a superior auto. Loved the sales persons respons to what is the biggest engine I could get in the Avalanche. 6.2 V8 with 6 spd tranny. Auto or manual available. We'll i am all for competition and a side by side comparison will show that the Cumry is just not that hot. Rock on, heart beat of America!
  2. I thought summer was when the 2008 CTS was supposed to be available at the dealerships? If they are only then starting production, that would mean late fall or early winter availability at the dealership so a 2008 truly coming out in 2008? Crazy, it should be in production now.
  3. Very nice looking SUV, But can we get a DELETE CHROME OPTION? I want mine all monochromatic.
  4. GREAT, More sh#t to Break. Sorry guys, but these are BAD BAD BAD, Just like the parallel parking option on the Lexus LS460. While I understand the desire for people to become dummer and not have to think. Letting a machine do the thinking for you and not being responsible for your own driving, I do not see this saving people from accidents. I actually see more as people will tend to stop thinking about how to drive, how to check their blind spots, the head check , dual mirror check, etc. I am all for safety, yet we need to force people to be alert and this does not help this, it just says, ignore watching what you are doing and being aware of what is going on around you. The last thing I would want is a vehicle that locks me out of making a lane change as it feels it knows best for you and the same with parallel parking. THis is part of being a responsible driver, if you can not take the time to learn how to drive, then take the bus. No matter how sucky the US mass transit system is, if you are not going to learn and be responsible, then we do not need you on the road driving. One who loves new auto's and technology, but feels that some technology takes away our human drive to be alert and aware of our surroundings. Plus please do not forget about accountability. My thoughts on this technology. Hopefully it will come with an override switch to disable it.
  5. So why can GM not seem to realize they lost that all important flat floor in the new Suburban / Yukon XL? Ford even has this all flat in the Expedition XL. It is one reason I still have my 94 GMC Suburban. i can pull the 3rd seat and lay down the 2nd row and get a butt load of sheet rock or any other big items inside where it is protected. Better yet, my wife and I can have an icechest and our cloths and sleep in the back when we go on weekend camping trips. No need to actually pitch a tent, just bring the lantern, stove, ice chest with food and ourcloths and boom, an awesome camping rig. Boxy yes, differant, hell yes, will it sell? YES, differentiation is what will bring people to this product. For me, I will stay with my GM and Hope that GM will change the 3rd row of seats to fold into the floor and the second row to fold down flat with the back of the vehicle. Then all I feel GM needs to do is offer mini stage coach doors and a large flip up glass like the Excursion had and I will finally get my Full size SUV the way I want.
  6. nice job on the black out. While the orginal is very nice indeed, I actually do like the c pillar blacked out.
  7. I totally disagree with you. This auto is just what Chevy needs and the public will love it. The healights are great and give it the right personality. With America taking more and more Japan animation on TV. This auto will be eatin up by the youth. So much better than the crap from Scion.
  8. YEA I want a V12 powered Escalade ESV Platinum V series to replace my current 2006 ESV Platinum version. This will rock! :smilies-38096:
  9. Thank you Everyone, THis is one of the best threads I have read. Very informative and educational.
  10. Dude, it is just not the Dems but also the big time Repubs that love that tax money. Remember an Oil Man hooked on Defense sits in the white house.
  11. I understand guys that diesel is not for everyone but even then, look at what just came out of Geneva in the Press: At France's Renault (RENA.PA), strategy chief Patrick Pelata said a lot of hybrid petrol engines gave only limited CO2 reduction for a high price, and in the end they still performed worse than a diesel. "In Europe, a hybrid engine offers no improvement compared with a good diesel engine. With a hybrid engine, it costs you 1,000 euros to save a ton of CO2, while the quantity is priced at 30 euros on the CO2 derivatives market," Pelata said. I tend to agree here that the cost to the enviornment of a hybrid and all the batteries and the by products created to produce batteries is no better than driving diesel. In the end, we will eventually find a better replacement for gas. What that is I hope to see in the next 10 years.
  12. Please Launching Plymouth would be the stupidest move the company could do. There is already way to many auto choices and with profits being needed to justify a vehicle, I say it would be better to enhance current portfolios than launch or even think about brining back an old name plate that is pretty much useless. Let the old dog lay dead guys. The current 3, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler name plates is more then enough for this market and they can make a proper profit margin with these brands if they put out proper and correct product that people want to buy. They will get there I think!
  13. Totally Rocks, this would be loved by more than just the tuner crowd. I could enjoy driving this to work every day. Not a bad looking pocket rocket. FYI I am 40 this year So if I like it, I can image there are others beside the tuner crowd that would dig this auto.
  14. Unless your dealing with below freezing temps for extended length of times, months of back to back sub zero temps, modern day DI diesel engines are not needing to be kept plugged in. Alaska is the only place that I can see it makes sense besides a few midwest states where it is nice to have the vehicle start up warmer than just a cold start. Otherwise, diesel works just fine. My diesel always starts in the cold even though I have no engine block heater. Those are old days when it was hard to get the glow plug to heat up so it can start the diesel engine. IMO
  15. Personally let Chrysler die. The only good parts are Dodge and Jeep. Chryslers time is past and it should be retired. This would be good for all of the US and for GM and Ford. I know there will be those here that will hate me for the comments, but reality is that not everyone survives for ever and with the debt this nation has, there is no need for the tax payers to bail out and save this small section of the auto world. Let it die a clean death and take dodge and jeep and keep it rocking on those alone with tweaked product portfolios. IMO
  16. Even a 5K premium would not turn me off from buying a Diesel AWD CTS. This would rock. I take this over a hybrid any day.
  17. Diesel option in the CTS is gonna Rock
  18. Another COFFIN on Wheels. Wish the famlies the best in preparing for the funeral. I will never own one of these coffins. Just not worth my life over. Plus how ugly can you get, why does all sub compacts need to be a bean shape and ugly to boot.
  19. While nice looking, I still think these boats are over rated and over priced.
  20. I would like a White Diamond colored AWD CTS please fully loaded with the Diesel engine option. This Rocks!
  21. Windy, I would agree with you. The DTS buyers need to move to Buick and go exclusive RWD or AWD with Caddy. Good Points.
  22. The side profile is awesome, very well executed. The front end leaves a lot to be desired, very boring and dull. The headlamps are a true knock off of the R34/35 Nissan Skyline. I lover the upper half of the rear-end. The wing and tail lights are great. I even like the dual exhaust system. Yet from the top of the bumper to the bottom it just seems wrong in the execution of it. Here's hoping to a better product in the G8.
  23. I for one use it all the time. Just for everyone to know, I am a solid fan of the BOF Escalade and DO NOT want a Unibody version. I use my Escalade to pull my 27ft SeaRay all year long be it for fishing or water play in the summer. Funny thing is that while I really like the quality they put into the 2007 Escalades, I actually ended up in Dec 2006 buying what was one of the last produced Escalades ESV Platinum editions on the lot here in Seattle. Sandberg Cadillac. Got it in the White Diamond color and love it. handles so nice, yea would like some of the new features on the 2007 including the removed in 2006 so they could add it as a new feature in the 2007 option of you unlock your SUV and the keyfob sets the seat and mirrors and pedals. Unlike my CTS, this option was removed by GM, I have from the service department the internal doc that shows they removed this with no explanation and yet it came back on the new 2007 models. Pissed me off and I sent off a bitch letter that on a 75K SUV this should be there. My parents bought their SRX when it first came out and just got a 2nd one. They use the 3rd seat all the time, course it is for the grand kids as no adult can really sit back there comfy. But for the baby boomer crowd with kids or grand kids it works great. SRX really is a hot vehicle. Funny as my mom drives hers which is in the Sea Foam Green color and matches the trim on her house. My dad got his in the white diamond color. After seeing my escalade, he decided to trade in his truck and get another one since he liked the SRX so much. So dual SRX in my parents garage. Cadillac rocks. FYI, I wish they would do 2 things to the Escalade line. Make all the *@#$ Chrome an option as I do not like the bling including the large chrome brick on the back. Should just be the large Caddy logo. The second thing is give the body some unique body lines as it still looks to much like the Tahoe and Yukon. Those are 2 of the biggest reasons for buying the last new 2006 Escalade on the lot over the 2007. The dealership was happy to sell it to me but also surprised why I did not want the new 2007 model ESV Platinum edition. Damn chorme dings up on the side of the doors anyway. IMO B)
  24. They need to bring back a Syclone Version. Take small block 5.3 V8 and give it twin turbo's and all wheel drive. I loved the GMC Syclone. B)
  25. Could it be that GM still has not figured out how to build a profitable small compact? Or maybe it is the fact that the markets that GM sell's these engines into are still strong enough that GM feels it does not need to change yet. Reality, GM will eventually get there, but the key markets are more into V6 and V8's that GM needs to update than Brazil with the 1.6 or 2.2 engines. Yes I know these engines get sold here also, but their market share I believe is small in comparison to the V6 and V8 market. Just my thoughts.
