GM won all the Way! The two day shutdown was just allowing the UAW to posture for it's members. Funny thing is that those two days really helped GM by reducing inventories that would have sat. So Over all, yes a big up front cost, but long term GM will prosper!

Complain to the Stupid European Union who says auto's have to have those lights and that stupid single rear fog light and all the rest of the bull$h! regs they put in place for new auto's. Then have them build some real roads to compliment the autobahn. The only fun place to drive. Over all this Diesel ROCKS!!! Yea while all the exhaust is not pretty, this is clearly an early base line on this auto and not any where near production.

The posting on Yahoo had this comment that just made me laugh: GM , UAW Settle Strike! "Now we need to make some quality cars and take back market share from those foreign auto makers," UAW Local 22 President George McGregor said. What does he think they have been doing the last few years. Course I think for the most part, GM has been building quality auto's since the early 90's with a few lemons out there, not unlike the new big boy Toyota who seems to launch vehicles with cracked from Unibody's after a few months on the road FJ Cruiser, and self destructing cam's in their V8 engines, :rotflmao: We'll here is to a solid competitive race for #1 and the best auto's out there!!! :smilies-38096:

All is Good in the World of GM and Camero. Drive train, Suspension and chassis info even on a mule is as important as the final look. While I suspect it will still be hard for my 6'6" 280lb size to get into a camero, I will still love to see it back on the lots and roads as I am so tired of the MuttTang driving every where and no GM pony car to beat that glue horse back to the factory. GO GM!!!

Preproduction G8 spotted in dealership in Cambridge?
G. David Felt replied to ToniCipriani's topic in Heritage Marques
Nice Picks, Thanks for posting. -
Another Reason to dump the Unions. Nothing really good has come out of them in the last 20 years. They did good in the early days of this country with getting kids out of the factories and back into school where they belonged and forcing business to have a fair compensation package for the hard working people. Yet now they seem to be more about control and getting money for themselfs so the union reps do not have to work so hard. The government already gives you the right o negotiate for a fair pay and compensation package. Use your brain rather than give up your hard earned money to people who tend to cost the union worker more than they give them. I was a union worker once and never again. I will always hold my own destiny in my hands. No need to pay a lazy person to get what is already rightfully mine via my own negotiations with the company.

For those that said this could not be a camero mule as the exhuast was too small. This very well could be one as already posted, a Chassis and Suspension mule plus V6 Drive Train Mule. That exhuast would be just right for the DI V6 engine. That would give GM a competitive equal to the MuttTang. :AH-HA_wink:

Speed is nice, but wonder what it will really look like. Right now it does not make me want to spend 100k for it.

REVIEW: Smart Fortwo is lovable, but not the wisest choice
G. David Felt replied to Flybrian's topic in Mercedes-Benz
I'll Keep driving my 12mpg Suburban with 505HP and 550 LBs and pick these little coffins out of my grill. There is no place for them on American Roads. Here in Kirkland Washington, Across Lake washington from Seattle there is a dealership that imports these smart cars and they sell for between 18K to 30K depending on equipment. Not many but a few are allways seen and even my wife who says they are cute also says she would not want any family member or friend in one as they would be killed or seriously injured in it. Have not found too many people other than the extreme Green / Tree Huggers who would want this. I hate the Hybrid from Toyota and Honda, but would take that over this if I had to drive one for my ride. -
I love it!!! This car stand out from the crowd and that is what a luxury car should do. Cadillac keep the unique A&R going.

SPY SHOTS! 2009/10 Opel Insignia (Vectra)
G. David Felt replied to Flybrian's topic in Opel/Vauxhall
H'mmmmmmm Gotta admit it is nice but still just another average auto. Does not blow me away. Course I was not blown away by the concept car or even the malibu. Nicer than the units they replace, but still missing that gotta have it feel. -
My brother inlaw bought a fully loaded AWD Matrix. With his wife and daughter in the auto, this car barely gets up hills. His wife and daughter I think are about 650-700 lbs combined. Not small woman and he is 125lbs so about 825lbs in people being hauled and the car just struggles. I suspect that GM will kill it off once the contracts are fullfilled, but till then we will see an auto that will struggle to survive. Hopefully GM will continue to get more and more nimble on their feet. They need to react to market changes faster. Good point is Toyota has surpassed GM in recalls this year.

Choppin' Competition #44 - Trailblazer CPR!
G. David Felt replied to Flybrian's topic in Choppin' Competitions
Very nice update on the Trailblazer. My only dislike it what I have complained about all GM auto's with the stupid looking little antenna over the drivers section. Why not put it in the middle in the back of the Vehicle so it does not take away from the hot looks of the vehicle. I love my Escalade ESV, but I hat the antenna they have over the drivers side roof. Yes People have said I nitpick to much, but the looks of a vehicle are great and get dirtied up with things like this. It tends to tell me they were to cheap to run the extra 8 feet of antenna cable to put it in the back of the vehicle. -
I disagree with you, these wheels are busy and what a pain it will be to keep them clean. There are some amazing wheels on the market that are simplistic and easy to clean yet very distinct and in my mind superior to these ugly wheels. I do agree with you that a GunMetal gray would be kick ass on this car. Plus lets drop the ugly plain black. Go with a metallic black. Something that has more zip than just a basic ugly plain black.

I will probably get trashed by others here, but the Hybrid is a bit of a disappointment. "Malibu performance comes from two powerful yet fuel-efficient dual-overhead cam four- and six-cylinder engines, including a standard 169-horsepower (126 kW) 2.4L Ecotec DOHC four-cylinder engine that delivers 30 mpg highway, 22 city (’08 EPA); and an available 252-horsepower (188 kW) 3.6L DOHC V-6 with variable valve timing, rated at 26 mpg highway and 17 city. The Malibu Hybrid, featuring the affordable GM Hybrid System, also goes on sale in November. Powered by a hybrid version of the 2.4L Ecotec, it is rated at 32 mpg highway and 24 city. " I would expect the Hybrid to get more than just 2 miles more per gallon in City and Highway. Yes I realize this is bigger than that Coffin on Wheels Butt Ugly thing called a Prius.

Why is the 3 door more expensive than the 5 door?
-
This auto sucks The outside is very ugly and the inside is not user friendly to me. Probably like all asian auto's a 6'6" tall american will not fit. Yea people think the Asian auto makers make roomy for everyone auto's, but in reality they are just as prone to breakdown and no comfort room.

Win a trip to Frankfurt to drive the Saturn Astra
G. David Felt replied to Ed Hellwig's topic in Heritage Marques
I signed up Now to see if a 280lb 6'6" tall american can really fit in this auto. I bet if everyone was 5'8" tall you can truly have 5 people in this 4 door sedan. Yet with me this becomes a 4 door 3 person sedan. I need a "I LOVE MY SUV" smiley! -
Your right Oldsmoboi, this Mazda is very bland and boring like most ricer cars that way too many americans seem to be hooked on, especially the conservatives. Take the logo off and it could be a Honda or Toyota or any other Asian auto. Your right Northstar, this is just a bigger version of the Mazda 3 very BLAND and BORING. Nice tight body lines I give them credit for that, but over all nothing to light a fire under your dress.

QUOTE(Flybrian @ Aug 7 2007, 10:46 PM) Oldsmobile had some appealing cars. I disagree with you both, Oldsmobile has not had any worthy car in the last 1o years of it's life. In reality, There are still too many brands in the market. My vision of GM in the US. Chevy Fold Pontiac into Buick to fill the mid level market Saturn as the Asian fighter Hummer for off road luxury Cadillac as king. SAAB I see no use for, keep it in Europe or kill it off.

Toyota Electric Car May Only Have Half the Range of GM's
G. David Felt replied to CSpec's topic in Toyota
Accord has already been axed, they only have the Civic now. -
The H2 Line should have been moved to the GMT900 line last year.

GMC needs to take the Canyon and focus on the premium sales for a Twin Turbo performance version like the Syclone! That truck truly Rocked!!! Chevy NEVER built anything that was as cool or performed like that in a mini truck.
-
U'mmm NO, I disagree gm4life. The DTS has had it's time and while the sales have been solid, most people I truly believe will be happy to move from a FWDS DTS to a RWD DTS Equal. Caddy should be only RWD. Leave the FWD for Buick, the luxury entry level market for those that can not afford Caddy.

Sadly, that is the Stupid Euro Union rules that is killing the looks of some awesome auto's. All this pedestrian friendly auto designs and safety crap like a single read fog light. Having that one brighter read tailight sucks big time. Socialism BS that is screwing up good looking cars.
