  1. Paying Off some bills. I agree, the Idiot in the white house and his fellow rapers of our country have loaded us with trillions of Debt for his personal war and grossly large build up in his own personal wealth. No other president has created such a large divide between the elite rich and the working middle class. THis rebate will do nothing to the economy of our country and we still have these morons saying this is a slow down and not a recession. Yea right only about 270 days left or so till the end of a LARGE ERROR!
  2. I love all the suicide Doors on the 4 door buicks in the image.
  3. I say lets give him the first 100 Days test. If he can not get his hands around the premium brands and set an agenda for growing sales, updating the old Cadillac dealerships to be competitive sites, then a mistake was made. If he can, then we found the right man to lead and grow these divisions.
  4. I know that some of his repairs were covered under the warranty, but for what ever reason, he has had to pay and it has become very expesive for him. All I know is Chris is loosing his Rosey view of Toyota.
  5. Yea I agree, I have heard these same sort of comments from another employee who first checked out the Prius and then ended up buying the Honda. Weird
  6. Camino LS6 I can understand and respect getting your Irish up, but I would think there are better things to get up about than smoking. Too much evidence as to how bad it is for people. I would rather have every one around to debate on auto's, engines and track times than smoking. Here's to you some day kicking the habit and picking up a new one.
  7. At least it did not cost that much, reading the full thread, this was a used XLR with a little over 24K miles. Yet it will still be a kick as ride. Can not wait to see updated photo's.
  8. Sorry to hear about those of you addicted, I have lost way to many friends and family who decided smoking was the cool thing and they all died young. I will never do it, no need to start and expensive smelly habit. Funny thing is, my boss is an ex-smoker and they are more rude to smokers than anyone I know. 2 people in our office building smoke like crazy and even if they are not in the elevator with you, you can immediatly tell that they had been moments before as they leave such a strong offensive smell. I would have to say they smell like an ashtray probably smells. Happy that Washington State has gone smoke free in all public places. Makes going out for the night fun as the bars are clean and seem fuller than before.
  9. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE So to first answer the question, yes he drove it from Portland Oregon to Seattle Washington and said it was the most expensive trip he ever made in the car since the motor never stopped running. He finally got a call from the dealership today. Estimated cost to repair this is over $2500, requires a new electrical harness as they found 2 spots that are shorting out and they do not promise that this will fix the issue. They need to first replace the harness and then continue to diagnose the car to make sure nothing else is causing electrical drain. Toyota quality? So I will keep you all posted on the ongoing saga, but Chris is not a happy camper today. He road his bike into work and said it is a good thing he has a long ride home to work out his anger.
  10. Hello All, We'll my coworker Chris has been all about Toyota, He bought a Prius and then when the Highlander came out in Hybrid form, he bought it. Now Chris while over all happy with his auto's was a bit disappointed in the milage out of his Highlander, he actually figured it would be just like his Prius. But unlike me and my Suburban, he has allways taunted me as a destroyer of the enviornment here in Seattle and how much better he was for having his hybrids. Now Electrical hell is starting to haunt him. His Highlander has almost 20K miles on it and it seems to always be going into the shop for little repairs. But the big story is what you all want to hear. His awesome Prius, now that it has hit 65K miles he bitches about the repairs he is having to do. He has not yet hit 66K, but here is his list of repairs so far: New Battery Pack New Right front Electric motor New Solinoid for telling the auto to turn on New Electrical CPU as the display just died one day on his way to work and he could not see anything. Dealership says faulty CPU Engine Shut off Sensor Now mind you he has spent over 12K repairing this car now since he bought it at almost 7K over MSRP. The latest is that his wife took their cool little Prius and went on a business trip to Portland Oregon. According to him, her boss then had her do an emergency trip to California, so she parked it for the week at the Portland Airport. Upon coming in yesterday, she found her car dead, Not an ounce of juice to turn over. Chris drove down this morning and was not able to jump start it, finally AAA showed up and after an extended time, got the auto to start. I have talked to him since then as he is driving it up while his wife takes the other auto and drives home. The car is still running on the engine no matter the speed. Chris says he already called the dealership and is driving right to them to drop it off for service. He said the Service mgr said there could be a short somewhere. I will keep you all updated as I learn what has failed next on this world class Toyota Built Hybrid. So you spend 50K, retail purchase and repairs and all you have is a car that is nothing but problems after 65K miles? I think I will stay with my gas bill of $400 a month and enjoy my roomy Suburban. At almost 300K miles it just Takes a licken and keeps on Ticken like a Timex.
  11. My sister inlaw got a new accord and while it might be just huge for her at only 5' tall and she is all about the marketing so she thinks this is the best out there. For me at 6'6" tall, this was the smallest, most uncomfortable auto to sit in and ride in. Just like Toyota's, they seem to be a board for the seat and the controls are all busy, tiny and no space. Naw, this car might be fine for little people, but for a big american, this will never do.
  12. WOW, Talk about a Toyota knock off in the back and a Honda knock off in the front and a bit of Mercedes knock off on the side. 3 aged designs glued together to show as a new design, but already clearly dated. THis thing will make people think 2000 or 2001 by next year and yet it is supposed to be a 2009?????
  13. Like Everyone, I STRONGLY SUGGEST AN 8GB SD Card. With prices on Buy.com from $34 to $159, it would be the best upgrade you can do for your camera and minimizing having to download the pictures to free up the 1gb card for more pictures. I would also suggest you update the firmware on your digital camera. Due to limitations on earlier camera's that kept you at 1, 2 or 4gb. A updated firmward usually also lets you get the largest size SD Card and better results from your camera. Perfect example is on the EOS Camera, the focus and save time both got much better with a firmware update. Have fun, Good Luck and Hope NY does not end up smelling you up. That is one interesting city. How so many people can live in a tight place and have the stench it has.
  14. I could not agree more. Lets impeach the morons in the white house and the rest of them in both the house and senate for screwing up everything. Especially not taking care of Social Security, Medicare, etc. Everyone willing to say no Pork Barrel Fat, but not willing to actually do it. Sell out this country for an elite few and instant gratification and not think about long term of our country, our senoirs, and leading the world forward. We have lost our space edge, Technology on many fronts including H1 Visa's for workers due to the lazyness of people. Screw the Republicans and Democratics. Indepentant seems to be the best of all worlds at this point. Why do we have to have a socialist system of health care for everyone? You get what you deserve based on how hard you work. I am so tired of hearing people say they deserve this or that due to the way people have treated them or their relatives or a certain race. Yea now you got me on the soap box again. I will end now before it gets too long.
  15. $3.91 in Woodinville washington, good thing for converting to Veggi Power. Nice and Cheap to buy your oil from Costco and fill it up. Always funny to see peoples expression when they see you pour cooking oil into your gas tank.
  16. Thanks for mentioning about Autoblog. I checked out the hi res photo's and to me it looks like it has a B pillar. You can clearly see in pic 4 of 5 the top half of the center exhaust, the cool door handles and what appears to be a connecting piece support for the window that would bump up against a B Pillar. I know a few of you all love the idea of no B Pillar, but for safety and resistance against a roof cave in due to roll over, I suspect that GM will do that.
  17. That is going to be hot. While it would be nice to not have the B pillar, I can understand the Safety issue and I really do not think buyers will mind. This car will sell well and it will move. The DI engine I think is under tuned just so they can have yearly increases in performance and still have a good gas milage. Cadillac is back in the game as they should be, a true quality luxury auto builder.
  18. Figures, another conservative idiot that can not read signs due to the Shrubs wonderfull lack of funding no kids left behind.
  19. Hell no, they can not tell the differance if you stroke it out. To the untrained eye, my 5.7 is still the same engine in my suburban, course I have it stroked out to a 402 and that makes my SUV fly. I love living in Seattle, but the Greenies in Olympia are starting to get to the point where we need to bump a few of them off. Keep you damn hands off my engine size.
  20. 90's Generation Monte Carlo. Those were sweet rides unlike the ugly fwd monte they been pushing on people in the 21st century.
  21. You must be a small, Chicken Bone of a man. Go drive your small Sub Econo death coffin cars. It is amazing how many people only can see their way of life and what they think is best for the world. As a 6'6" tall 300lb 14% body fat American, I am tired of all the pencil dick people who think we have no need of big cars, big trucks, big SUV's. Being a man of average size in my family, I refuse to fold up my body and be a sardine in a can just to save a gallon of Oil. I have a right to be comfy when I drive around MY COUNTRY, in MY BIG AUTO! I have only 2 auto's, a GMC Yukon XL and my wife drives an Escalade ESV Platinum. Plenty of room for the kids, family and friends who hitch a ride with us and not to mention a totally comfortable ride when I drive to gymnastics meets around the country. My wife and I have actually already decided after being given an H2 as a loaner while the caddy was in for service that we will be buying one of these since our daughter will be driving. It is Roomy, comfortable, able to handle the family and a solid command of the road View. Ask yourself what is more important? Quality of life or a Gallon of Oil. The quality of life of my wife, kids and relatives and friends is more important than the cost of oil. With the growth of this country and the increase of Big Rigs on the highway, I would not trust having the life of my wife and kids in a compact let alone subcompact. Plus, when was the last time you sat 3 abreast with broadshoulder people. Yes I know not everyone is as big as me or my family, but then again, there is a solid reason to build very capable, roomy vehicles like Hummer. Go ahead and enjoy your tiny ass Saturns and hybrids and keep you damn hands off my right to have a large roomy auto.
  22. WOW, That is the ugliest Mid Life Update I have seen. Very Bland and clearly lacking in design DNA and Conservative. O'h wait, that is right, most conservatives seem to want to support the asian and european automakers rather than their own counteries builders. That Fake Plastics Gray wood reminded me of the exact same interior fake wood GM put in so many cars and trucks and has taken $h! for being cheap. Amazing how every American builder can be blasted for cheap looking interiors and yet the asian companies do it and they get praised for superior job.
  23. This is so COOL, I can not wait to have this hit the market.
  24. Ocnblu, as I stated I could be wrong, but weird part is I just got back from another wonderful trip to Hanover and saw a bunch of the cars with a rear white fog light. I know they used to be red, but it seems they have this oddly placed rear single white light and still also have the dual white backup lights. In my opinion, this whole rear fog light thing is just a waste of money and time and over thinking by the socialist society of Europe. I have yet to see any real value in the light. Back on topic, I do REALLY LOVE this XT Concept.
  25. If memory serves me correct, This is part of the Europe requirements. The rear single reverse light can also end up being the required rear fog light that Europe requires. Stupid and ugly in my opinion but a world vehicle like this would have to work both here and in Europe. Look at the Ugly Scion that has the single rear backup light on the left side bumper. In my travels for work in Europe I see that car everywhere and it acts as a rear fog light, notice me light that they require and get brighter when the vehicle is in actual reverse. I could be wrong but that is my thoughts on the reason for it. Not a big detractor in my book. Better than having one of the rear tailights twice the brightness that BMW or Mercedes does that always makes me think they have some other light out because of the off balance of brightness.
