  1. This is so COOL, I can not wait to have this hit the market.
  2. Ocnblu, as I stated I could be wrong, but weird part is I just got back from another wonderful trip to Hanover and saw a bunch of the cars with a rear white fog light. I know they used to be red, but it seems they have this oddly placed rear single white light and still also have the dual white backup lights. In my opinion, this whole rear fog light thing is just a waste of money and time and over thinking by the socialist society of Europe. I have yet to see any real value in the light. Back on topic, I do REALLY LOVE this XT Concept.
  3. If memory serves me correct, This is part of the Europe requirements. The rear single reverse light can also end up being the required rear fog light that Europe requires. Stupid and ugly in my opinion but a world vehicle like this would have to work both here and in Europe. Look at the Ugly Scion that has the single rear backup light on the left side bumper. In my travels for work in Europe I see that car everywhere and it acts as a rear fog light, notice me light that they require and get brighter when the vehicle is in actual reverse. I could be wrong but that is my thoughts on the reason for it. Not a big detractor in my book. Better than having one of the rear tailights twice the brightness that BMW or Mercedes does that always makes me think they have some other light out because of the off balance of brightness.
  4. Small cars suck and are not safe. You can not make a coffin on wheels safe in a freeway crash. Diesels, Sadly I disagree with him here as the cost of diesel is offset over the long run by the higher gas milage. Just a matter of marketing and with the right message you can change perception. My thoughts on the topic.
  5. Moltar, you need to go suck on your regular door handles. It is time for GM to move all their auto's to door handles like this. No need for something that sticks out, bangs on other cars and takes away from a sleek smooth surface. Door Handles is as out of date as Tye Dye shirts and the 60's! Other than that, you Rock! :AH-HA_wink:
  6. Hate to say it but your wrong about that Post being impractical. Drive a 93 -99 Suburban with Stage coach doors and you have that post. I know cause I own a lifted 94. Who cares if you can see out the back clearly, you have side mirrors and backup cameras now. Yes this post is wider than the suburbans, but if you look closely at the picture you can clearly see the backup camera which is a wide angle lense so you see everything just fine.
  7. QUOTE(blackviper8891 @ Oct 29 2007, 11:44 PM) Did they really need to uglify it to put the diesel in? I totally disagree with you guys, THis is NOT ugly, Just plain Strong Beauty. This is a Man's SUV, that can Haul anything.
  8. I would love to see this Vette in a TRUE Candy Apple Red that you had on the Chevies of the late 60's. Also Candy Apple Green. Those Metallic colors were amazing. A nice Metalic Burgundy would also be cool
  9. Part of me agrees, but if the plastic shroud also had noise canceling insulation then I am all for keeping it. I like the noise to only come from the tail pipe and everything else to be nice and quite.
  10. Uhmmmmm 18 city and 24 Highway for mercedes. I do believe the Tahoe Hybrid gets 22 City and I do not remember what was stated for highway but no matter how you look at it, I looked at the GL320 at the Seattle auto show and for a 6'6" tall person, it is NOT comfortable. The Tahoe beats it in every way.
  11. Yes traditional Glow plug diesels do not like start and stop of the engine, but a Direct Injection diesel is able to handle that. I wonder if it has to do with the glow plug that has to heat up before starting for a traditional diesel?
  12. We all agree that Cadillac is at least trying and changing / shaking things up to make the product line better and compete. Better than many other vehicle lines out there. At least you have diversity compared to the boring Honda Acura Line or Lexus, Infinity, etc. Point is we can all beat to hell Caddy or we can at least recognize that they are trying to fill various levels in the luxury line and grow. I would say positive feedback to GM on their current and future products so they can hopefully listen and make the right choices. Course lately, I have wondered if they are listening to those of us that like our Luxury cadillacs but with out all the bling crap. I woul love a new ESV Platinum but the only places I want Chrom are as follows: Grill, Rims, Door Handles and Roof Rack. Drop the body line chrome pieces that ding up, drop it from the rear view mirrors and especially drop the ugly chrome Brick on the back door. Best yet, go to an Auto Flip up Rear glass with Auto open Mini Stage coach doors. That would be far better than the Huge Grand Canyon auto up door it had now.
  13. I have Heard that Dodge is working on a Full Size Hybrid, but I believe GM will be the first out the door with it. Even Toyota will be behind GM in this area.
  14. :rotflmao: You crack me up!!! At 6'6" tall and no problem in that other department. I think it has more to do with a big man needing a big vehicle and me being very tired of everyone thinking we have to be in small vehicles, close to the ground and squeezed like a sardine with the rest of the population. Still you Crack me up! :rotflmao:
  15. Wrong place to compete in the X5 or Range Rover. The SRX is a competition to the R350 and R500 from Mercedes. Update the outside to mirror the new CTS Line and keep the SRX going. The Escalade can Compete against the Range Rover and X5 and use a all wheel drive BRX to compete against the X3 and LR3.
  16. That is exactly the kind of Challange a tuner will be looking for. Do not be surprised if we see tuner options at next years Sema show or for sure in 2009 show.
  17. You must be a short person to be complaining about ride height. This has been a major problem for GM. Look at the crapy Fords and Dodges and you find a truck with plenty of Clearance and offroad capabilities that sit up high the way a truck should be. It is about time GM finally got their trucks sitting up high with a solid view of the road. If you want to sit on the ground get a car or El Camino or import a Holden Version. Trucks should have at least a 15" clearance from Frame to ground if not more. Rock on GM.
  18. No it will succeed as those of us who drive these kind of auto's do not care about the gase milage. I have a 2006 white diamond ESV Platinum and love it. Who cares that I get 12 miles to the gallon. The auto is total luxury and a blast to drive on road trips as well as to work. I am always comfy and relaxed when I get to the office. That is what we expect of a vehicle of this level.
  19. We'll I have to say I actually like it. I would love this concept in a stretch version CTS
  20. SWEET RIDE!!! Too bad I have to go to Arabia to get one.
  21. Toyota has the cash deep pockets to be able to come back and adjust to get the formula right without being hurt for cash. Course no one could have predicted the Consumer meltdown in subprime mortgages and our Trillion dollar credit card debt addiction. THis is all going to make it a bit harder for Toyota, but they will still succeed due to their long term plan and outlook. Some thing most american companies are still not realizing. GM I think and hope has finally realized they have to think global and long term to be a leader. BIG QUESTION? How many of these stripped down models do you really expect to see on the lots. So far all I have seen is toyota dealers ordering them fully loaded and this has always been their problem. Toyota dealers think they can sell everything fully loaded and not have to deal with people who need cheaper auto's. At least that is what I see here in Seattle.

  23. SEATTLE AUTO SHOW THIS WEEK and WEEKEND! Can not wait to see all of the Generals new babies in one place. Spending all day Saturday there. This is Great news for the General and should continue to keep pushing up. At least the general has not dropped to 14 or 13% market share like Ford has. The number one Fix or repair daily truck in America. Soon to be replaced by the Toyota Turdra.
