  1. DF Nice job on the Door Alignment. Better than I have seen some shops do. I think in regards to the door trim, you will need to scrap it off and reaply it with fresh doubl stick tap to get them to match up. The other issues I would leave to the body shop as I think they will need a bit more work. The gap issue on the bumper could be shrinking plastic or more I think a missaligned bumper facia. The gap issue by the headlight is I suspect a brocken bracket that will need to be replaced unless the attachement point on the bumper is broken and then you will just have to replace the facia if you really want it correct or there is some short cuts you can do to get it to hold in, but never know what cold weather can do to cause it to break and pop again. Rust is easy to sand and prime unless it is all the way through, then you will want the body shop to do a cut and patch and they can grind it smooth and get it to look right. Over all easy body work for a person who does it for a living, nice learning points for someone that wants to learn. Good luck on your paint job.
  2. On the other side of the hall, an electrician, Kurt Moore of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., sat in a Toyota Highlander and explained why he was not going to buy American anytime soon. “You know how they say, ‘Never buy a car made on a Monday or a Friday?’ ” he said, getting comfortable in the passenger seat. “It’s because the people building the cars aren’t focused on the job. Well, how well do you think they’re focused today, with all this talk about how they’re going to lose their jobs?” ------------------------------------------------ Guess in regards to supporting his fellow Union buddy, this electrician has said screw you, but he fails to realize just how bad Toyota has had recently with their own products exploding or at least having major failures from engine cams, ball joints, body cracks on the unibody FJ Cruiser, etc. Every auto company has good times and bad. Fortunatly the last 9 years has seen everyone pick up their game and come out with better and better products, especially the Detroit 3, they just need a better message to get the word out and counter Idiot Consumer Reports and others. Sadly all Companies seem to go through up and down times and Toyota is entering their own down time. The next few years are going to be very interesting.
  3. Link seems to be broken, but from the pic above, that is sure an UGLY CAR and NOT EXCITEMENT that Pontiac needs.
  4. That Clarification I would agree with, the model line is a failure, butr the marketing and customization is the correct route to go with Pontiac.
  5. that is a killer idea and deal, Have fun, kick it up and take plenty of pictures for us to all see and drool over. Vacation like a rock star for all of us that cannot go on vacation yet.
  6. GM needs to move above coping the competition and the Scion brand is fadding fast for Toyota, they have lost their focus and way. This is NOT what GM needs to do. What they need is a multiple style approach of Niche perfomance for the BPG mid level strategy. Seems someone is actually thinking outside of the box on how to really benefit and focus this 3 step approach.
  7. I would say GM needs to start with Talking to the American People. Saturn's new ad with the Black man who talks about those companies who will take back your auto if you loose your job and they make lite of it by saying Honey I am home, Lost my Job, Lost my Car, what is for dinner. We believe in you and the value of your car with our program. I think you all have seen this ad. GM needs to step out of the box and talk to America, highlite the problems they have had and the route they are going to fix it, Focus on the quality auto's, cars, suv's & trucks they have, the high milage models and the over all plan they are doing FOR the American people. You need to highlite the high milage auto's as much as clearly state the SUV's / Trucks are used by Americans who Build America. Buy American, From American Company with the promise of us backing your payment, backing your value in the auto and more than anything backing your satisfaction with the best built auto's backed by the best warranty in the auto business. 10yr / 125,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty. Any company that builds a quality product and believes it can handle 250,000 miles should be able to back up this kind of warranty. With the Economic mess we have, straight talking to the american people of what you are doing for them, to help them and how they also help other Americans is the best ad they can do right now.
  8. Yes I totally agree. I even posted on the USA Todays web site on the story that they should save the tax payers money by just accepting his guilt and firing one bullet. It will save a ton of money and send a message to these idiots that we will not cower in their attacks. I say the navy should just shoot every Pirate that tries to attack a boat and kill them all and sink their boats and soon enough they will not have the ability to do this any more.
  9. True it has been around but not really in that distinct style. My parents Jeep grand Cherokee was not like that but then I have my hummers so for me it will always be hummer no matter how long Jeep says they been using it. Just glad that Jeep is keeping the SRT8 going, they need this to keep sales up and running.
  10. DF, actually Macco is not as bad as you make out. I spent a month Sanding the whole truck I had and I took off all chrome, trim, lights both front and rear. Had it pretty easy so when I took it too them, they reviewed the whole vehicle and pointed out some areas for body work that I said go ahead and fix and then I paid a little extra for some better paint and clear coat and still left with only paying out about $2000 + tax. The vehicle looked great and has been just fine. I would stop by and get them to quote you out for the work you want done, ask them what you can do to keep costs down and they will be more than happy to point out what you can do to keep the cost down. End result is you get your lovely car painted the way you want at a very decent price.
  11. ME LOVE The rear haunches look great, hopfully it keeps this whole thing intact. It will truly get my attention. Love the Hummer Grill.
  12. Over all I think this is good as those that hold the debt will end up getting a tax break against other profitable earnings. So this is the win they wanted and GM can finally clean house and get a fresh start. UAW, sucks to be you as you have hurt yourself with your greed. End result, if they properly position the business plan as a 3 tier company of entry level, mid lux level and Luxury, They really could end up with a Chevy, BPG & Cadillac formula that will work. This would save many customers and allow them to flush out Saturn, Hummer and SAAB. I suspect SAAB will truly die as will Hummer. The technology of Hummer will live on in other GM products. Saturn I could see as an independant company or bought by a India or Chinese company that gives them access to the US market. In regards to customers lost, very little as SAAB was not enought to really be noticed, Hummer is the same way, but most of Hummer people will shop other GM products again unlike SAAB customers. Saturn is the only place you could loose a noticable amount if it is not bought by another company.
  13. WOW, Talk about lack of EXCITEMENT! those auto's are just not emotionally driving. The evoke nothing inside me to even bother looking at them again. Very sad.
  14. They use these things all the time in Japan and Europe as I have seen them. This is the first one I have seen fail. Course probably due to the greedy NY scum for not doing the routine maintinance.
  15. All the cars are nice looking but I really do love your G8, that is the best of the three and the cream on that cake. Nice HOT Ride!
  16. Do you have the ultra luxury and extra High Voltage model???? Us bigger peeps take a bigger model!
  17. Bummer dude, sorry to hear about that, I can totally relate, my perfect 94 suburban got scratched big time today at the grocery store and the person was of the attitude of big deal it is just a car. Had to actually get the police involved so I could force him to give me his insurance info to get my vehicle fixed. I like you park far away and would rather walk than have people bang up my rides and yet it always seems to have idiots park close and damage your auto due to their laziness. Good Luck with the fix. Happy easter if you celebrate it or at least hope you have a better rest of the day.
  18. Traditional police cuff's or those special room padded pink foo foo cuffs? members want details!
  19. Today I learned that is really does suck to have team members that cannot think out side the box or communicate clearly.
  20. Here in Washington state it has clearly built two camps. The Tree hugging extreme liberals that want everyone in a Prius or on the bus and moving slow as the pedestrian is king or queen. Then you have the other side with a very strong Conservative group saying this is an invasion of a persons privacy with the cameras. Personally as a middle of the road Independant, I hate the cameras period as the police should have to be present to ticket you for breaking the law. I want people to be safe and respectful of everyone including those walking but I for sure do not want a free lunch which this is pretty much for the cities.
  21. I would be interested in the full size luxury sedan as the CTS is fine for the wife and I if we are not taking anyone else, but otherwise it is too small for me.
  22. Happy B Day, hope you both have a awesome weekend.
  23. I would agree, plus then you have that company there that builds and leases out the speed sensor cameras and red light running cameras to cities and states. If that is NOT a facist plan TOTALLY DRIVEN BY THE GREED OF MONEY, i do not know what is. Lynnwood washington recently put them in here at every intersection and they say it is for the walking pedestrians safty. BS this is all about the fact they cannot have cops on the corners 24 /7 and want to get more money and so this allows them to generate plunty of money. The city report shows that the cameras in place from sept to Dec brought in almost $300,000 extra dollars in revenew for the city to spend. How do these camera's not represent the greed of money?
  24. DF, I did think and my brain clearly said this over all style and design has been done before. This is just an enhanced version of what Jaguar has been doing. IMO it is nothing new or exceptional as a stand alone design. Is it a nive looking pleasing on the eyes concept? YES, very much so but they just took it one step further than Jaguar did. Again, what my mind responded to the images and how I saw it.
