  1. Let's also get real, Hybrids / pure electric only make sense in big cities with recharge stations and moderate weather. Seattle is a perfect example of extreme tree huggers going overboard on putting charging stations all over even having the first ones in the country on the passes as free rapid charging stations paid by your hard working tax payer. This weekend, these electric tree huggers who want to drive their front wheel electric auto's up the pass to go snowboarding ended up causing headaches for the rest of us in our properly equiped 4x4 or AWD auto. They get stuck, or just plain die at 12 degrees and heavy snow. They have their place, but that is in the city and they need to keep them there. It is a small market which is overblown. Reality is we can do much better with diesel, alternate fuels like Propane, etc. Many better ways than Green house gas creating Batter powered auto's. Yes for those that think they are saving the world, wake up to the fact that your battery pack in your Nissan leaf create more gas during it's productions than 10 years of a compact running on regular gas.
  2. So I sent another email to GMC about my Idea of the following: Terrain Typhoon Edition Black Chrome in place of traditional chrome. (yes in my eye's a metalic black or metalic red with the Black Chrome looks sweet) Even the limited run of bing cherry that they had on the escalade would look good with Black Chrome. Dual Scroll Turbo charged V6 Dash has carbon fiber trim in place of brushed aluminum Dash has a Terrain Typhoon Edition Serial Numbered plate. Seats have TT embossed into them. Floor mates would have Terrain Typhoon embossed onto them. All windows would be dark tinted. What do you think?
  3. How is the fit and finish, has it gotten better? How is the road noise? Could you see yourself taking this on a long road trip, 1500 to 2000 miles and not feel worn out at the end of a long 10hr drive day? For me I never thought there were blind spots, do you feel this vehicle has any large blind spots? Does it have remote start? Layout of the buttons, does it make sense or is it a jumbled mess? Does the cruise control work smoothly or does it speed up and slow down? Does this v6 seem to be thrashy at times when you step on it? Looking forward to your updated report.
  4. I feel the Terrain is a great CUV, but underpowered for AWD. With that said, I also feel GM has diluted the Denali package by putting it on everything. The Terrain is perfect for a Terrain Typhoon Package. All Black with a V6 Turbo.
  5. Love the clean simple interior. Look very fresh and looks like it will hold up very well. Go Corvette!
  6. A diesel mid size Dakota would be perfect. At 6'6" tall the small trucks are too small and yet I really do not need a full size. Here is to hoping they get a truck that has the style of the new Durango with the diesel in crew cab. That would rock.

  8. Thanks for the suggestion, I showed her them and she did not like the styling at all. Said it was down right ugly. The far opposite end of the Encore. I showed her the Granite which she really likes the look of, but now I see on that thread that it is considered dead as it might be to much of a competitor to the encore being on the same sales floor. I disagree but I can see GM being a bit gun shy after all the 80's, 90's and early 00's of rebadge hell. What to do, What to do, What to do.
  9. SAD Day Indeed if this is true. My wife who I thought would love the Buick Encore but found it too jelly bean loves the Granite and would take it immediatly in an AWD version with a turbo 4 or the DI V6. Sad now I have no Idea what to buy her for her college auto. Wife wants a bit of a butch AWD small size CUV with decent gas milage. Has to be American, GM, FORD or she will consider Dodge/Jeep, but right now nothing seems to fit. She does not like the small dodge versions or what she considers to be the ugly patriot from Jeep. She liked the inside room of an AWD Ford Flex we drove on vacation, but does not like the outside look as it reminds her of station wagons shrunk down. GM had the best new stuff coming and now nothing.
  10. We'll I guess I over shot in looking for my wifes CUV. She wants this size, but say's it is too soft, jellybean look. Something an excessive girly girl would drive. She say's while the size is right for what she wants, it needs to have a bit more Butch in it. It really does not say, I can handle going off road in style. Back to the drawing board for an american built small size CUV/SUV. I wonder if I can import in the new trailblazer as she did like the looks of that????? Some times wifes can be so hard to figure out.
  11. Acura not only looks dated, but just plain boring and out of touch with society. That on top of their stupid Buck Tooth Grill and plastic interior with cramped seats for us 6'6"tall guys. This is a car brand that will never be in my interest group plus on top of not being an american company.
  12. Personally I think the Terrain Denali is overkill. This would have been a perfect place to have a Terrain Black edition, Metalic black paint with Black Chrome accents and grill all over and tinted glass. Then have the Terrain Typhoon Edition. Avaliable in Matt black, Racing Blue, Racing Yellow and Racing Red with Dual scroll Turbo's on the V6 available in AWD only. Attention to GMC. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE DENALI EDITION!!! Hope they hear me. They could so have some very special editions on some models that are not a copy of their bigger versions. This would also be a perfect place to have a GMC Terrain "Hummer"Edition for off road use. Dream a Dream I say!!!
  13. Guess you can say this was being smoke tested for quality and failed.
  14. Just more to the party of small AWD CUV Options. At least GM will have it here earlier than later and that should help them grab a good share of the market. Rock ON GM with Buick.
  15. WOW, Talk about BORING and BLAND. The backend is at least a bit better than current but the front is a total dud of a refresh as Dodgefan states. Honda still has no winners other than their stable of blind loyal lemmings who buy anything they make even this bland garbage.
  16. My Wife will LOVE THIS!!!! Woman who want a small AWD CUV with a bit of Luxury and quite interior will love this CUV! I personally like the look, but would be interested in how cramped my 6'6" body will be in it. I know my 5'8" wife will fit.
  17. Any chance you can put the seat all the way back in the drivers side and then look at the rear seat for leg room? At 6'6" tall, while I think my 5'8" tall wife will love this AWD CUV, I might have to occazionally drive it and wonder if anyone could fit in behind me still???? Thanks,
  18. I now see the full picture of this CUV and find I actually like it. I believe my wife will like it as she is wanting a AWD small size CUV with a bit of luxury to drive back and forth to college. I have to say this will fit the bill nicely. Way to go Buick!!!
  19. Interesting design study. I find pieces I like about the car, but over all, I get this Jelly bean look and feel and it leaves me bland.
  20. We'll I guess I am not their target market as I see the R8 in the front and a mess in the back and they still have that stupid Buck Tooth grill in front. PASS, Car is an interesting design project and nothing more. Other auto's out there that are better, I will give them Kudo's for producing a hybrid performance auto. I think this will be the future for these performance cars.
  21. What I would love to know is can this platform be used for AWD versions. These cars would be awesome in AWD mode. Yes I know not everyone lives in a state with mountains and snow, but I think these would sell well as a subaru competition. Go Chevy!!
  22. Like many things, This type of technology will need the next 25 years to grow and show people that is can replace their current gas only vehicles. Just as computers took 20 years to get to a certian saturation point. This technology will also take time. Smart people will continue to invest in it for those that are happy with a Volt, Prius, Leaf type auto. So far, I do not fit in the small hybrids / EV / what ever other term you want to use. Till they have something that gives me what I get out of my Suburban 4x4, gas it will be for me.
  23. Not been a Ford Fan for a Long time since they detuned my lovely 1991 Ford Escort that Mazda built for them that rocked. Then I fell in love for my Excursion which is dead and gone. This baby besides reminding me of an aston martin, is lovely inside and out. Way to go FORD, Rock On!!!
  24. Love the variety of two tone interiors. This car is awesome and Caddilac really did a great job in focusing on the right segment. I believe it will be a hit.
  25. DOOH, Who let Homer write the news again?
