But it would be Cool to have a Caddy with a 10 or 12 speed tranny Just think of an Escalade with a large spread to handle both on road and off road better. -

Industry News: 95% Of Trips Can Be Made In A Electric Vehicle
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Yea, right, does not work for me. My daily round trip is 72 miles on hills getting into Seattle. Plus my daily side trips to run errands and get other things done. So how does a vehicle that covers 95% or in my case much less of my driving make sense? I would love to have an electric vehicle, but it has to have a commen sense 150 mile range. Hey Columbia, did you really ask detailed questions or just the moron question of how far is your commute from home to work and back? Yes most people could use electric auto's if that is all they did, but MOST people do many other things besides just driving to and from work. McFly Time to Wake up!!! -

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, Here I thought he was making a referance to eating up the vegi's on the trail. Nothing wrong with doing the vegi thing for a week or two. Great way to clean yourself out.

Yawnnnnnnnn Some booring stuff. They can talk all they want about new models, but I have yet to seen anything that really stands out even their design exercises are just so damn booring on the conservative side. That and the fact that my Aunt who seems to be caught up in their marketing keeps buying their auto's and yet she always complains about the fit and finish and 2 years later takes it back and gets a new one. WHY WHY WHY, It is amazing what people will get caught up in. Right now, Lexus is not that great of a car company, way better options coming from America and Europe.

GMCTruckGuy, I see your point, but one issue I have is that I feel GM has totally Diluted the Denali level by having it on every model they sell. I think the current GMC Terrain would be perfect in a Typhoon edition, Black chrome rims, Grill, etc with a Turbo V6 AWD limited Production run would be a Perfect Halo Auto. GMC Needs a Halo version Vehicle that would bring some passion back into what I see as a hohum product line with the same trim levels on everything including a bling version Denali. Not everyone wants a chrome bling version, some of us love our monochromatic vehicles with all the bells and whistles on it. Mercedes has proven that not everything needs to be chromed out. I email GM about this that they need to realize that there are plenty of people out there that want that sleeper look but still have all the luxury toys on the inside. With a smaller Terrain, I could see a pumped up 2.5T AWD as a Typhoon edition. Metallic black, Windows blacked out, the suspension tweeked to ride tight and the monochromatic version or at least a black chrome version to give it that sweet Darth Vader look.

Vegi's are very good for keeping a little jeep in top shape! Guess what mom said is true, eat your vegies and grow up big and strong!

Thanks Oldsmoboi for the update on the 2012, sounds like they are getting it closer to being dialed in as an excellent small suv. Still wish they had a Terrain Typhoon edition as I think a dialed in performance version whould be a perfect Halo vehicle for GMC.

Subaru News: Next Subaru WRX To Come With Smaller Engine
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Subaru
Smaller is fine as long as they do NOT loose Torque. I am so tired of people gushing over engines that have 8 or 9K redline with 300HP but only 200LBS of torque. I might be a very small group of people, but I want my torque equal to or a bit better than my HP so that I can move when I step on the gas even just a little bit and not have to rev it to the moon with a whiny tin sound. So far I have not been impressed with small engines even turbo models yet. Hopefully that will change in the near future. -
Industry News: Hybrid Vehicles Are Losing Their Appeal
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
That is cool to hear, I would be very interested in an AWD vehicle like this with a <1 liter turbo diesel generator. -
Hello Everyone, I am looking for input from those that might have some inside knowledge on the Chevy Trailblazer AWD SS. I am currently looking at buying a 2008 White AWD SS with only 36K miles, one owner, An Arizona couple that has had it garaged. I know the magazines talk highly about this suv and say check out the brakes, tires, make sure no aftermarket performance mods have been done. CarFax comes back clean with all maintenance done on it, no accidents and confirming the single owner. So the big question, being 4 years old with only 36K miles on it, what else should I look at on this baby. There does not seem to be a whole lot of info on problems or repairs. I am starting to see many of them show up at local dealers with between 50 to 150K miles. The corvette V8 engine seems to have solid reviews as does the power train in general. Motor Trend mentions that these SUV's can eat up the Goodyear RS/A tires and Corvette disc brakes, but does not mention much else. This auto is not fully loaded as it has cloth seats rather than the upgraded leather and it does not have the NAV system, but does have the sun roof. Also I run Mobile 1 on all my other GM auto's. Any reason I should not run it on this bad boy? Thinking of going all synthetic for it. Your thoughts and input is greatly appreciated.

The new X3 is butt ugly in my personal opinion. I think the X5 will end up being just as ugly if they use the X3 as a roll model. Not impressed with BMW's style direction lately.

Industry News: Hybrid Vehicles Are Losing Their Appeal
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
If we are going to say that Hybrids like the VOLT should be the future for ALL Auto's then let's take a page form the RV industry where they use tiny Generators to create power all night long to run the Heaters, Microwaves, etc. With this thought in mind, then we should be able to create an AWD Electric auto ( Electric motor at each wheel) and have a small 1 liter DI generator that charges the battery pack, This should be good for crazy gas milage and make all the Tree Huggers happy!
