Firebird Race car Stolen...FireHawk....
G. David Felt replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in The Lounge
WOW, All that for a car. Cool car but still a car. Makes you wonder if he had a customer out of country willing to pay top dollars for it to go into a collection or just the wrong pick of a car to steal. -
SAAB News: Saab To Live Again As A Electric Car Maker
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in SAAB / NEVS
Why do I see this as the GOV wasting money there to try and save union jobs on a dead product line. Electrical plug in SAAB will not save this company. I guess they feel with the down eruo economy, it was probably pennies on the dollar to pick up the pieces and give it a try. At least then when it fails they can say we tried one last time. I truly believe CNG is a better focus than Electrical at this time. -
Great Review, sad that they cut corners with the engine and mileage.

GMC News: 2013 GMC Terrain Denali To Start At $34,525*
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
Our famous and missing friend, PCS/Oracle of Delphi, stated long ago that the Theta platform was quite capable of handling off-road duty if the suspension was set-up correctly. The current set-up of the Terrain and Equinox is for on-road performance - aka "inclement weather" driving and light all-terrain duty. However, if a modest suspension lift can be installed, with meatier tires, an All-Terrain limited edition (not an Off-Road model) could be brought to market to capture an audience attune to such a vehicle. Jeep does this with the Compass (on-road) and Patriot (all-terrain) models, though we all know that with a little extra tuning the Patriot can be an off-road warrior too. My biggest peeve with the Terrain is that for a SUV-wannabe CUV with truck-like styling, it sits way too low to the ground. That would be okay if it was the FWD that sat this low, but I feel the AWD version should have some lift to it and extra ground clearance. My mom's '05 Saturn VUE V6 AWD (and the Gen1 Equinox & Pontiac Torrent too) sits higher off the ground than the current Theta's do. I agree that the Terrain should and could have a proper lift in AWD form and be a competition to the Compass/Patriot. GM should consider a limited version like this. I think they could get a nice profit on a built unit like this.- 49 replies

Honda loses money on every Fit sold here...
G. David Felt replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in Honda
Let your own mind do the walking. -
I agree that it looks like a good part car for E-Bay or would be a beauty restoration for a full size convertible if you had the time and money.

Cruze does well in MT comparo test....

Impressive comparo, but I disagree with their end result. I would have had the Cruze first, then TDI and Mazda 3rd based on their own testing methods. -

But a Sleeper entry level car with true Power would bring fresh blood into the fold! -
Honda loses money on every Fit sold here...
G. David Felt replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in Honda
You summed it up with HONEYCAKE! Sweet it is NOT! My son's friend has a FIT, loves the versitility of the inside, but has come to dislike the interior after seeing what other bought, but says it will outlast everyone cause it is a Honda. I told her that she drank a bit to deep from the CoolAid. She needs to release the cup and back off. -
I totally agree that the V8's can and will surpass the TT-V6 models when sold. The efficiency of a V8 can truly be optimized with better return on the dollars than a TT-V6

GMC News: 2013 GMC Terrain Denali To Start At $34,525*
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
Still like the Idea of a Black Ice Edition. GMC is missing out on a limited performance version of the Terrain IMHO.- 49 replies

I agree with the number Jockies, the GTR should have been a exclusive model to Infinitiy. Would have given it much better street cred.

GMC News: 2013 GMC Terrain Denali To Start At $34,525*
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
I would agree with you that if they do not do a limited version like I stated, a OffRoad AWD version as you state would be a Killer Production version for GMC. This would bring in the Jeep Crowd. 3-5 inch lift with big tires, take the crawl ratios from the H3 Hummer and give it some off-road manners. The body style already is tough enough to handle an Off Road version.- 49 replies

Too Funny, Humanity must be the problem, lets all kill ourselves and Mother Earth will be saved. Yea, I thought this study and finding was crock, hell I grew up riding in the back of Pickup Trucks holding onto the dog and drinking out of cups that had Lead paint on them and do not forget our awesome old station wagons that as kids we played in the back with toy's not in a car seat or held by a seatbelt. Everything can kill ya, I doubt this will do it any faster.

VW News: How Much For The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDI?

They could be expecting more lease it, trash it and return it drivers. -
GMC News: 2013 GMC Terrain Denali To Start At $34,525*
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
As I have stated in the past this was the WRONG Dilution of the Denali brand. $37,775 for a Denali Terrain with AWD and V6. WAY TOO MUCH! If they wanted something special in this small package, it would have been better to do a Black Ice Edition. Metallic All Black Monochromatic paint job with Black Chrome 19" wheels and fully loaded inside. Blacked out windows. This would be worthy of a $35K AWD small CUV. This is NOT the right way to go, FAILURE for GMC! Very sad. Only Denali worth it was the FULL Size Yukon XL and the Sierra trucks.- 49 replies

Would be nice, but I don't see that happening...it seems most Americans today want small, bland silver or white FWD sedans w/ automatics. The coupe market (beyond a small sporty/performance niche and a smaller luxury niche) is dead. I disagree with you Cubical. Right now the Coupe market is taking a breather. Just like everything, there is a cycle and people might be focused on families and CUV's but lots of people as kids get out of the house look to have a fun coupe to drive. I know I will be considering one in the near future depending on what is available. The Ecoboost does just fine when you keep out of the Turbo. People want their cake and to eat it too... if you use more pedal, you use more gas, why is that hard to understand? I got 27MPG out of an AWD MKS Ecoboost on the highway. That is a great number for a big, heavy, AWD sedan, with 350 hp and gobs of torque. That is good mileage for the MKS and while you get mileage, you have the power fun factor. So this brings up the long life issue. Right now even in small turbo models that I have driven and this does not include the last few years, but older small turbo's were great till you hit 100K and then ability to move the auto sucked. I wonder about the life factor of these small turbo motors. Can they pull 250K or 350K miles on a small 4 or 6 cylinder turbo motor?

We'll see...it seems like a long term trend as far as coupes going away...a lot fewer now than 10, 20, 30 years ago... True, but this is also due to consolidation in manufactures and the baby boom from the baby boomers. I think Coupes will make a come back as people retire.
