  1. Sharp looking little 2 door. I remember the old Scirocco that was here in the US was very popular. I am sure there are some that would love to get this car here and then sup it up. The Diesel Alltrack would be a smart move to have here also since VW has a pretty good name for diesel cars.
  2. +1 to the 100th There seems to be so many blan generic none effort designs that it is sad to see how many lemmings there are in the auto industry. The true winners will be the ones that can actually gain performance and fuel efficiency why pushing the true boundry of auto design. I believe we can still deliver stunning auto's without the bland Brick or Jelly bean design.
  3. I would tend to agree that with advances in engine efficiency, that this will hold more people off from buying a hybrid, but as they do get the price down, I suspect we will see all vehicles tend to move towards a version of hybrid power. This is based on the amount of torque and off the line movement gained from electric engines. I truly believe the next 10 years will show us some amazing advances.
  4. I not only have to disagree with you, but I find your statement to be totally arrogant! Yes AWD helps those that do not know how to drive or are very conservative drivers handle bad weather. Be it a heavy rain storm, snow, etc. Yet for those of us that have learned how to drive in bad weather from Ice storms, to compact snow and ice in the mountains to a heavy flash flooding storm, Having good driving skills and adding a bit extra of traction allows you to become an even better driver. If you live in a relatively flat Midwest or South and your biggest challenge is a mild hill, then FWD or RWD with Traction control or even without should be easy to handle for the rare snow. But get into true hills with a 45 degree incline/decline or greater and added traction is required and AWD can make the difference of being successful or failing and running into other people's property. Do not judge a person by their ability to afford AWD, doing so short changes yourself and shows narrow vision and thinking.
  5. Saw an old 50's era chrysler in my neighborhood that someone has in their front yard, will have to snap a photo and post for review.
  6. I am not saying it will not be a fantastic car, but where you love the style of Ferrari, I do not like it at all. I think Lambo is a far better style. VIPERS instill fear in others, This version of the VIPER should use all the technology to build a world class driving car, but keep the style to one that instills fear in others by saying I am not gonna mess with him. This current style is nice, but it does not instill fear. It does not say "Don't Mess with Me!" I get this I can beat most cars and I have no problem racing, but you might win. IMO That's because you can't hear it. Hearing has nothing to do with it, I am sure every one of us once we hear the burble of that Viper Motor will love the sound and feel the energy course through our vains. Yet the Style is subjective to a persons likes and my use of the Lambo is not for crossbreeding, but as an example of how they should have pushed the body design further. It seems to me they were pushing the envelop and then some freaking Honda jumped in bed and blanded it down to the level of a Ferrari.
  7. Hey Frogger, There is no slope side accomodations at Stevens, but you have some great choices in Leavensworth, WA about a 20 min drive down the east side of the pass. The German based town has some great Micro Brews and awesome German Food.
  8. Gotta love a cold wet spring for skiing and boarding. We have been dumped on the last few days and the riding does not get any better.
  9. +1 Agree! I totally agree with this, the best thing about photography is the time line you have. It is amazing to come back to the same spot year after year and take a picture and see the changes when you compare year after year photo. You can do this with sound, but does not seem to me to convey the same big impression as a photo. I have often thought it would be cool to capture a picture every 3 months so you can see a even better detailed change of the area.

  12. H'mmmm BMW supposedly the ultimate driving machine and yet 1500 services and plenty of recalls and breaking parts makes me have 2nd thoughts about German Engineering being better. My Friend and CTO of Dataram Jason has an M3. That nice looking bad boy is amazing to drive when it is running. Seems it spends plenty of time in the shop for parts failing and then they have to wait for them to be shipped in from Germany. Lucky for Jason most things seem to have been covered under warranty, but then the amount of time he is without his car is still surprising. One Kudo to BMW, at least the dealership here, makes sure your free loaner is the same model you drive, so he still has an M3 to drive like mad. This unlike the caddy dealership which I have bought plenty of auto's from always takes care of me and I have no complaints about them being 5 star. Just why a CTS AWD when I bring in my Escalade ESV AWD Platinum. It would be nice to keep driving the same auto. I will say this, Service on American Luxury is mucho cheaper than on German Luxury.
  13. Sad to see people who had passion for exciting cars passing on. Hopefully he passed his knowledge onto his own kids and others who have been inspired to create amazing vehicles. RIP Grumpy!!!
  14. I suspect that people are not lining up to buy this over priced electric toy. In todays economy, more people are going for function over form and a limited use vehicle like this has lost it's shine. Not to mention, people are a bit shy about trusting an unproven company like Fisker. This whole we can build it any place is a dela tactic due to a lack of customers.
  15. Looking at all the pictures, the new viper has grown on me. I clearly see the Viper DNA is there, the quality of the interior is a throw down to Corvette and any other High End 100,000 dollar performance car. The nicest I have ever seen on the Viper. The Exterior I wish they had pushed the envelope more in being truly Viper, I feel they cross bred the Viper with a Ferrari which I know is truly subjective as some love Ferrari and other do not. I would rather have seen it cross bred with a Lambo.
  16. Beautiful body, but doing a hatchet job with using the rear seat space to have the v8 engine and all the other hatchet changes, it would cost allot more to get it restored back to being close to orignal design. Sad day for this car. Love the color, looks like some light body damange, way over priced. JEERS!!!
  17. WOW, The dash is a chop chop mess, the butt reminds me of Hyundia, The front screams Honda and the C or D pillar depending on how you want to classify it is a major blind spot that idiot lovers of Toyota will buy and ignor and end up hitting other cars. I find people who buy the Avalon and Camry tend to be just stupid of everything else around them. They seem to take no responsibility for checking over their shoulders and mirrors and doing a safe lane change. This car will sell and we will see plenty of bumps and broken body panels. Over all, not sure who the Hell at Toyota seems to have the handle on style, but this is a F+ for Failure.
  18. The XTS will be a selling boom for Caddy to the retiring baby boomers. The pricing I think is just right for these people and with a better driving characteristic, it should also apeal to a younger set too.
  19. I totall agree, they should have used MyLink for the standard on all lines of auto's. Hyper, I also get your point you are making with RWD in snow. But as it should be, we build a better way and we should move forward. AWD is a better way and now we just need to take engineering one step farther to get it to where you get at least the same MPG on AWD as you would for RWD or FWD. Olds thanks for the floor pics, I do think the baby boomers will really like this XTS. I know my dad cannot wait to check it out.
  20. WOW, I have to say I am really impressed as this is a great starter car for many and a great car for low income people. This should really help out sales. Great Job Chevy, I think you truly have hit a sweet point that many people will like about it.
  21. So is the only way to attach pictures in threads is to first add them to your own gallery first and then into the thread you are commenting on or use a link to an outside hosting point? I will admit that adding pictures to a thread is not user friendly.
  22. Malibu = Fusion. Impala = Taurus This has not changed. Keep in mind the Malibu is now Regal size and shorter hence less rear seat room. This car is more XTS sized and will have a lot more interior room. It will also be wider. The interior and trunk will prove to set the size of this car appart. If you ever were in the back of the new Regal and the new Lacrosse you will understand the difference. Thanks Hyper, good to know this as I did not pick it up when I was last on a chevy lot with the older models. Just seemed to be two cars with different names for the longet time that you start to ignor them.
  23. I do not expect the Z28 to ever top the ZL1. The Z 28 will play a specialty model based on the 1LE model would be my guess. It will be a street ZL1 lacking the engine and extra weight. Think Z06. They The key is they have something special planned but just what? 10 years from now they will be Turbo 4 and TT V6 cars with a limited edition [read expensive V8]. The cars will be lighter and smaller. With less weight they will be as fast or faster 0-60 but they will handle better and stop faster. This is one car as long as you don't count cylinders will benefit from the down size. You figure the ATS Turbo is 3200 the Alpha Camaro will be right there with it with only a little more weight for the V6 and V8. Less mass will do wonders when used with the new magnetic suspensions. Thanks for the post, that leaves some food for thought.
