  1. In retrospec I would have to agree that his Chrome Monster is to compete with the Denali. BLING XD BLING XD BLING XD
  2. This is good to read, I have been worried that Jeep will get dumbed down to stupid FWD/AWD CUV and not be real off road Jeeps.
  3. I think what MB could not get with the Chrysler purchase they are finally doing in house and we will see a wide range of Econo Sub compact to luxury S series. I wonder how it will play out in the US. The rest of the world is used to having chevy versions of MB plus their high end luxury. Will be an interesting next couple of years for MB.
  4. Not a huge fan but I do have to say what I see is nice and I like the way they incorporated certain things like the rear door handle.
  5. hyperv6 I would agree with you on the alignment of GM's vehicles to better compete with what is out there rather than being in an ackward mid spot. I do not think they actually have to change size as much as just market it to let people know what they are competing against. In regards to the Suburban, I think both 1/2 and 3/4 ton versions can survive, but we will have to push the use of Lightweigth High strength steel and composites. Plus I think you could better use the Hybrid technology in the Tahoe by putting it into a Suburban. Over all, They could realy extend the life and have a LARGE pick up in sales if thy gave us our 4.8 L Duramax with 6 speed Allison tranny in a Suburban. Ton's of people who pull RV's, horse trailers, etc would love to get a new Suburban with a diesel.
  6. Sweet Spec's for this bad boy, I wish the Escalade had their SuperCharger v8 as a V options. I would love me some Escalade ESV Platinum V Edition.
  7. Guess BMW's way of getting people ready for the over heavy hand of politicians telling people what they can drive. Gotta protect you from you even if you did not ask. Not a happy camper on the overly heavy regulations.
  8. Notifications used to pop open a window and allow me to select the new ones to open in a new tab, I now have to open the notifications first before I can open the actual response from others. Is this part of the changes or a setting that was reverted back due to the software upgrade?
  9. It might gain small amount of weight, but I think all manufacturers, not just GM, have gotten religion about vehicle weight. Why would we not see GM push out using lighter high strength frames and body composite panels to reduce weight. I think over the next 10 years that we could see as much as 500lbs dropped in auto's due to the use of composite and lightweight high strength steel.
  10. I wonder with all the chrome, I have a hard time thinking v6, I wonder if a SRT8 or SRT10 could be shown for the truck crowd.
  11. I think there will be plenty of ways to make this little car fly wih after market parts.
  12. The NY auto show will be interesting to see what people think if it was the right move to go back to being bland or if they should have held onto the more edge nose design.
  13. I have to disagree, we will not see them die off as much as they get reduced to a niche player. Way to many needs that the Suburban/tahoe line handles that smaller SUV/CUV's cannot do.
  14. Uh, no. The inline six is more balanced and smoother than a V6 or V8 for that matter. I've driven the non turbo straight six in a BMW, it is fantastic. We are not saying that is not a true fact of the BMW inline 6, just like I thought Jeeps and GM inline 6 were amazing motors. But one has to realize like Balthazar stated, perception is that a V6 is more modern than the Log of an I6. Marketing has done their job. You would not believe the amount of people I have run into that wonder how BMW has survived with old I6 engines. Course their Marketing effort has focused on the driving machine, over all car peception, but there are still those that wonder about the engine.
  15. Here in seattle there is a chain called the Brown Bag and it was good when it first started and now just greasy bland large amount of food place that has become a greasy spoon. I think after getting a good name for food and meals you split with another person, they expanded faster and lost all sense of quality. Yet people seem to still go there just due to large quantity of food and it seems most are very overweight. +1 on the who we would rather discuss other places than this pathetic lack of style image. Poor Waffle House, my 94 year old grandma has found memories of the place, but they seem to be the dirtiest dive around.
  16. Not sure if I think this is a peach-keen idea, but working as a computer engineer and having friends that work on the Prius project, you would be surprised at how far some experiments have gone in regards to running the whole car from a tablet.
  17. Why do you think it would be 500lbs heavier? I doubt GM could make a compact RWD model under 3000lbs...I suspect the small Alphas will be more like 3400-3500lbs... So hedging your bets unless the new tie up culd help produce a sub 3K lb car.
  18. Just another normal day in Seattle from my work office. Love this view especially on sunset summer days, it can be very distracting.
  19. For cell phone camera's and your basic idiot proof pocket camera it is very hard but in some of the higher end pocket camera's and with all DSLR's you would want to use a tripod to stablize the camera and with DSLR use a remote switch, but this is the place to use a F8 to F15 stop and go for much longer exposure times so that you fill in the dark areas to gather the details. If you have the ability to use external light source or more than one flash you can do fill in to highlight the rest of the vehicle. One thing to keep in mind is at night, use reflective surfaces to bounce light onto the auto so that you get better detail. Your flash will always be the hotspot so you need additional light sources to fill in the rest of the overall image. Time Exposures are a great way to get details in the dark, but they require a tripod to help out with the time exposure. Have fun,
  20. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Guess I missed something growing up. I could care less about watching sports. Love to play them for a limited time, but could care less about watching or having tax dollars spent on palaces for these over paid jock's. With that said, Give me a good old drag race any day, auto show, camping, skiing, out in the world playing with friends and family.
  21. SWEET, I am totally excited for you. Looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. If you do pull the trigger, please get some pics up ASAP of this new Project!
  22. I can actually see BMW having to build a FWD Sub Zero Platform to meet emissions and gas mileage requirements.
