  1. Sweet, Turbo setup. I wonder if this is the same engine that will be in the ATS or at least a like version being this is FWD and the ATS is RWD.
  2. Interesting, give a good idea of where they are going, but as Olds Says, do NOT judge the fit and finish, this is a mule that will be crushed and destroyed when done. This is not what a customer should expect. I do like the Turbo Engine cover. I wonder if this is a twin scroll or single turbo? Anyone have any better details of this new turbo engine for Caddy?

  6. Altima is just FWD and a Nissan, though. Apples and oranges. I suspect one reason they are axing the G25 is a new smaller entry level Infiniti model is coming, I've read. But the G25x is not really selling and everyone says 90% of the buying public could care less between RWD and FWD. So this should not matter if the car is a solid built auto. Just like people do not think about Audi being FWD unless they get a Quattro model.
  7. This is so true about Honda, They have issues that might not be possible to fix until they clean house on management. This was the same problem at GM. A horse with blinders on will not see the danger till it is over.
  8. I agree with Cubical that I do love the straight 6, I had good experiances with Jeep, but V6 I have not had good experiances with. It would be cool to have small 6 or 4 cylinder CNG engines or Diesels.
  9. Why, you can get a nicer altima at a better deal. The G25x is their dead ugly duckling. These changes should come as no surprise to anyone. They have moved to get a little more competative with everyone else now. The real news is when they start to show off the new models to replace the existing ones.

  12. Yea, I avoid Pep Boys with a passion, I use Napa. They at least always have the parts or can get them fast and I have yet to meet anyone but smart people there that actually know product rather than just a follow the computer and replace a part mentality.
  13. WOW, Talk about the cleaning of the grill mess. That would not be fun to clean, I would have thought they would have welded and smoothed it all down for ease of cleaning. Cool but a waste of a nice car.

  15. WOW WOW WOW, I wished I could have got a photo. On the way to the folks yesterday, I saw a beautifully restored 1952 Dodge Pickup. Was very cool. I loved the curved corner windows in the truck so you really had no blind spot. The truck was a custom gold color, but boy was it beautiful.
  16. Well, this is a problem, as an awful lot of CNG conversion parts are being sold in this country. The EPA should either enforce it or let the end user have a certain amount of leeway, provided the sniffer test is happy. Do these use a tank? I like the idea of having an extra tank that is already filled at 1/2 gallon an hour... ready for a quicker fill up if needed. The PHILL unit is a Time Fill only system. The Small Q and Big Q units can have holding tanks for a fast or faster fill option.
  17. I have to Dis-agree with you and others here about a GM EcoBoost V6 version. I remember the last time the industry tried to put V6 into trucks, Ford blew actually, terrible engine. Dodge has not had a pretty history either. The V8 with Auto in the Dakota was just as fuel efficient as the so called V6 with manual and if you kept your foot out of it was even better. I know as I bought a V6 with 5 speed manual and the milage sucked, for the 250K miles I had the truck, I never got better than 16 and this is a fact well known. A truck is a work vehicle and right now the history of V6 powered either Natural or Turbo is terrible for the US. I would rather trust a 4 Banger Diesel or V6 Diesel in a full size truck before a V6 Gas powerplant. I DO NOT see the V6 being better than a small block V8 in a full size truck. The people buying up the F150 will prove this point as I predict the engine will die of much shorter miles life than a small block V8 and the fuel efficiency will not live up to the over blown EPA numbers.

  19. I agree that we need to end distracted driving, not really sure that having states pass laws is the right way to go versus a single law that all states should enforce. Sad the video about the little girl who got killed on the dot web site. I do wonder if this will really make a differance. Washington state has distraction driving law, texting law, cell conversation only with Blue tooth device, must be hands free. Yet I see thousands a day as I ride the bus to and from work that are on their cell phones or worse, putting on makeup, shaving, eating a bowl of food. So just how does demanding states to pass laws change this behavior? Seems a waste of time, If the FED's are to dictate rules, then dictate one law and move forward, not a series of cray state laws that are all different from one another.

  22. Perhaps this is the case for dedicated CNG vehicles, but there is no way dual fuel vehicles are not running emissions equipment. A few searches online and you would see that there are special CNG catalytic converters. Apparently, running CNG does not damage gasoline catalytics... and also the gasoline cats are ineffective on CNG exhaust. This article describes a Pentastar V6 being converted to dual fuel and no emissions parts were disturbed... http://www.popularme...-to-natural-gas A few other interesting things noted in this article... The opinion here is that DIY conversion is going to run afoul of the Clean Air Act and net you $5K a day fines if you drive your modified car. Also noted is that NFPA bans storage of CNG in a home, so filling is going to be slow. The article does not mention if outdoor CNG storage would be legal. You are correct, if your caught, as Canada will do cheap converstions that are not EPA certified you end up having to pay big time. Home CNG fueling is allowed, the PHILL unit that goes on your wall in the garage is an overnight fueling at 1/2 gallon an hour. Yet with prices for CNG at home running from a low of .68 cents to $2 a gallon, the savings over the long run add up. You can also for your home get a Small Q or Big Q fueling system. They are 1.5 gallons an hour or 3.5 gallons an hour fueling. So you can fill up much faster, but these units are required to be installed outside. A honda civic GX CNG is a 300 miles on a tank full or about 27 mpg per their web site, so filling up overnight at home is an easy thing and you always have fast fill fueling stations you can use also. GM Bi-Fuel trucks have a total of 655 miles using both CNG and Petrol. Funny they will not state gas mileage but will say you should get about 355 miles out of the petrol tank, so that would leave you with 300 miles on the CNG. Your still for either fuel around the 14-15 miles per gallon rate.
