Hydro Baby, that is why our electrical rates in Washington are so low in comparison to the rest of the country. We do have plenty of water to turn the generators. Now to just keep the tree huger in check as we move to alternative energy like CNG as these tree hugers want to take down all the damns.

Two-Mode Hybrid system is $10,000+

This is a perfect example of why they need t advertise this more. -
Over all a great review on this minivan, as a people mover especially for those that love all auto's Asian this will sell. Interior I like except for the placement of the shifter, same bloody place in the last two versions and I hated it then. Exterior, I am glad you showed it besides the Japan version as I love the Japan version, they should have sold it as is here. I think they watered the body down for America. Why? What makes them think we are more conservative than Japan when it comes to design? Over all great review, Interior is nice except for the cargo space and shifter and exterior body get a thumb down for me. This is a deal breaker as the styling is just blaw!

Check out the Solar Kits Costco sells, the pricing has come down greatly and these kits I believe will speed up the use of Solar on homes. http://www.costco.com/Common/Search.aspx?whse=BC&topnav=&search=solar&N=0&Ntt=solar&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-US Happy Shopping.

Boy have you hit the nail on the Head, the current BMW interface is hell to use just to make basic things work. I really doubt the engineers who came up with the bmw wheel and interface never has had to use it in the real world.

Nope... lots of car companies are doing it, esp w/ hybrid and electric cars. Think how cool it would be to cruise up a Leaf and have the sound of a Peterbuilt instead of silence.. Something like this might just happen as the blind have filed motions with the EPA over the silent operation of these cars and how they are dangerous to blind people all over as you just do not tend to hear them. They are asking for a minimum standard car noise to be generated so it can be heard.
-
It'd be interesting looking under the hood, but rather pathetic going silently down the road (despite the 500 lb weight advantage the '57 enjoys). C-57s should rumble & growl. Could add synthesized engine noise as a number of car makers are doing today..green hot rods are going to be a growth industry eventually, I think. I am going to make this statement here and now: PERFORMANCE ELECTRIC MOTORS!!! I truly believe that there are those out there that want the VOLT/PRIUS/LEAF etc but want better power/performance and I think a person who had the right skill set could build a replacement performance motor for the hybrids that could do way better than the OEM's could. Eventually rebuilding gas motors will go away as rebuilding electric motors will replace them as these auto's have a generator to deliver the power needed for long road trips. The VOLT and Prius are the only true long range hybrids in my book that can truly go on road trips. Yet I love the room and size and the true electric drive of the Volt over the Prius.
-
That could Rock my world too!!! How about a tri-five Chevy w/ a Volt drivetrain..that would be radical... I could go for that as long as the generator/motor ran on CNG!
-
Good thing we do not have many people who remember that. No need to confuse poor lemming buyers.

So many choices and so little time!

I would love to have a 56 or 57 Chevy but with a modern underpinning including a 350 ramjet crate motor. Course would love a rat rod with the chevy 502 RamJet crate motor. Go Big or Go Home!

I like this idea: EcoPush V8 Makes way more sense and communicates more to you in just that phrase than the confusing skyactive which I still have no idea of what Mazda is trying to sell other than small cars.

That is soooooo Freeeeeekin Amazing!!!!!!! Fuel me up and call me blue!

I am not sure about that, given the near-worship of DOHC in the last 30 years or so. As with anything, point out the benefits over the alternatives..... I really should have been a marketing major.... This is far easier than most people realize, yes you will have the die hard lovers that will not even look at anything but DOHC, but then you just smack them upside the head with facts that leaves them dazed but allows the rest of the world to understand the benefits of American V8's. You do not even have to mention that it is a push rod. Just stick to simple facts of horsepower, torque, etc and point out how it helps the end user accomplish their needs. Americans want to know how they can save money while still playing and getting their desires done. Focus on this and how they have JD Powers and Assoc blessing and you will win.

Do they not have 1 year leases? I would think there are people who love to change auto's enough that a 1yr lease is perfect for them.

I agree that before we build more plants that leave a destructive waste by product, we should invest in alternative green forms of power generation. This thread could go very political, but the point being is the public needs to demand that our government stop overloading on overseas issues that really do not affect us and focus on rebuilding American infrastructure so that we can move towards dependance. This will require kicking the oil habit and there are many ways to kick that habit as I will cover in up coming alternative energy issues.
