  1. Very nice Monitor, those here that use mac's and have the 27"thunderbolts then plug in their 24" dell monitor to do multimonitor and it seems to work really well.
  2. Very cool good to know that tuning requires taking the SQL server offline.
  3. I agree, I grew up not bothering to celebrate holidays and even now, rarely do, the wife bought stuff for the kids this year as always and we did not even exchange anniversary cards as we hit 21yrs of marriage a rarity today. But figured spending time with family and going up to play on the mountain was more important than the gifts. Family Time before all else.
  4. Honda Crosstourer and Nissan Juke, both win the butt ugly award from me. Worst yet is that people buying these auto's seem to NOT be able to know where their corners are as the auto's I have seen around Seattle have scuffs all over the corners. Clearly idiots that cannot drive.
  5. That is cool that they have a system in place to try and keep the auto's clean and usable so they do not get trashed.
  6. But what about the accessories? No person can ever have enough accessories! Beef, after New Year return to work and people who bitch on the last couple days about needing to get their certification done so they can meet their MBO for the year and why am I not returning their calls, email etc when my out of office message clearly says I am on vacation from Dec 21st to Jan 2nd. Freaking stupid morons, your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part.
  7. My current work has me with a Lenovo 530, 16gb ram, 500GB SSD, NVidia Quadro K1000, i7 - 3720QM with docking station and 27" monitor. I have to say that this setup like all past experiances with IBM rocks Have had failures with Acer and cannot ever recommend their products. HP are not bad but had some flakey issues. DELL Rocks also as desktops and laptops. Over all I would recommend IBM for a long term laptop.
  8. Yet as more use this service I doubt people will care about the auto and I suspect they will end up trashed as I have seen of the few Zip's in Seattle. That is one thing I have noticed about City dwellers, they tend to not care about taking care of things. I admit I will never be a Zip Car user, but I do understand the market and need for the Inner City Dweller.
  9. Very nice, I only wanted a Supercharger with Cold Air Chiller kit for my Trailblazer SS, but I was happy with the movies I got to add to my collection. Almost 1400 Movies now all DVD/BlueRay!
  10. Bad News: The dealership is given a D- for performance on the video, C+ for repairing the Auto initial issue and a F for breaking some other item to cause return business.
  11. While I see value in a service like this for a select group of inner city people, I do not see this being a mass market use here in America. I can see this more in use in Europe or the Asian Rim.
  12. Very Cool indeed!
  13. Keep the Cuda a Hot SRT8 with the right mix of luxury and performance and you have a winner.
  14. Bad News: Most of the recording is not viewable due to the x rated nature of what went on, on the hood of the car while in the shop.
  15. A ham sandwich would make a better CEO than Akerson, but that doesn't mean its a good idea. A grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich is always the best way to go! Then again, if we could only find a young CEO with the leadership quality of Lee Iaccoca then I would say GM has the ultimate CEO.
  16. Very interesting, I can see this as a valid use by inner city folks not really needing a car the majority of the time.
  17. Glad to hear it works so well, Saw we had a SQL issue last night as the site did not respond from home.
  18. Bad News: Police say they will not allow the recording to be submitted as evidence.
  19. While it makes sense that rural small dealers would not really sell many volts, GM should have had a better roll out of who could and who could not have the volt. As the Oklahoma dealer is Qouted as saying, with the ELR, it only makes sense to invest in the tools and training. As Hyper has mentioned also, with DI and turbo engines, small dealerships are going to need to invest in the future and realize they will not see the return right away but will in the long term. This is the problem with many american businesses, wanting to see instant gratification rather than investing for the long term. Dealerships that endorse and train on the Volt, DI and Turbo Engines will be the one that stick around while the rest fad into the history books.
  20. So when I am home I will take a closer look at joining for free, but am wondering how defined the segments are? I already tried to look for my 2008 Trailblazer SS and Escalade ESV Platinum and it does not seem to give those categories so how would it truly rate the quality, service, etc of that auto if you cannot enter in those select features?
  21. Interesting, I have learned more about ZipCar than I have ever known before. I wonder how they grew when I really see no advertising for them at all. Including fuel is a nice feature, what else do they include in comparison to a rental company and how does a car get services/refueled? I assume you always bring it back empty or as low as possible.
  22. Yes, sort like the neighborhood Enterprise rental car or U-Haul...I rent cars from Enterprise when I do a weekend road trip or a truck from U-Haul when I've had to move furniture to my storage unit.. But then why spend the money on ZipCar, why not just add this feature to your options. I am sure Enterprise or any of the other rental companies could do this also. It is not like ZipCar has a deep bench of customers to exploit.
  23. Very Cool, I love Spec sheets like this to see what each model comes standard with.
  24. Thinking on this, maybe all rental companies should go to membership programs where people could use them as a 2nd or 3rd auto for special needs.
  25. Inner City and Campuses tend to make sense for this model of business, but I have a hard time seeing rapid growth outside these markets. Not to say that I might or someone else might not come up with a way to influence suburban people to take this concept on as a 2nd or 3rd auto. I guess if you do not need a truck or 4x4/awd for mountain trips, then it might make sense for one to have an account where you could quickly get your hands on an auto for short term use. See and there is where it might still have growth is by marketing a new approach on how to sell ZipCars.
