Mini News: Mini Lineup To Grow To Ten, No New Body Styles Though
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in MINI
Blah, the bulk of the Mini Lovers have their cars and now they are just putting frosting on the same old tired Mule and it will cost them. I do not see them increasing sales but canibalizing existing sales with no gain. -
Chevrolet News:And Now, The 2014 Chevrolet SS
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
So after showing a SS concept that people loved. They ignor what the people want and went with a Blah v8 car that will sell limited and just blend in and not stand out as a SS should. Swing, Miss, Hit the shower. This was a lost opportunity for GM and they now truly are showing the bean counters are in control with no passion for anything special. SS should have been special.- 102 replies

Ram News: 2014 Ram 1500 To Get A Diesel Option

Yet if GM also gets in the game, betcha they will reconsider it and especially if the Asian brands get a diesel into their trucks.- 14 replies

Industry News: EPA: More Gas Mileage Audits Are Coming
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Very True, my 2008 trailblazer SS averages 12mpg well below the estimated city/highway as it gets 75% of the time city and 25% highway since the wife drives it daily to college. Yet on a road trip I took, I reset the MPG and averaged 28 with my Corvette V8.- 18 replies

Interesting, very nice design. I can see it selling well in Europe. Course if the Politicians did not tax everything so freaking hard with the socialist we provide everything, they would see more sales, jobs growth and people going out and about and wanting CUV's / 4x4's. The European Union is destroying growth with the provide everything attitude.

EPA Reform I agree is much needed, but then changing anything anymore in our gov seems to be political suicide and everyone is only worried about keeping their golden parachute job than to actually work for the people of this country and make real change. At least this gives home owners and businesses a way to save money for using alternative fuels.

Holden VF Commodore SS Sedan Gallery (link)
G. David Felt replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Heritage Marques
Thinking on this, I guess one could say they have given a bland design that allows Tuners to come out with all kinds of Body kits and Performance modifications. So the After Market should do really good. But then why not make your top of the line car more distinct in the first place. -

Chevrolet Cruze LTZ RS or Buick Verano Leather Group?
G. David Felt replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
See if I was a younger person, below 40 I would go with the cruze, but being 45, I tend to like a bit more luxury in life and would go for the Verano. Course you also threw a monkey wrench into this as you now say your wife likes the Encore and you would consider the Terrain. My choice here is that if the wife was to drive this as her daily driver, then AWD Encore and make her happy. Happy Wife, Happy Life! If the auto is for me to drive mostly, then the AWD Terrain, I love the manly butch design. Get the Denali package but have all the chrome bits Black Chromed to go with the Black Diamond paintjob. That would just rock, course I would love to have the DI V6 turbo charged also so it really rocks Typhoon Style! -
Industry News: EPA: More Gas Mileage Audits Are Coming
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
3rd party verification and real world driving should be required. Highway, average speed for 30 min = 65mph City driving, must include stop and go for 30 min, average 15mph for 15 min then 25mph for 15 min, then 10mph for 15 min. This is just a quick example of what the real world testing should be on OEM programming. I know from chatting with a few friends, they do game the code that the engine, tranny run on to maximize fuel economy and then take the programming to the best average for reliability, etc. It is getting better that with modern electronics that the coding is not to far off between fuel testing and real world car, but then we would not have 3rd party programs that can give better HP/Torque if the OEM was not so wide spread in their coding of how the engine and tranny work. I think we all agree that EPA needs to either start using 3rd party verification, standardize on fuel economy testing for world wide and if they do not want a 3rd party then test it themselves and stand behind their testing.- 18 replies

Done and Done. True and at the auto show I showed her the Encore. Likes it but does not love it. She saw the pics of the adam that were done and loved the look.
-
Wife loves SUV's, AWD, The Adam brought over here in AWD fashion would be a cute small CUV. Wife always said one of the domestics needs to build an AWD CUV to compete with Mini.

Nothing there to buff on the right. Maybe that would be Polish it away!

Cadillac can honor the past with a modern take on fins without the crazyness that went with the old fin days.

Previewing The Chevrolet SS Via The Holden VF Commodore SSV Showcar
G. David Felt commented on William Maley's article in Holden
Still reminds me of the Ford Murader which was cool but sad. This has a buick butt, Chevy Front and over all looks like they just cobbled parts bin pieces together. I am not really that impressed with the body. The interior is far better and the power train is cool.- 3 comments

How about they actually do real work and testing rather than just write up documents and assume the companies actually test.- 18 replies

Morgan Stanley Auto Product Guidebook (rumors)
G. David Felt replied to cmattson's topic in General Motors
I would love them to do a real Full Size Top of the line that has a real name. Agree with all stated here and that Caddy has a rich history to pull a real quality name for. -
Would not be the first time Chevy had dual Identities, but I think the cameo is truly covering the new look.
