  1. Blocks are Blocks, I do not see this costing much, but I would think building the heads with cadillac logo's on them and the valve covers as a start and giving the rest a personalization so it really reads Cadillac would go a long way with peoples perception. I agree GM needs to start engines with Cadillac and build their luxury image as special for the brand and then allow use of the blocks in other lines. Starting off with saying this is a chevy engine we will use in Cadillac does not come across very well. Example is how many lemmings buy Accura and pay the premium for a honda engine. When honda was sponsoring F1, they would introduce engine elements into the accura line up as their Formula F1 proven technology and yes it would also show up in Honda products, but not with the fan fair Accura got to put on it.
  2. The more I look at this car, the more I wonder just how or why they would put a nose on it like this. It would seem to me to cause unneeded air drag as the edges would cause wind to build up and resist against the car rather than smoothly flow around it.
  3. Is it me or does this have some of the front end on the Oldmobile Drawings? Seems that funky front I have seen someplace else also. Main body reminds me of a Datsun 280Z with a funky front end. Not bad, but not great either.
  4. I think these engines worked fine as long as you did the maintenance and took care of the needs that come with a turbo engine, but as we have seen. Most people only want to drive an appliance and do nothing to it so engines that require routine maintenance tend to fail early and had many people complain about it when in reality it was their own fault. While these were not the best engines engineered, they do last if taken care of.
  5. Agreed, the FWD/downmarket mass production will hurt not help BMW/Audi/MB.
  6. Hang in there Drew, Spring is around the corner and life will only get better.
  7. Craigs List
  8. A proper review of what is current in the market from a marketing standpoint needs to be done so that GM can best understand how to put a twist on having a superior V8 beat the Marketing Fluff of a twin turbo v6. GM has always done a terrible job of market research and market understanding to build a proper story that drives people into the show room.
  9. First question, what does MPLS stand for??? Agree with Drew and OcnBlu that advertising has already disappeared and the Encore which was awesome to sit in at the seattle show should be on the floor for people to get in and check out. It is a home run hit, just have to let them sit in it and sales will come.
  10. Don't think the pricing will be comparable BMW 1 & 2 series are chevy priced.
  11. Sounds like someone wanted his golden parachute, did not get it, saw there would be no more he could take from investors and exited stage left. Now we see what the investors will do and if they sell the technology to out of country companies or keep it American.
  12. I agree that all auto makers should have a couple lines that are just fleet whores and let them be built solid to withstand the abuse of fleet rentals so people will then want to go check out the rest of the companies products.
  13. I have to say that I am not a real fan of this style for this full size SUV. I see they are trying to bring the family together into a consistent style design, but I guess I will have to see it in person to see if it really works as this just does nothing for me
  14. I will put up my 1994 suburban to anything Germans build. 225000 miles and like new. If you do the scheduled maintenance and wash, wax and take care of it, any auto can last and be rattle free. To many americans have gotten into a disposable mind set and I just want to buy and drive and not do anything and then they complain about the car not being well made. Yes American made auto's were last to building auto's that had 100K mile tune ups and other maintenance at 100K, 200K, etc. I have seen many BMW/MB/Audi auto's that have trim falling off, clear coat paint is peeling off and it smokes oil out the tail pipe and the auto is only a few years old. Every Auto maker has their good years and bad years and one cannot just assume the Germans build the best.
  15. If 4Wheel Parts gets a lift kit package, then they could have this as an 80's themed 4x4
  16. I wonder if BMW will not dilute their brand with having Chevy equal products??????
  17. This will be a mess for them. We all know that small quantity items have higher costs and support will also be a nightmare. MB will pay for this mess as the dilution of the AMG brand is going to happen. They need to learn from GM, Ford and Chrysler about not diluting a brand. AMG is going to become a hag.
  18. The kids were probably thinking about how to put it on blocks and steal the wheels.
  19. Grow it back, I actually like you with longer hair. Then maybe if it was cut business white collar short it might be good too. I like you also better on the bike you are thinking about sneaking out than the BMW.
  20. Plan is to refurbish my daughters 99 Durango suspension and possibly convert it to run on CNG. Plan to replace complete exhaust system on 94 suburban to go quiet again. Wife hates the 3" straight pipes with Muffler tips. Very load inside under hard acceleration. Detail inside and out all my auto's this spring. But will start on those that do not go up the mountain as it is still ski season.
  21. Bad News: Your Ex used the stored sperm to nock herself up and is now asking for child support when the baby is born.
  22. This is a great story, about time CNG got some positive press. I think more and more fleets will change and as stations get built out then we will see more and more demand as people decide that 1980's prices per gallon are far better than the current Petro Prices. Thanks for catching this and posting it OcnBlu
  23. Surprised that with the hybrid they did not keep an equal footing on power. This heavy lookin station wagon is going to be a real slow boat to china I suspect off the line. Good to hear Drew just how nice GM's products are compared to a luxury model.
  24. Massages
  25. You could always invite him over for a home cooked dinner or go with the beer or better yet, if there is a 4wheelparts store close by, give him a gift card so he could get something for his jeep.
