One thing that seems to have disappeared from the roads are the 80's and 90's era Suburbans. I wonder if they got sold and shipped overseas to 3rd world countries that have cheap gas.

WOW, this takes me back in time when I would hang out with my friends, cruise down to Lake Washington with everyone in the bed and enjoy the summer weather. Too bad people are not willing to take accountability for their actions so that stupid politicians have to make laws that say it is illegal to ride in the bed now. Talk about buzz killers today. Nice truck, I too see the rust that OcnBlu is talking about and would pass on this one.

Saw a new 2013 Mustang convertible on the bus ride into work today and sure enough they had their top down at 5am in the morning even though the sun was not up yet. Crazy peeps.

While there are certain attributes that I do like about this car, it seems they have really lost that butch in your face image they have built up and gone with a more feminine style in the body design.

Is it me or does this look like a rehash of the Honda Civic style. Bland, boring and just forgettable? Also what is up with that 1990's center dash? Did they just pull this out of the bin of discarded starter images from the 90's? This is a let down if they are trying to just kill it off slowly. Reminds me of how GM, Ford and Chrysler have let their auto lines starve for new products. Nothing here to drive sales.

For some reason this auto just underwhelms me. It just leaves me blah and forgettable just like the annoying Prius's that go 10 below the speed limit in the far left lane. This I can see selling to the tree huggers, but otherwise will be forgotten about.

Overall I really do love this Durango, I agree with Ocnblu that I too am baffled by the chatter of discontinuing this lovely ride. They really did take the interior to the next leve, the dash and flow of the everything is really well executed and makes this a great drivers SUV. One thing that I see now more than ever in the Front End is the Cyclon look. I feel like I should be seeing a red glowing eye in the middle of the grill going back and forth from side to side. Over all I do really like the look front, rear, side and 3/4 profile. This is a great auto. One thing I wonder about, is that 3rd eye in the lower air damn an infra red sensor or is it part of the excessive nanny devices to cause your car to break early and sense the traffic when you are on cruise control. I so hate the excessive nanny devices.

You mean option, and the ATS-V isn't even out yet. So there really isn't any American luxury brand alternative. My only real problem with it is for a RWD car that has a big and ungainly front overhang, and that navigation is literally a tacked on afterthought. I would have thought that MB would have at least used their own logo design for the circle vents. The whole dash is a mess of after thought. While the ATS-V is not out yet, I still think for 48K you can get better American cars without the name or the cost that goes with repairs and maintenance. $48K I would rather have a Camaro or Mustang over this car.

Would make a great project car to swap in the 2.9L Duramax to replace the original diesel if it is there or junk the 4100. Either way this would rock as a ride with this baby Duramax.

I have to say that I like both and in regards to CANADA, We just need to Anex them into the America, after all they are the little sister America never had just like Mexico is the little brother. One common currency, no borders, just one happy democracy!

Seems they are wanting to go head to head with the Dodge Durango in terms of features and people hauling. I take the sexy Durango over this ugly slab.

It's nice, but I doubt the supercharged V6 will really offer any MPG gains and that most will just go with the V8.

Outside looks great, interior dash is terrible, the screen looks like an afterthought, the two vents look like dear in the headlights or breast you pick, it has a terrible problem with a knob by the shifter. Reminds me of the Terrible BMW knob system, I forgot what they call it. Over all it might be considered minimalist, but it also looks CHEAP for an interior. Not Impressed!

Over all I think this car will sell well for Buick. I am glad to NOT see a ton of chrome and bling in the dash or around the car. Over all pleasing design, but I do have to say that the Tail End has become very Asian in design. This one looks like a mad at you face. Interior I like very much, great flowing dash, clean and not cluttery, big improvement on what it was.

WOW From the front it looks like a car on Steroids, the side and back still has that traditional minivan look, the front dash is a cut up mess and over all unless you love mini vans, I see nothing pleasing here. The only COOL Feature is the built in Vacuum. Course wonder how often that will break and be asked to be fixed under warranty. Still a market for these beasts, but I will pass.

This car truly puts BMW and MB on notice and says to the world, this is a World Standard Luxury sedan. Comparing this next to current BMW and MB equal models and they look so stale/dated. I do not have the time, but it would be nice to put the same 3/4 front and rear image along with the default basic stats and price in a spreadsheet and post it here as a comparison. My gut tells me that Caddy just smashed the competition with this sedan.

I would pass on this as I have seen others in better condition without the rust for this price range. If you are looking for a cool project and can get them to go lower and the main body and floor is rust free then it would be a solid starting point with it's rare manual. You can pick up decent insulated liners for the inside to really give it a custom look and feel. My gut tells me this is far more rusty than it is showing and it would be a black hole of money before it was done.

So far based on what I have read and seen in pictures I like this car from all sides. I do not like how they keep getting lower and lower to the ground as that really makes it harder for us tall guys to get in and out without doing deep squats all day long. I love the variety of interiors. My Beef, All the NANNY Devices they are incorporating into the auto's. This I feel is still WRONG! Why WRONG you ask, simple. if you do not like to drive, take the freakin bus, taxi or have someone else drive who will pay attention. Having a auto that will try to sense and force you to accept when it brakes, etc I see causing more accidents than preventing. Computers can still not respond as fast as the human brain and I want the auto to do what I want, not what some GOV is telling it to do. If there is no way to turn off these stupid NANNY devices, then my ability to buy newer auto's will come to an end. New auto quality is at it's best ever, but then also is the complete discard it when someone hits you. All this aluminum will tend to cause these cars to be sent to the shredder and I think we will find less and less older auto's on the roads in the future. I agree with Dodgefan, I do think that Caddy has hit this one out of the ballpark. I hope this is a trend that will continue with all new auto introductions from them.

America's Strategic Petroleum Reserve
G. David Felt posted a topic in Alternative Fuels & Propulsion
G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - CheersandGears.com Since the 90's people in both the public and private sector has stated America needs to have a Solid Energy Plan. One that gets us off the hook to importing oil from other countries and allows us to have a cleaner place to live. A plan that can make things efficient without taking such a huge chunk of money from peoples paycheck. Going back to the first Oil Scare of the 70's and the attempt from American auto companies to supply efficient Pinto's, Mustangs, Camero's, etc., the US has had a Band Aid approach at best to how we deal with our Energy Consumption. Here in the 21st century you find pure electric solutions, hybrid solutions, BioDiesel Solutions, a desire to go more Nuclear and the latest hot interest is to use our World largest deposits of Natural Gas to secure our independence in the form of CNG. T. Boone Pickens who made his billions in Oil has been pushing his own agenda for the last 10 years of CNG (compressed Natural Gas). He also has had a vocal position on America's need for an energy independence plan. Now he proposes his thoughts on America's Strategic Petroleum Reserves. Go to this link, watch his video and sound off on what you think of his stated position / proposition to what some feel is an important American cost, The Strategic Petroleum Reserve. http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20130320194051-27307105-let-s-rethink-the-strategic-petroleum-reserve?trk=eml-mktg-condig-0108-p1 Video only is here: Does what he say make sense for America?-
