  1. Sounds like Australian economy just got it first bubble pop. Things will probably start to cool off there now. Hope so as Holden builds some damn nice auto's.
  2. This is to be expected, why would anyone want to be in California and deal with the mess of trying to run a business there. Course if they are bankrupt, does that law really have merit? This is going to be one ugly mess of a shutdown. Be interesting to see if the courts throw out any requirements from the EPA for their loans and allows this to be taken over by the Chinese?
  3. As you say, we each have the right to love or hate a style. Hopefully the next CTS Coupe you can learn to love.
  4. That is a nice Jeep Truck.
  5. So my dad sent me this email and I am wondering if there is any truth to it. Are these up around Detroit? These are actual billboards in Detroit , Michigan put up by GM. This is definitely cool ! NEW CHEVY BILLBOARDS POSTED AROUND DETROIT I have to say that if these are real billboards, then GM needs to do this across America.
  6. Camino I have to actually disagree with you as I love the look of the current coupe and clearly so do many others.
  7. I would pass on both as repair cost on them is high based on my own searching for parts. I would hold out for a more generic American made auto that would be cheaper to repair.
  8. China is not known for originality, they are all about conformist.
  9. Over all we can go with bigger non turbo 4,6 and 8 size engines and run them on CNG with a cleaner longer life than on petrol. Allaround far greener and better for everyone than to go to rubber band turbo's.
  10. I have to disagree with the story that these older electric cars are beauty. Course it is in the eye of the beholder, but todays GM Volt is way better looking than these old ugly cars including the Chinese green turd.
  11. I was just about to give up on seeing if there were any real pictures or updated stories when Bing found me this. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/kicking-tires/post/detroit-electric-sp01-first-look/2013/04/08/2838fe8c-a080-11e2-bd52-614156372695_blog.html Finally a real picture of the new Detroit Electric car. Range is from 139 to 188 miles. Top speed of 155mph. http://detroit-electric.com/ More photo's on their web site.
  12. Japan has an aging population with a minority of youth and this is truly affecting their ability to build exciting dynamic auto's compared to the youth, tech heavy future of Korea and the revitalization of the US market. I see the Japan brands having a few more years of stagnation before they wake up or have to merge. I still do not see Mazda or Mitsubishi as stand alone car companies in 5 yrs or even here. We have not see the finish of the consolidation yet. With Europe at the start of what will be a long recession, we will see more companies disappear.
  13. Any updates on this baby? I am interested in what it looks like and if there is really people willing to spend $200K on a sports car what is the specs in more details.
  14. Medical Drama
  15. Yup, it does look like wood trim.
  16. That is when you ask for an extended warranty to make up for the loss of life on the tranny their moron lot boy just took from you.
  17. True, Diesel is a requirement and I think Hybrid is going to be. I think a SRX built on the VOLT hybrid system would do very well here and in Europe.
  18. Toyota is on the road to repeat GM's history. They have so many Ugly Rebadge jobs. The Camry/Lexus twins is a perfect example of ugliness. Sadly many are so drunk on the Toyota punch they will overlook the lack of quality to keep buying this crud.
  19. Interesting story, NO to a wagon makes me think the current mgmt has no long term plans for Europe. Yes to the coupe is a given, I see them everywhere here in Seattle and people I talk with just love them. The High Tech crowd at least here has pretty much gone away from the M3 to the CTS Coupe V. Americans are waking up to the quality of American Auto's. Talked with a cousin who had a Tahoe and no problems, got convinced by a coworker to trade it in on a toyota Sequoia and she has had nothing but problems with it and seen no better gas mileage. She told me she is waiting till her second year and then going to trade it back in on another Tahoe or maybe the Yukon. Since other than gas mileage, she had no problems with he Tahoe compared to the Sequoia. I think they need a coupe in both ATS and CTS version, I can also see a Wagon on ATS. This might be better for Europe if they do not do it on CTS, but I actually do not see much dollars spent on going from a CTS sedan to a wagon.
  20. Weird, but the image is not showing. Based on Binging, I am going with the following: Bandit, Bandit, Bandit The Sentinal Beverly Hills Cop III Not sure on what the fourth movie might be since I have no picture to look at, so just a guess for me.
  21. Saw Brand new TDI Bug walking to work this morning.
  22. Sad to take a good looking car and not have a proper family of engines at the start. The people who actually know cars and can tell a delayed turbo lag engine will be the ones talking about it and being negative, this is NOT what you want at launch. They should have had a complete line to make sure you had good press from the get go.
  23. According to Chrysler, the door cup holders are for sealed water bottles, etc they expect you to use the center stack for open coffee contrainers, etc. Jeep does the same thing, My son has a patriot and his doors is where he and everyone else that rides with him puts sealed containers only, he tells them to use the center cup holders for cans, coffee, etc. I have to agree with you on many of the area's that you say need improving, it really does still have a ways to go. I actually think the current Equinox is better than this auto though IMHO. One area I really agree with you on is the reflective aluminum trim they are putting on the dash as well as chrome and how on a sunny day it reflects on the windshield and back in your face. I do not know who thought this was a good idea, but from a safety stand point it is one of the worst things that can be done and my current pet peeve with Caddilc is all the stupid brushed chrome on the dash. SRX especially.

  25. Anyone know if that headlight outline is bulbs or real LED's or what? Very striking and I like it.
