The_yellow_dart, I am shocked as your comments made me check the web site and as you can see above there seems to be no compelling reason to buy a truck with the 4.9L V8 you might as well get the 5.3 or even the 6.2L. I really wonder why GM even builds this smaller engine as the only thing I can think of is they can say our Small V8 is the most powerfull in below 5 L V8's and equal in Fuel economy to V6 powered equal trucks?????? Anyone have insight as to why this is like this? Maybe a email to GM needs to be done.

Industry News: Subcompact Sales Slide Despite High Gas Prices
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
From what I can find, the bulk of mini buyers are repeat customers, they have a very low conquest rate of new buyers. I think this trend will continue with the subcompact market. Once you meet the needs of those that can only think sardine in a noisy can work transportation, you have to expect fall off. The SubCompact market has been saturated and while there are many high quality auto's out there, I really do not see much future growth for this segment compared to Compact and mid size especially when you have new Hybrid and alternative energy powertrains coming online.- 14 replies

Industry News: Subcompact Sales Slide Despite High Gas Prices
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
I agree with the compacts getting the same as subcompact gas mileage, but even more is the fact that subcompacts really only meet the needs of a small group of people. As you have a bigger person, they are less likely to buy a subcompact. For me being 6'6" tall I will never have anything below mid size CUV at worst. More people now than before are not able to be comfortable in compact or especially subcompact. You can only get so many stuffed like sardines into a subcompact.- 14 replies

Thinking on this EPA should just take the technology and share it with GM and Ford. That way the american auto companies can use it to benefit America and jobs. For those that say what about the other investors? Well the EPA can sell the rights to use the technology to them, be it China, Japan, Korea, Euro, etc. That way those funds can go back to the independant investors and if there is anything left over it can go back to the original investors/owners.

Looking at the picture, I assume that fluid fill tank with the cap will have an extension tub and measure stick to tell if you need to top it off. If not service will be a pain for those of us that like to do it yourself. Crawl underneath to measure the tranny fluid will be a pain in the ass.

I agree with Drew, being an Executive member of nationals club is sweet. Back on topic, the 500e I still see as a failure for them. This was the wrong thing to do, if they had done a Hybrid like the Volt that would have been so much better. They could have done it cng style and really had a ride that would have gotten notice. This will fad away by the end of the year.

Nissan News: Ram Trucks CEO Heads Off To Nissan
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Nissan
What a sad day for Ram, bummer, but I have a gut feeling there were some major politics going on with the Euro Owners. -
WOW, I would rather drive a VOLT than this little POS. There is a very small group of folks that will spend stupid amounts of money on Glorified Electric Golf Carts like this one. Yet other than inner city driving, they are not real world usable. I suspect they felt they had to do this for the mpg issues, but what a waste. Would have been better to do a volt style hybrid than this.

Mercedez Benz News AMG: Yes To Hybrids, No To Diesel
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Mercedes-Benz
Was it not Audi who showed that Diesels could perform and have an awesome engine tone at the 24hrs Lay Mans race? I think they are missing one thing better, they should take advantage of the 130 octane CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and build a car. Way cleaner than petrol and Diesel and less green house gas than what is produced for a battery pack on a hybrid. Liter also. -
Bummer, hopefully that just means there is something better coming your way.

14yrs of losses, when do you just say enough of the Union Bleeding a company to death and start clean? I think with 5.2 Billion, you could Kill off Opel and go full force on a Chevy/Buick/Cadillac approach and have factories in non union areas.

Wants to disable the auto locking system - searching for a locksmith
G. David Felt replied to incheyenne's topic in Buick
Hyper, my 2008 Trailblazer SS allows me to disable or enable this feature. But as I have read and is posted by GM, all 2005 to a few 2008 models have to be reprogrammed as they must have thought this was not a useful feature and took it away, but now it is back. -
Saw a brand new Fiat 500 Gucci Edition. What the Hell?????? Why would you want a purse approved version of these ugly little cars?
-
While I have come to hate the current Fiat 500 as an ugly design for auto's, I actually like this body style, yes you can see it was a 500, but it has a certain type of bad ass bulky buchness I really like.
