  1. We'll to use a old Tag line, This is NOT your Grandfather Buick!
  2. I wonder how long before someone buys up the intellectual rights to the whole project and actually has the cash to then bring it to market? Course with the amount of money they supposedly spent on this one prototype, I would have thought they could have built 50 of them.
  3. Great review, interesting as I did not find the motor in the SRX to be under powered but I was disappointed in the lack of interior room for big people. The RX just was disappointing over all for me. The volvo seems to be an exciting ride, but I do find the interior to be the weak point as the minimalist as you call it just looks and feels cheap to me. The center stack of tiny buttons to manage everything including what to me came across as an after thought in a nav system was a disappointment. In todays global market to have such a manual Nav system and then to think everyone has tiny fingers is a waste and as people can see, the center stack has plenty of room left that they could have build bigger buttons/knobs to control the world and a touch screen Nav. Two week points, but it is made up with a very nice power train. Over all enjoyable read.
  4. Bummer as that was a freakin cool car. I suspect another Torpedo by the big auto boys not wanting someone who could actually bring something really good to the table.
  5. Happy B Day.
  6. Cathrine Zeta Jones
  7. Actress
  8. Great Video of an actual Cruze TDI on the dealer lot. I find it soooo funny that the music in the back ground is the stray cats.
  9. Chicago Auto Show introduction of the Cruze Diesel. They so should have had a better woman introducing it than this lady who is about as dead as they come for communication.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xqoTcg2tAg&feature=player_embedded Amazing Holden Cruze Diesel is a 2010, so they have had this for some time out in the global market.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Aru_mW_Fy9w Latest Cruze Commercial for their dirtiest / Cleanest Diesel on the road. Awesome.
  12. Something popped up on the radar and scared them to rethink this stance. Maybe someone showed them the truth and how this could possibly be the next Pinto Issue.
  13. No, no, no, no, no, no. No. The main issue at hand is not an issue of who has "the better interface." Once again, have you actually read anything about the Xbox One? Honestly? Any company who thinks they have the right to tell me how I can use any form of content I have purchased and legally own can go straight to hell. If I bought something, it's mine and I have the right to do whatever I want with it. If I want to go out and buy 50 copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 just so I can use the discs as drink coasters and the user manuals as toilet paper, then I can do that. I bought it, I legally own it, and it's my right to do so. If I have a used game that I've beaten once or twice and that I'm not very fond of, then -- once again, since I legally own the content -- I have the right to give it away, sell it, or trade it in for a game I do want. Argue that with me. Justify Microsoft is right here. If you do, you might as well just Sieg Heil the hell out of here. The game publishers and Microsoft peons who have implemented this catastrophic DRM system into the XBone is like every CEO of every automaker in America waking up one day, getting on the phone, and saying to each other, "You know, used cars sales are a big pain in the company's ass. We'd really rake in the dough if we could implement some sort of restrictions on people buying, selling, and trading in used cars. Let's -- oh I don't know -- restrict infotainment capabilites and make the new buyer pay the full MSRP for that car if they want to buy it. I think this is a great idea that will really help up ramp up profits!" Any company who has the nerve to tell me what I can or cannot do with something I legally own needs to be bankrupted and sold to foriegn interests. They do not deserve the right to operate in a captalist economy. WOW, you have a Horse with Blinders approach, the Apple versus Microsoft is an analogy. I know this is bigger than an interface comparison. The ownership issue I understand, whether Sony or Microsoft's approach is correct will be shown in the market place. The on going study groups will also help Microsoft solidify their approach and they could and probably will change things between now and Xmas launch. Nothing is written in stone and Microsoft is watching what people say and write about the Xbox One and Sony's PS4.
  14. We'll ain't that special! The first car that I will never buy with all this I control you, tell you what you can and cannot do electronic junk. Clearly newer auto's will not be on my agenda as I age. Good thing I have auto's I love to drive right now.
  15. Join the One!!! Be One with the One!!! We will assimilate you into the One Collective!!!
  16. Very good for them as the Opel models have been well received. I hope they bring the CNG Opel Adam here to the US. I would love to buy this. FYI, Saw my first Cruze TDI 2.0 commercial where it comes into the test center, white model all covered in mud / dirt leaving dirty tire tracks as it drives up to the white coat engineers who then take a clean white cloth and they hold it up to the exhaust and step on it and the cloth comes away clean. They state 46MPG, cleanest Diesel on the road, Quietest Diesel on the road. Very impressed. I hope they grow this fast as it was impressive and I think Americans will love it also.
  17. Having parents that are Baby Boomers and listening to many baby boomers they socialize with, the recent Great Depression we are just starting to pull out of has had a very large hit to this class retirement funds. Most of these 60-80 year olds have decided to hold onto their Honda, Toyota, Nissans, VW etc. than spend money on a new car. I hear it all the time how the last 5-6 years has destroyed 50-60% of their retirement portfolio and at this point they have decided to stay with their cars or newest car as they down size to 1 auto. The few that have told me they will be buying a new auto have made it clear, they plan to go from 2 or 3 auto's to one and conserve capital and do trips and other things. GM is doing the right thing by focusing on the rising wealth of the high tech market, the growing jobs market. This is not the time to spend money on trying to convince a baby boomer who left and has gone through 2 or 3 auto's by the competition to come back when they are at the end of their auto buying cycle. This is the right thing to do, focus on the 20-40 year old crowd.
  18. I would love this in a StingRay Hybrid. 600hp that would rock.
  19. Is that game still being played???? I thought it died years ago. Course I moved onto first person shooters and never did return to the peace. Kill them, Kill them all!
  20. hahahahahha You will find out how wrong you or I will be in a few months.
  21. You would not believe how many 65-80 year olds the are around here who still drive. The new Buick is not what they are used to, they don't like all the technology. They like the old Buick, and still have a lot of money to spend-now mostly going to Toyota and their Avalon. As much as we on this board like the newer stuff from all of GM, there is a demographic that is being forgotten. There should still be a traditional column shift, bench seat, V8 Buick for this crowd. Kind of like how the Cadillac XTS is keeping the Deville buyers somewhat satisfied, where is a new Lesabre? I can't even count how many times my customers have had to put money into keeping a car with well over 100K miles because they can't find what they want anymore. I understand what you are saying about these people and their money, sadly they are also the fastest to go into various memory issue medical problem needs. So far reports are showing the late 50's to early 70's crowd getting dementia and Altimers . Yet those older and younger are not which tends to show you cannot stop learning or your mind dies. You would not believe how many 65-80 year olds the are around here who still drive. The new Buick is not what they are used to, they don't like all the technology. I can't even count how many times my customers have had to put money into keeping a car with well over 100K miles because they can't find what they want anymore. And those 65 and over will buy only one more car and many will not be driving in 10 years if they are even lucky to be alive. Buick needs to concentrate on the younger professionals that are not able to afford the more expensive Cadillac's but still want a comfortable and classy car. high end VW, low end Audi Lexus and Acura have catered to this crowd for years and will continue as they will grow older with them unless they have the means to move up. The Lacrosse and Impala take care of the Lesabre crowd as that is what my Parents were. As for the age and driving thing I understand it well as my parents and many of their friends were Lesabre buyers. Most it was their last new car and most no longer drive and many have passed like my 80 year old father. The bench seat is gone and GM was the last still trying to make it work. While there was some demand it was so few it did not warrant keeping it. Too many keep reaching back trying to think things are like the 50's and 60's but the entire auto market has shifted and changed. People who grew up in small Honda's and Toyotas have different wants and expectations. The customers GM had in the 50's are nearly lost anymore and most do not buy cars any longer. GM needs to appeal to the younger buyers and middle age buyers if they expect to get and retain customers for more than one last send off before they see God. This is working at Cadillac as they have a more respected line up than they have had in years. They may have alienated my Mother In law but that is ok as there are so few of her floaty boat ride lovers left. The few people Buick will lose with the moves they need will come back two fold with repeat customers. Just keep on doing what they were doing is a path to an end. China gave Buick a second chance and they better damn well not screw it up again. Totally agree with you on this.
  22. No time limit that I am aware of with Synthetic oil.
