  1. TOTALLY COOL! Yet I do find it amusing that in the background at 43 seconds you have an old GMC truck. Nice way to tie in the whole family!
  2. Hopefully they are spending money on the interior also...the current, dated Colorado looks like they budgeted about $10 for the interior--cheap and nasty inside. I agree that the current interior is a bit cheap, but then my 72yr old father has one and loves it and thinks it is perfect so it could also be a bit of perspective. The younger groups just have higher expectations and yet with that said, if they are not willing to accept less features / base level auto's will never be in the reach of someone just starting out. Not every auto needs to have a cadillac interior.
  3. Nice review, how is the seat support for what should be a sport or semi performance model? My two issues with this car is the big black mouth on the front that mimics Mazda's poor style of a grill and the tight engine bay. For a GT car, this car should be a performance fun package but also leave a bit of room for 3rd party tuning and based on the picture supplied it looks real tight so that 3rd party companies might not bother building a turbo kit or other performance mods for the car. Over all I would say Hyundia will have a success on their hands again with this new model. I just wish they would get an engine that had some Torque as all the horsepower in the world is useless unless you have the motivation to move the 3000lb mass and that comes from Torque.

  5. Hopefully a 3rd party company will realize the benefits of this and build a kit truck of the Avalanche.
  6. Yes they are taking a long time but next year when it does come out and has a torquey little diesel under the hood that makes it move, all will be forgotten by those that love this high mileage oil burner.
  7. What else would anyone expect of SRT division but to say that it will be staying around. Personally, I could see Dodge being the performance division with Chrysler being the family division much like how people wanted Pontiac to be a true performance sub group under GMC/Buick. Yet with SRT filling that roll, it does make one wonder what the real future is for the two brands. There is room I believe for DODGE to be a SubGroup of Chrysler. Families go to Chrysler for cars and minivans. If they want excitement, go to a dodge. Pure performance SRT. If you need a 4x4 SUV, then Jeep and RAM for trucks. I think this makes sense.
  8. I can see a quality car only focused company for Dodge. Leave the Mini Van in Chrysler and the SUV's CUV's to Jeep.

My brother inlaw called last night to ask me where he could get a new AC pump for his sprinter since the AC died yesterday during the work day and with temps in the 80's which is hot for Seattle he was dying by the end of the day. Pointed him to a place I use to get all my AC and Radiators since they wholesale to the public. Dodge wanted $1590.00 to replace the AC pump and recharge the system. He called and the new DENSO Pump was $195.00 plus about two hrs of his time to change over the pull and recharge the system. Cool as cold!

  11. Black-knight, that 2000 is a sweet ride, nice job it was clearly meant to be for you to have a drama free 4x4 back in your life. Enjoy it as I really like the style and think Jeep needs to remember not every Jeep needs to be a Jelly Bean.
  12. Love them both and can actually see Chevy selling both here. I really would love to have the Ute here as I deeply believe there is an underserved market for a truck like that.
  13. I think this would appeal to anyone even in their 20's or teens who love to drive and love performance. This should attract attention from those that are into auto's, play racing games, go to car shows, etc.
  14. I totally agree with the ditching the DOHC and staying with OHV. I think they can still make great strides on a reliable engine with this technology.
  15. I will tell you this, you will like some of the changes GM has made to their ordering program.

  17. My brother in-law who has sprinters for his service repair business wishes GM would update their vans as he really hates the poor quality of the sprinter and the Euro roots. Hate to say it, but while many will buy the Euro re-badges to get the job done, many would prefer that they be American Engineered and built.
  18. If they have the sales, then why not continue production till the new one arrives? Check out the competition of mid size trucks and then finalize your new product features and roll out the new Ridgeline.
  19. Interesting that they are expanding their R lineup to cover everyone now. I just hope they do not loose the performance by throwing the R badge on everything. Chevy lost their way when they started to throw the SS badge on every model line and yet so many of the so called Top of the Line SS models were not really SS qualified IMHHO.
  20. 2014 Crew-cab CNG GM Truck, The GM Police Caprice, a wide variety of fleet trimmed auto's at the 2014 GM Fleet road show I attended last Thursday. Got some cool stuff to talk about once I finish my write up and review from the power on top. This includes some cool announcements from GM and a awesome Motorized seat that is available.
  21. As we move to high strength steel, I can see the convertible only being in the luxury segment and select pony car segment as a full sky roof that opens will be far more practical for people. So far I see more people buying auto's with a sky roof that opens over a convertible desire. Just too limited a use if you live anywhere other than California or Florida it seems.
  22. True black knight it could just be a bad surface ulcer, but my year and half in NJ showed me just how nice a car could look on the outside but be a rusty bucket of bolts on the underside. I agree the car is still worth checking out, but I would keep my hopes tempered till I had a chance to truly review the underside.
  23. Loki, are you saying that like what GM is doing with their new Ecotec Engines, build a crate motor for replacements that includes VVT, cylinder deactivation from 6 to 3 during cruzing and direct injection? All 3 of these items are on the new Ecotec3 v8 engine lineup.
  24. From what can be seen it has a single red seat and a metal dash and I agree with PurdueGuy, while they might have a record with this auto, it does not mean it is worth that price. Personally I would not even pay $500 let alone $50 for the ugly R&D auto. That is one best left in the history books as a learning exercise.
