  1. Drew, I always thought the same as they look like Chrysler cut the second set of doors off and welded it. But that is how they came. Saw an old Lime Green Ford Ranchero. Looked to be stock over all with the faded paint and the old guy driving it with his stogie.
  2. Howdy and welcome, Great Country especially for the PORTS!
  3. Welcome BigMac,you will find plenty of car nuts here. Look forward to exchanging comments on many different topics. Like you I also learned all my auto repair and love from my dad. Your mustang looks like a very metallic version of Candy Apple Green. My father had it on his 57 Mercury. Sweet color from what I can see.
  4. Answer: Urea mix's with the exhaust causing it to further burn up the particles being pushed out so you end up with a cleaner exhaust and no black particle mess into the world.
  5. We'll this is a Bomb for me. While the aggressive body style is nice, not a fan of the Bass large mouth look in the front and the narrow slit side windows. You might as well just encase the passenger in a tube of metal and use camera's to see everywhere so they are safe. This car is a lost cause if that is their new design language. Looks like the ass got cut off Bobbitt style.
  6. True, the cheapest is not always the best but neither is the most expensive, we need to find better ways to share the power that is cheaply produced in other parts with those areas that do not have an abundance of power. Reason I think we need some sort of large power storage center so that places that do have sun or wind and can produce crazy amounts can actually feed the system rather than turn them off due to no room to take the power produced.
  7. Yet most kids and their parents have grown up with the disposable attitude and are clueless about what to look for in a used auto. They also seem to not be aware that you can request a compression test on the engine to make sure it is solid just like having an inspection on the whole auto. As has been stated, if you are willing to do a little research and learn what to look for, you can find a reliable beater, but then many feel entitled to the best and would not accept the beater even when told to look at it as a tool for college and then move onto your first new car once you have a steady job and income.
  8. 1975 Chrsyler New Yorker Bourgham Edition. Man are these a land yacht or what!
  9. PICTURES PLEASE!!!!
  10. Very true Hyperv6 as the filters coal power plants here must use actually are pretty darn clean. China needs to get with the rest of the world and start cleaning up their act.
  11. I personally wish GMC would get back to their grill from 94. My 94 GMC Suburban has that Chrome ring around the big outside, but then pitch black slates and a bright Ruby Red GMC floating in the center. That just rocks IMHO. This is close but it still needs to be jet black or Black Chrome with the red GMC.
  12. My one BIG draw back to CUV, Lack of a real SUV sitting position and aftermarket lift kits. Compared to BOF Trailblazer and the ability to do aftermarket lift-kits for off roading. I would love it if I could get a 6" lift kit for the AWD Terrain so I had the high visibility as I love the Terrain body style. Just need it to sit up about 6 more inches.
  13. It could if they kept the new engine lighter or was able to drop weight in the over all auto, but then you have all the new emission parts including heavy liquid pee to help destroy the partical mass output.
  14. Japan does need to drop their protectionist laws.
  15. I think any Unibody could be given what people have come to expect out of BOF if it is done right. GC has proven that, but sadly we have lost what was gained with the hummer for offroad capabilities and the GC seems to be the only game in town with that capability now. I would like to have a BOF capable or Uni capable SUV/CUV if they would just pay attention to those extra details.
  16. Sounds Like they have a new global focus on their diesel platform. I wonder how much more this new engine and emission system will cost.
  17. Riviera74 I do agree with you that it would be nice to have the rest of the world have a more open free market system, but they do fear the US ability to bring things in fast and cheaper than local companies could grow. I think the chicken tax needs to stay on more items forcing them to be built here or pay up.
  18. Hopefully, Chevy and better yet GM can have the right people in place to say "Game On!" for both cars and trucks. Game changers need to be there for every product line to show segment leading design, technology all at the right affordable price.
  19. Adult Toys.
  20. CNG is being used to replace dirty coal as fast as possible. But even then we still need more power. Interesting is Washington State has huge wind farms and 25% of the time they are offline due to no room to store the power as we have an abundance of Hydro Power. We need storage farms that can hold the power generated by wind and solar and then transfer it to areas that need more power.
  21. If the GOV did not require all the stupid Nanny devices and car companies had a reasonable 12-15K mini pickup truck, you would find plenty of buyers. The luxury of owning a car is a privilege one earns not a right and yet many think like cell phones and internet that they have a right to own one. Pricing has gotten crazy out of control.
  22. I would rather they focus on streamlining the tax code, cut the pork out of the budget, reduce the over abundance of military bases around the world and term limits. Two terms for Senators and 6 for house members. This way both parts get 12yrs to make a difference before having to go back to the private sector and their benefits package and retirement perks. All goes away and is folded into Social Security and Medicaid. This way they get the same as the rest of the country. Then they will have inspiration to fix things for good.
