I not only have to agree with Drew on his points he made but want to say that Dwight you need to take a Trailblazer SS AWD for a drive. I have had mine, 2008 now for 2 years, second owner and Love it. The first four years were driven by the Chevy Dealers sales managers wife and she clearly did not drive it. I can tell you that while it is far more sticky when driven aggressive in rain or snow than a RWD or FWD car, I can also hang the tail end out if I want under aggressive driving on dry pavement. This little SUV is a blast to drive and allows you to push it far better than the other two. I totally disagree with you on the lack of entertainment. I find I can have MORE entertainment in an AWD pushing the limits of what a RWD or FWD car would not handle.

Lexus News: Rumorpile: Spilling The Beans On The Lexus RC and RC-F
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
Yea Another over rated Lexus with the stupid DOHC engines producing high revving horsepower with less than stellar Torque. Just do not see what others think is so great about these auto's. -
Yes, GM sold their shares to Toyota so Volume should not be an issue as long as they stay profitable.

So this week I have seen some really crazy driving from both local license plated auto's and out of state auto's along with auto's that have had front headlights out and it is way before predawn and they are using fog lights only to partial tail lights, brake lights where only one works and the middle and one of the outside is burnt out. With the stated above, it got me to thinking about our current drivers licenses and safety standards for auto's. I understand each state wants to keep control, yet the whole idea of the Federal gov was to have a set of standards that keeps a level playing field for this country. What would it take and or what would you feel should be the standards for a national drivers license and safety inspection program? With that in mind, could a national drivers license also act as a national passport then to leave and enter the country simplifying the ability to travel for US citizens? Sound off on what type of National Standardized driving program we should have? Sound off on what all should the license allow you to drive? Auto, motorcycle, Semi? Sound off on what type of safety inspection should be done on auto's and how often? Pretty much think of this as a clean sheet approach to redoing our system for drivers licenses, safety etc. Should one who does not speak english be allowed to get a drivers license? Why or why not?

Depending on the desire/need. If your mom wants to keep the truck and likes driving it and the sitting position and the rest of the truck is solid, then researching a local transmission shop to rebuild it and then you reinstall it yourself is worth the money. A good shop will build it stronger than an OEM or a rebuilt OEM tranny. I know as the local transmission shop I have used does outstanding work and their transmissions have always lasted well for me. I am hesitant to have you get a low mileage tranny from the junk yard as I have had nothing but horror stories with them. Rather invest in rebuilding the one I have over that option. Yet if your mother does not care about the truck and would rather go to a high mileage commuter car, then this is a cheap option to do and get it listed and sold.

I think Subaru can add a few more AWD models to fill in holes in their portfolio, but I agree with the broad consensus, the over all mega car companies are consuming and merging into mega companies to push up profits and hopefully push prices down. Subaru has a niche market that is profitable and they should stay focused on it. Generic will be the death bell for them.

gotta love the honda quality. The door trip does not line up with the dash trim. wonder if this is a production unit or mule.

Hopefully it will be a profitable winner for GM once they get theirs going Chevy Style.

Thanks Caddy Cruise, that makes sense now with the story, backing up, coming in and boom someone looses. Sucks getting a call like that glad he is OK and still driving.

Very cool, thanks Roger. Saw a clean Flare Side Ford pickup today from the 90's. Was pretty cool.

I think they need to stay a niche player with quality products at a higher price point.

Cubby that is a mini minivan, not a station wagon.

While this is cool news, my gut tells me we will see a glut of small 2 door sports cars in the near future 12-18 months. Seems to be a cycle of multiple auto companies identifying the same niche for small 2 seater sports cars and then an over building happens since there is limited appeal for them and then they all die off and we go through the vacuum again. Will be interesting non the less.

How does a driver not see a car in the drive way? Never understood people like that.

UGLY! Not sure why but it looks like more of a mini mini van than a station wagon. Dash is hideous chopped up mess like the serial killer attacked it and the weird body style just makes me shake my head. Not a good car at all. I doubt it will be around long.

Saw a brand new Black Diamon Edition Avalanche today. Did not realize they came in Blue. For some reason I thought they were truly just a black paint version. Saw this old car in the neighborhood driving by, not sure what it is but clearly a project car.
