So if all Taxi's need to be AD capable, then we still have plenty of options with Mini Vans added to the Transit and NV.

I have found staying with the same insurance company for a long time actually does not help you in getting cheaper rates, I have found changing companies and having them compete against each other has allowed me to keep strong solid insurance with very low rates. Right now I am in year 4 at Costco and their Ameriprise Insurance beats everyone else when I go and get quotes. For 4 SUV's, I am paying just about 600 a month, I suggest you shop around as I think you can get cheaper insurance especially once you taking other factors into account like also covering your home insurance or if renting, renters insurance.

Biggest one day stock drop due to auto Fire in Seattle Suburb

Good Point, but then what I have read on the charging is that it is not good to do short charges. Maybe an article on battery life and how charging cycles affect their life and how the Auto Companies are suggesting best charge practices. -

Yet here in the Pacific Northwest where we have plenty of Tree Huggers, you find most Charging stations covered in Trash bags so the public can park. BIG Waste of money on installing charging stations when you can charge at home. http://www.cheersandgears.com/_/alt-fuels-news/fumes-tax-payer-supplied-charging-stations-ar-r1171 Remember I did this story on them and posted the pictures which still today have the garbage bags on them. In this case, the overbuilding of charging stations is taking valuable space away from the average auto, especially at the Park N Rides. Might be different in other areas of the country, but here Electric is not taking off even with our cheapest electric rates in the country. -
If they can use the Prius for a Taxi, then the VOLT should also be a taxi. Best use of the VOLT power-train would be for GM to build their re-badged Nissan Mini Van with the VOLT power-train and use it for Taxi Service.

Industry News: Aston Martin Cans The Cygnet

Maybe that is why they only sold 150, to the actual Collectors and no real buyers / users of a luxury subcompact.- 7 replies

This problem has shown on all cars today and for the most part I have settled to the fact that SUV's are the only thing for me that fit big men.

This was no surprise for that ugly turd of a car. It was an Insult to the Aston Martin Family. Good thing it was nothing more than a dressed up Toyota as the few buyers will at least now get service and parts from your local Toyota dealer for these ugly ducklings.- 7 replies

If they know bestest, then they should put their Lazy ARse in front of a firing squad and take it like a man since they are protecting the 1% of special interest rather than the American public for who they are supposed to be working for. Time to clean house and kick em all out.

That's cause the loose parts tightened up due to the cold. After all everything shrinks and tightens when it is cold out. LOL -

I really do not see level 3 fast chargers going into to many shopping malls and stand alone places like a panera at all. Level 1 & 2 is just too slow while they have gone up all over, you see most of them empty and or having a bag over the machine now and allowing any vehicle to park in the spot. Level 3 charge stations will go up but need plenty of room for the cars to sit for their 30min charge time. Level 1 & 2 mostly at homes. Wasted to have them installed at Park and Rides. They never get used. Having a Fast Fill Level 3 charging station will take up tons of room as I saw the Tesla Charge station at Bellevue Mall. Now I know they put it in considering that they have their sales location diagonally across the street and with Bellevue having a average house hold income of $115,696 per the Bellevue City records you have the right income group to buy the cars. Yet with this the charge station takes up way more room than I thought it would with all the Level 3 chargers and space given the cars. Will take a picture next time I am in Bellevue. -
Very cool, wonder if they will do the brake shoe corvette?

I think Insurance rates do play a major part in this as more and more people either drive without insurance or they just give up on owning an auto.

I think you guys are wrong as just with petrol auto's people wanted big tanks to make sure they did not get stuck some place without fuel, I can see people wanting a 300-400 mile battery pack to make sure they do not run out of a charge and then once the pack is down to 1/3 rd power they recharge it. Especially in Cold climates with heavy snow fall, if they get stuck on the road, having extra charge to keep you warm will come in handly. -
Cadillac News: 2015 Cadillac Escalade Live Reveal
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Escalades and GL's are always towing here in the Pacific Northwest. -
Interesting story, I think the fall in ownership is due to the crazy prices for Gas, Cost of a car, Insurance and people willing to live like a sardine in congested cities. Yet for those that live active life's you will find a car is a necessity. I would be wanting to know where this trend really is, east coast, west coast, mid west? I think some areas are for sure seeing a decline in ownership and yet other areas are not. I think that would play a significant roll in the accuracy of this study.

The next few years will be interesting times to see how GM, Ford and others respond to Tesla. Makes one wonder if GM would bring back their Skateboard concept platform. Think of this for the Suburban where you can slid in a massive battery pack and get 3-400 miles on a charge. -
Fiat News: Fiat Dealers Are Feeling The Strain
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Never seen a mini stand alone dealership, they all seem to be in the same place as a BMW dealership. Same thing I noticed about the SmartCar dealerships are all next door to an MB dealership or at least they are here in the Pacific NW. -

Cadillac News: 2015 Cadillac Escalade Live Reveal
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
MB does make a full size SUV, the GL is full size and the #1 selling full size luxury SUV. I see GMC Terrain in the front and sides with all those straight lines. Gl might have out sold the Escalade by just 2500 units, but it cannot pull a trailer like the Escalade and does not have as much interior space. Plus the maintenance cost on the MB compared to the Cadillac SUV is huge and I would go with Escalade which has a better reliability record. MB might have cutting edge tech, but the cost of keeping it functional is way higher. Course in this group, most have the disposable cash to pay when things break. M-B buyers also often lease so they are in and out in 3 years or so..they don't hold on to them until they get old and become money pits... True most people dump their MB before it becomes a money pit. I have had friends who bought a 2 or 3 year old MB and cursed it, same with BMW that they become money pits to keep the tech working. In comparison, Since I have owned my Escalade ESV, I have spent a whopping $2195.00 on doing all the maintenance/repairs since I bought it new and with the miles I have put on. I do not see them as a money pit compared to MB & BMW. -

This is good for competition and should drive prices down. Otherwise with a lock on the market, there is no real drive for Nissan to have to compete on price and features.
