  1. As nice as most paddle shifting auto’s are, nothing beats the ability to modulate the clutch to help get the car doing what you want. Plus the clutch is another source of feedback of what the car is doin
  2. good to hear it won't affect CAMI
  3. Seeing as the reporter is from MSNBC, I wouldn’t be surprised if GM was just putting on a show for the guy. If he saw actual models of upcoming cares, I sure hope they aren’t retro. I don’t want cars of a “bygone era”, and want cars that are good looking and original to this era. I want designs that will evoke the emotion 30 years from now that cars from 30 years ago evoke now. I don’t want the future saying, wow, what unoriginal designs (*cough* Challenger); they look just like cars from 60 years
  4. With all the money CAMI has already invested in tooling, I doubt they would cancel it at this late stage and last I heard it was still a go
  5. I saw my 2nd Solstice this weekend (1st one up close) as it was driving towards me. Until it got close, I thought it was a European import roadster. Great Job GM!
  6. which swift, our swift or the Euro swift? but in Europe, they have a toally different model http://automobile.nouvelobs.com/mag/040920/suzuki_swift/images/270.jpg
  7. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060303/bs_nm/autos_dana_dc Buy some shares now before it sky rockets when Magna buyout rumours start up.
  8. I thought so too, but I talked with a friend at Brampton and he said Magnum sales, while strong, have slipped a lot from what they were at the start, and the Charger is starting that slip too. So they should be ok capacity wise. They should be more worried about tooling though. My friend was surprised when I told him I heard their selection as the production plant. Some their equipment can’t be used for the Challenger because of their size (ie the longer doors), and nothing has been ordered yet because the guys there haven’t even got confirmation of production.
  9. check please *drool*
  10. Peter Stormare is hilarious Russian components, American components...EVERYTHING MADE IN TAIWAN!

  13. chatted with my buddy who work at Brampton last night, and this is soo much of an exclusive that the guys there don't know they got it yet

  16. and Pursuit in Canada. I hope this is only a 2-3 year stop gap till thye can put a coupe/sedan on the Kappa chasis.
  17. Now I’m not the insider like some of the guys on this site are, but I have worked for a variety of company’s that supply parts for GM so I do have some experience with GM documents. What set off the first bell in my head is that it was a powerpoint document. While it’s rare, I have seen one or two powerpoint doc’s from GM, but never for something as important as this. Usually they would send out a PDF file for something like this, and/or excel file for less important doc’s. The next thing was the lack of GM letterhead, which really sent bells off. Lastly, the lack of a name & position at the end sealed the deal for me. All that being said, 99% looked at it with a biased view, we all know it was fake before we saw it. None of can say for sure we would have known it to be fake if we had been in Josh’s position. Personally, had it come from a trusted source who said it was real, some of the bells might not have gone off, or at least been a lot quieter. And knowing the craving for information on this forum, I might have tuned out any doubts. Not too mention, its not like this is the first time false info has been posted here. None of us are perfect afterall. Well, maybe Chuck Norris, but thats another thread.
  18. As somebody who’s dealt wit DRL’s their entire driving life, I can tell you they’ve saved me a lot more than they’ve bothered me.
  19. since I'm bored at work and feeling nitpicky, I'd just like to point out that they trademarked, not patented the name
  20. thats reminds me. time to update my resume
  21. the magnum OWNS its market, so I can't going anywhere anytime soon. There isn't another big power wagon out there it competes against. just like the PT cruiser, the demand for the Challenger will be big the first 2 years, but after everybody who "just has to have one" gets one, the sales will drop off I don't knoow waht Brampton's actual capacity is at, but from the hours my friend works, and what he's told me, I can't see it be a lot.

  24. LOL..the guys at Brampton must love this. They barely get any time off as is
