  1. The Astra will be an improvement in terms of product, but I don't know if the Saturn dealers will be pleased about it. The Astra will sell how many units in America? 20,000? 30,000? The Ion is a vehicle that sells that much in a few months. Saturn dealers will have to deal with a loss of revenue with this car.
  2. Well maybe to show how progressive and liberal you are, you can congratulate the man in the Arab street about the world's tallest being built in his lands. And then he starts to cheer Osama, you can join in on that too.
  3. It's selling like gangbusters according to the Edmund's forums. One dealer sold one in 15 minutes. Another charged a $8,000 premium over MSRP and sold it without problems. Delayed or not, it seems like GM has delivered with a very hot product.
  4. I understand that the people paying for the construction of the tower are not the same as the 18 guys who rode on the Sept 11 flights. But can it be denied that Sept 11 was highly popular throughout the Arab World, with people cheering in the streets? Can it be denied that Osama remains one of the most beloved figures in Arab history for what he did to America, "the Great Satan"? Also, you need to look at the "big picture", to get a historical perspective. And in my mind it looks a whole lot like a bunch of Arabs came over here and blew up our greatest skyscrapers, and then a few years later the Arabs built the world's tallest in their own lands. And how do we respond to that? That is the question.
  5. What annoys me is that they are building the world's tallest building in Dubai. This is not just a proposal, it's actually under construction right now: http://www.burjdubai.com These POS blow up our tallest building, then build the world's tallest in their own lands. And it's being built with money earned from oil exports to America, the very people that they hate so much. I hope it meets with some unfortunate calamity, so they can know how it feels. Yeah, where's your Allah now?
  6. Why the hell would you want to go to that thing? It looks like the illegal immigrant supporters got caught with their pants down today. If these people are here to do all those necessary jobs that American allegedly can't or won't do, then what use are all these illegals if they go on strike at the drop of a hat? And if our economy functioned just fine today (which it did at least here in Ohio, I don't think anyone noticed the Mexican illegals striking), then it seems like they are not so critical to our economy to begin with.
  7. Just curious. Post links to other message boards if you've heard of someone bragging about theirs.
  8. Yeah, but he likes black women anyway. Or at least his character did. So you've got no shot with him.
  9. Yeah right, most of the bitchy overweight women in this country would be lucky to get a man like Gottfried.
  10. But you don't pick up girls period.
  11. Yes those Canadian chicks don't like to leave anything to the imagination.
  12. What do you expect? Many of those foreign cars "built in America", are actually just snapped together here like lego pieces from high value parts like engines and transmissions that are assembled overseas.
  13. Yeah but who is the board? Those are people appointed by Rick Wagoner over the years.
  14. http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...9&enterthread=y Does anyone ever get held accountable at GM? Either GM's webmaster purposefully sabotaged a very expensive product placement campaign, or it was just plain old stupidity putting up anti-GM ads on the website. But the import lovers and assorted GM haters once again get the last laugh.
  15. I like the looks of the Ford Fusion a lot. It's the only one of the bunch that's distinctive. The Toyota Camry has features that put it a cut above the rest, but then again it does cost a lot more.
  16. Home of the wet t-shirt party.
  17. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...395/1148/AUTO01 Let me just say that this is the kind of thing that makes GM not just any other Fortune 500 company, or any other car company, but the stuff of legend.
  18. The problems with the STS, IMO, were on the rear end, and the bland layout of the interior. From the description it sounds like the new rear is going to be schweet, hopefully an interior change will also follow.
  19. You know how they say the average guy exagerrates his height by 1-2 inches? The average girl does it too. This chick was 5'8", 5'9" tops. I didn't have to look up at her like while kissing her goodnight. Woot. Woot. Height lying, FTW! Nice girl too, hopefully there will be a second date tonight.
  20. I prefer the exterior of the G6.

    Good-bye

I had a feeling that you might be a financial analyst, because you stated that you weren't "an insider" but you obviously followed the industry with very keen interest.
  22. I'm on one of the online dating sites, and I've actually met some nice girls from it. No relationships, but it's interesting. A few days ago, this girl bought me an online flower (which you have to pay for), and sent me a number of emails. She approached me, so naturally her interest level is quite high. I've talked to this girl a couple of times on the phone and she seems to like me. We're meeting tomorrow for dinner. Anyway, here's the problem. Just out of curiousity I asked her her height, and she said 5'10" I'm lucky to be 5'8" on a good day if I stand real straight. I told her I was 5'9" in shoes, and she said that she doesn't care. But I'm pretty depressed, because I really liked this girl, and I just don't know how it's gonna go tomorrow. Uhhh... Why couldn't she have been in the 5'1"-5'-7" range like 90% of the women out there.
  23. $$$ for the workers, and $$$ for Delphi, but a weak deal from GM's standpoint. Rick Wagoner should be grabbed by the balls and thrown off the top of the GM building. I think he just put the final nails in GM's coffin. Where's all this money going to come from? And no clear plan on how to enhance profitability.
  24. Instead of pissing $20 billion away in Volvo, Aston Martin, and Jaguar, Ford could have spent a fraction of that in Lincoln, redeemed a great brand, and created some jobs in America.
  25. Umm... Yeah, and the future was bright back in 2002 as well, with GM's sales jump after Sept 11, the Cadillac CTS coming out, the new SUVs, the Pontiac Vibe holding promise, etc. And back in those days GM was actually making money, and talking of growing their market share to 30%. Whatever happened to that? Or should we just believe Bob Lutz that GM cars back then were crap, but everyone should go out and buy one of the new GMs because they're better, even though that was exactly the line he was spinning at that time.
