Thats what I was thinking. I think teachers are underpaid, and UAW is overpaid. But I guess since teachers dont get dirty and dont do physical labor they should be paid less right?

Its the next step for the IC engine. I believe it is supposed to make more power with less emissions. The problems they are having are with the timing of combustion, which they will need a solution for to ever get this technology anywhere. -
Is that after rebates?

The Lacrosse is just selling to the Buick faithful, the 65+ crowd. I've seen about 5 of them total. I see about 5 300s an hour. And I've yet to see a 300 with someone over 50 driving it. I hear from people about how much they like the new 300, but if you bring up the Lacrosse, you will get a blank stare. Even if the 300 doesnt sell as good, you still hear about it alot more, its getting Chrysler a ton of good press, and its spreading by word of mouth. The 300 is basically advertising for the whole Chrysler brand. The Lacrosse is just another Buick that nobody outside Buick faithful will ever know about, whether its advertised or not. Its forgettable.

Its never going to happen, and if it does, GM is stupid. The Solstice is already a deal coming in under $20,000.

I like the Compass, but then again I dont really care about offroading, or Jeeps. The Patriot look generic, like most other jeeps for the past 20 years.

As long as its not an SE, especially with the ugly front.

Pontiac needs the Pursuit because Pontiacs image hasnt been diluted enough. Pontiac should turn into the economy car brand, because that will make me want one so bad. That, and because a 4cyl kappa coupe and sedan would only get like 10 miles per gallon, seeing as kappa is so huge and weighs almost 3000lbs. (sarcasm)

Why would anyone buy that here when the CTS is about the same price? I just want the CTS smaller for it to handle better, but I doubt the BLS will handle better than the CTS, even though it is smaller.

FWD keeper 97-03 Grand Prix GTP and the only other FWD keeper I agree with is the Astra VXR.

I think the Z06 is .31 and the base Vette is .29, which I think is mostly due to the downforce on the Z06, and the extra hood scoops and side scoops probably hurt it as well.
-
But doesnt the M5 have an 8000rpm redline? Does the Z06 hit the redline or is it drag limited?

I would keep both and kill Buick. Saturn has no image and can still be shaped into the American Opel, which I dont think would work for Olds. And just because Saturn has no image now, doesnt mean it never will. All car companies started somewhere. Just think, what if GM would have killed Chevy back when it was a new company because Olds had more heritage. That doesnt mean I like Saturn more than Olds, I just think Saturn should be given a chance to grow. Do you expect your parents to like you more than your little brother just because your older?

Thats what I was thinking. I like the Tempest name the most, but wouldnt waste it on that car.

how much competition was there 30 years? GM controlled the market, and the prices. Now there is huge pricing pressure from everywhere. And GM is still paying for many of those retired workers from 30 years ago still today.
-
So I guess it would be smarter to stand your ground and fight the company that pays you, even though they are losing money and marketshare. No unions might not be the only reason for GM losing money and marketshare, but the fact is, GM is losing money and marketshare. They do have to pay additional costs that foreign competitors dont have. And typically, the companies with the cost advantage win, and the others fold. I would like to see GM stay in business. Its really only a choice between see GM go under and pay no workers, or have GM cut costs where they need to be cut to remain competitive, even if that means less pay and benefits. Lower paying job or no job?
-
Why do you care so much? I think it would be good if Saturn actually turns a profit, since then GM would have more money to develop new cars or platforms, and some of those new cars might just be for Buick or Pontiac. If you hate Saturn so much, maybe you should just hate all of GM, they are all run by the same people.

I seriously hope someone is not going to go broke over a $15 increase in weekly gas costs, which is about what it would cost to go from $2 a gallon to $3.
-
I saw my first one on the road and I still thought it was ugly. But to be fair, I think the PT cruiser is ugly too.
-
And the unions need to be really careful. With GM becoming more global and having announced cars off the same platforms will be able to be built all over the world, a strike would only push GM to start building that car in the other country until the workers decide they cant strike anymore. Very smart move for GM.

So now 50 grand on high school education isnt enough? They cant manage all their debt with that amout? But we are the ones not thinking? Maybe they werent thinking by not going to get a higher education, and with that, a higher paying job. Job pay isnt determined by how many bills one can rack up, but by skill level required to do the job, and also supply and demand. I'm going to go ask my boss for a raise because I want a new Corvette. Lets see what he thinks of that. And if they are on strike, and people are going in there to work while they are on strike, obviously the demand is there. We are a capitalist economy, and unions go against that. Their pay should be determined by market forces, like all other jobs. If there is less demand(people who want the job) than supply(positions needed to be filled in the company) then pay would go up, and if there is more demand than supply, pay would go down. Right now there is too much demand for the union jobs because they pay so much, but theres not enough jobs available, as evidenced by the layoffs and plant closures. It really just simple economics, and the union thinking goes completely against that.

I cant see the new Saturns coming as anything but Saturn, but thats because Saturn doesnt have an image to live up to other than customer service, which can be a good thing. I would kill Saab because they would take the most work to increase their sales. Saturn is easy, they just need good cars.

The last time I was in LA all I saw was BMW, Mercedes, and Mustangs. They seriously made up 80% of all the cars I saw. I guess it depends on what part of LA your in though.
-
But thats not where The population is either. It doesnt snow in the bay area, LA, or San Diego. And in AZ a good 3/4ths or more of the population is probably in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. Same goes for Texas. The high population areas dont snow. I'm sure theres enough people in these areas for GM to give us some RWD cars other than expensive Cadillacs.
-
CA has a huge population and doesnt snow, Arizona is growing, Texas has a huge population, Florida, all these states dont get snow. Cant they make some RWD cars for us? It might actually help GMs image problem in CA to actually get some sport sedans out there.
