  1. I wish I could be white trash in that case.
  2. I like it, minus the roof.
  3. evok, do you think DPH would make it through a strike? Or would they just close shop in the US and keep running the plants overseas?
  4. Especially when you have an aftermarket air intake instead of the factory air intake. Next up will be a pulley to increase boost, I wonder how that will affect the sound.
  5. It will effect the whole economy more if our American companies are forced to keep paying those wages that are double what they should be. If they get paid what they should be paid, everyone elses wages will not decrease. Everyone else isnt being overpaid like Delphi's workers. Our wages will stay the same. Our companies are getting their asses kicked out there, and the have no more room to breathe or take costs from anywhere else. The UAW fighting them is fighting the whole future of our businesses remaining in this country. If Delphi is broken up in the US, they still have their overseas plants. In time, those plants would be ramped up, and GM will be using those parts instead. The more the UAW fights, the more that will be lost. The UAW needs to be fighting health care costs and the trade policies that make it unfair for the companies they are paid by, and not the companies themselves.
  6. "In the global economy, workers are going to be exploited," he said. "And just because they're Americans doesn't mean a big corporation won't try to pay the least amount that people are willing to work for." Key word: Willing. If they are willing, the are not being forced.
  7. Those pictures make me cringe.
  8. 700 Whp? How detuned will the production version be? Do you know if GM will get over the 700 mark? Or will it be closer to the 650 that seems to be coming out alot lately? I really hope its over 700, not that 650 is anything to be embarrassed about though.
  9. Wow that almost looks really good. Ditch the two tone, and hood scoop, and I wouldnt mind owning it.
  10. So how does that extra 420lbs affect the handling? Why would you spend the premium to get 2mpg better for a little more straight line performance, and added weight? Wouldnt someone rather spend 1/3 less than it costs for a hybrid for a better engine like a V8, that gets the same performance without all the added weight, and probably better handling, if they cared about performance? Hybrids shouldnt be meant for performance. A turbo works much better for that.
  11. The Quad 4 doesnt sound bad, but I wouldnt put it in the same league as the GTO, Corvette or Mustang.
  12. I'd take an Explorer over the Blazer any day. They drive better, look better, and we had 0 problems with ours up to 130,000 miles when it was traded in. My brother had a 96 Blazer, I hated the steering on that truck.
  13. I can see that happening with hydrogen cars though. All it takes is one manufacturer to rush to be first with unreliable systems. Just look at diesels. Alot of people avoid them at all costs.
  14. It was 62 this morning, I was freezing. I turned the heat on in the car.
  15. Still 90 here. I like the snow, I just dont like the cold.
  16. We should think: That they are trying to stay alive since people stopped buying them as soon as Toyota and Honda started assembling cars here, since the Japanese carmakers have a one way street of fair trade.
  17. The best sounding car I have ever heard was my dads 67 Chevelle with a 327. That sound is addicting. Theres no better sound than a Chevy small block revving to 7000rpm. Just hearing that car run, you could feel the power it had, and it gets your adrenaline flowing. I just wish my dad would have let me buy it from him.
  18. But I didn't even know what his view was from his earlier post. And judging from the few posts after his, neither could anyone else.
  19. I agree about the VQ exhaust sound, although I did hear an G35 that sounded really good. But that still doesnt make up for the dozens of the ricey ones I've heard. I think the GTO, Corvette, and Mustang have the best exhaust sound.
  20. I think the G6 coupe looks worse in person. It is one of the few, if not only cars I would rather own the 4 door of. I hate that sloping rear deck. The rear is a big blob, it slopes, with no real definition. Infinity pulled that look off alot better with the G35.
  21. Kingdom of Heaven was a waste of $4. I kept watching the movie thinking it would get good, then it ended. I cant believe the same director of Gladiator was responsible for this movie. Gladiator is one of my favorite movies, and was the reason for renting Kingdom of Heaven. What a disappointment.
  22. Isn't the 6.0L being phased out for the 6.2L? The current 6.0 in the H2 only makes 316hp, and the 5.3 is getting so close in power levels, but seems to be alot more efficient. Its cheaper to just throw the 5.3 in everything and phase out the other engines like the 6.0 and 4.8
  23. But more gears add weight and size to a transmission. The weight hurting performance when those gears are skipped. They also add unnecessary cost to the vehicle. I dont think more than 6 gears are needed.
  24. Yes, I guess we all forgot to take the foreign language of Jibberish in school. I see your the master of it though.
  25. Assembled. Their average NA parts content is still less than half of the Big 3 NA content. Therefore, the Big 3 affect many many more jobs than Toyota or Honda do.
