    IS350 Review

I've noticed that for a while also. Just click on his name and find his posts. The topics are either about Toyota, or bad news about GM. I've never seen a single good post about GM, and never a single bad post about Toyota. Objective? Who is?
  2. If people wanted good deals, they wouldn't be looking for a Escalade. They are bought for the image, and I think it's about time Cadillac didn't just try to get the most sales by just being the cheapest, or in other cases(CTS) larger for the same price. Luxury brands aren't meant to be screaming deals, they are meant to show status, and to show look at how much I had to spend on this car/truck.
  3. New: Solstice Used: GTO, or early C5 Vette
  4. I'm seriously considering a Sky redline. It sounds like the engine should easily support 300hp, and with a turbo it shouldnt be to hard to get there. Hopefully the turbo spooling will drown out the sound of the 4cyl. Trunk space isnt an issue for me at all. I cant even remember the last thing I put in my trunk. I honestly dont even like to have things in my trunk. So if the Sky is basically a Solstice with a few options, and priced like one too, what would the Sky redline's price be? $28,000-$29,000?
  5. Is that rush hour freeway driving, or open road freeway driving? And just because the Ferrari needs lower gearing to take advantage of the powerband isnt a mark against the LS2. If the Corvette can accellerate faster, with higher gearing, and still get better mileage, why complain? If the Corvette's accelleration was lacking due to the gearing, it would be a different story.
  6. Even 16-20, is good for a 400hp engine. You mind looking up what comparable 400hp cars fuel economy is? 395hp Ferrari 360 Modena is what, 8-12 or around there? But how can that be, isnt the Modena lighter than a Vette? And wouldn't 6th gear be similar? OMG the Prius takes 12 seconds to 60? What is wrong with Toyota? And they are godly? (Sarcasm) What other engines are you comparing the LSx engines to? Prius engines? Civic engines? Wheres Toyotas 400hp engine? Oh they dont have one. Honda? Nope. Mercedes and BMWs 400hp engines dont come close the the Corvettes fuel economy.
  7. I agree, at least if it wears a Chevy badge. Why wouldn't someone just save up a few thousand extra and get the Corvette? Now if it was a Cadillac hardtop roadster, thats different, and IMO makes alot more sense than a Chevy roadster on kappa.
  8. I guess you could say it's cool idea, although extremely ugly. It turns an amazing car into a aztek/element rival for ugliness.
  9. My grand am left 2 black strips, that car took off hard for a 4 cyl, I beat an early 2000s 3 series up to 50mph, but he was quickly passed me after that. Did any 97 grand ams SEs come with LSD from the factory?
  10. twin turbo 7.5L V12 intercooled, camless, 48 valves, sitting in front of the rear wheels, RWD.
  11. Considering it is usually $600+ just to buy an aftermarket LSD, I would say thats cheap.
  12. This 4 door coupe will not still be named GTO, right? Looks like I wont be buying a new GM for a long time. They keep killing the coupes I like. I'll just have to keep saving for a Corvette, or possibly a Sky redline if I can get over the fact thats it's only a 4cyl. I'd rather have a 260hp V8 than a 260hp 4cyl.
  13. The picture is small, but the Saab's roof does appear that it stayed intact. If the view was from behind the Blazer, the deformed roof would still be clearly visable.
  14. Actually I do care. I like how the 3.8 SC can be modded easily. I wouldn't want a 3.6L over the 3.8 SC for that reason, unless it was the DI 305hp version. I would however, take the turbo 2.8L over the SC 3.8. In fact, a $70 pulley for the SC 3.8 will give you another ~25hp.
  15. I was thinking the same thing. But that doesn't make me like the Ridgeline :)
  16. Also exhaust differences between the Lexus and the Toyota will make up some of that difference also. I doubt Lexus uses the same exhaust as the Camry. Just look at the 3.6L from the CTS to the LaCrosse, 260hp vs. 240hp. Same engine, different ratings. And to lose 20hp due to switching from 91 to 87 is crazy for that engine. It is not a high compression, high performance engine, that would really need higher octane fuel. The engine would have to pull ~10 degrees of timing to lose 20hp. If thats the case, why cant the almighty Toyota design an engine that doesn't detonate with regular fuel? GM does it with the 3.9L "ancient pushrod" and still gets 240hp. Your posts seem more like Toyota is paying you, than objective. I have never seen you say a bad thing about a Toyota, and every post I see from you is defending the almighty Toyota, and putting down GM. Hence my question in the other thread. Oh, and that 240hp from the 3.9 is SAE certified. Please stop making excuses for Toyota.
  17. The LS6 that was used in the CTS-V was only 62lbs heavier than the 3.2L all aluminum V6 in the base CTS. The difference in weight IS due to the tranny, bigger brakes, stronger rear end, etc. Your attacks on the LSx engines are unfounded.
  18. Edmunds-CTS-V specs CTV-V is 3850lbs, I dont know where 3500lbs came from. That is over a 650lb difference from the Corvette.
  19. CTS-V isnt 3500lbs either, more like 3800lbs. And razor is right about the octane, you can only gain hp if the timing is being pulled due to detonation. You could then use higher octane gas, and restoring the timing.
  20. If thats a Blazer then I'm not surprised
  21. Will the regulations be adjusted accordingly? Or will the avg required still be the 27.5 or whatever it is, even when cars drop ~20% across the board?
  22. I like the cladded Avalanche more than the non-cladded version, but wish the cladding was painted body color. They just look like a crew cab Silverado with no cladding. The reason I like the EXT so much more is because of the body colored cladding, and the engine.
  23. Yes they do, especially without the restrictive factory airbox so can hear the supercharger whining. I'm getting my exhaust done tomorrow, and this weekend I'm putting a smaller pulley, so more whine, and better exhaust sound. Perfect :)
  24. I never really cared for Porsche. I know they are great handling, fast cars, but their styling never did anything for me. Theres only one Porsche that I think looks good, and I dont even know the name of it. 996 Maybe? I'm not sure. I would rather have a Corvette, or even a BMW instead of a Porsche.
  25. I remember reading the Lambdas would get the 5.3L from a few different places, but as always I dont keep track of where I read it. I wouldn't complain about the 5.3L, but I would rather have the 3.6 than the 3.9.
