  1. Thats what I'm thinking. I dont think we will start to see profits until 07. There will probably be more restructuring charges, employee buyouts, and the delphi deal that will keep GM from making money in 06.
  2. I hate Toyota, but I kinda like that car, but I dont know why. Not enough to ever be seen in one, but it looks cool.
  3. Because the whole car is newer than the Lacrosse, starting with the platform. Even with those things, the Lacrosse would be barely competitive. The Aura has a chance to be the best in its class, so why not go for it.
  4. I agree. But even the Town Car is going away. So what will they buy, STS's? Or would they start buying Lexus because there are no more Devilles?
  5. Well in my eyes it hurts Cadillacs image, and I think it is the worst looking Cadillac. It brings up Cadillacs average buyer age. So if it's rear drive, it's a BMW clone. So if it's front drive that would make it what? Camry clone? Aveo clone? It certainly isn't the standard of anything, let alone the world.
  6. Me. I have 280 in my grand prix. It's not enough. I think I'm going to buy a cam and small intercooler. I should have 370hp when thats done.
  7. And as we all know, GM never releases good pictures. They are always in silver, and at the worst possible angle. So from this picture, it looks good, but could be better. I would still rank it above the rest in its class, even from this bad picture of it.
  8. I agree with that. He doesn't necessarily need to be banned, but the constant self promotion, and Wagoner bashing needs to be toned down. I come across as a Wagoner supporter, which I'm really not. I do feel his job is not as easy as some would like us to believe, and realize change takes time, and there are constraints to every move he makes. Is he perfect, no. But then again, who is? We all know BM's feelings toward Wagoner, so why does it have to be mentioned on every single article that includes Wagoner's name in it? If you cant say anything new that you haven't said 100 times, then dont say anything at all.
  9. I still like it, but will agree they lost alot from concept to production. I'm not so worried about the front, as I am the sides. The lower side moldings from the concept should definately have been kept. I think thats one of the things that makes the SRX look awkward too.
  10. Hey if everyone wants to lump the Asians, more specifically Toyota vs the big 3, why not give them what they want. GM, Ford and DCX, working together on technology. Ford and GM already worked together on the 6 speed autos, and now DCX and GM are supposed to have a more advanced hybrid than Toyota. Maybe the media putting the American companies backs against the wall could spark some good technology, and resource sharing between the 3.
  11. Theres a difference between wanting a better GM, and coming here for self promotion. Big, big difference.
  12. Respect goes both ways. I would consider Northstar very mature, especially for his age. I think it is appropriate.
  13. Yes it is. I'm a Pontiac fan, but cant get over the styling of the G6. I'll take the Aura anyday, even at a higher price.
  14. I think Cadillac needs to replace the DTS completely. I dont think the cars target buyer cares there is only a 4 speed.
  15. I second that. Why can we not have a thread that doesn't include bashing Wagoner, and BM promotion by himself and his dealer buddies from "dealers monthly" or whatever its called. All BM does here, is market himself, like he is some kind of car god. If he was a car god, he would have been hired by one of the auto manufacturers. And BM, dont you know you lose credibility(not like you have any left) when you are so one sided and cant be objective? I can sum up every one of your posts in one sentence. Wagoner sucks and should be fired/arrested, and BM is the greatest, and can fix GM. How many times will you repeat the same exact thing?
  16. You can tell that the FJ owns the H3 on and off road from a photo? I wish I was born with that ability.
  17. Well being retro is one thing, but being American is another. The Charger is not retro, and neither is the CTS, but they are definately American. The G6 would be on the opposite end, they tried too hard to look Japanese. Someone who likes Japanese designs, will just go out and buy a Japanese car, they wont buy an American car that looks Japanese. A return to American design, without going retro is the way to go.
  18. Doesn't the LS4 already have 335ft/lbs of torque? The trans is only rated for 300ft/lbs
  19. I'll take a GTO over a charger. I still like the charger though. But like Camino said, 2 doors and a manual, I wouldnt have it any other way. An auto is acceptable on a family car, but on a rwd car with a powerful V8? Not for me.
  20. hundreds of million is chump change right now. GM needs to make fundamental changes, not just adjustments, or spend a little less, here, then make a few cuts here. GM would need to completely cut out the whole marketing budget to make an impact, which obviously would not be wise. GM needs to make big cuts on the cost side, while still investing more in r&d for new products. Want to give a glimpse of the big cuts you would propose?
  21. Yea, that, and my work runs off Pacific time, so while I dont have to change my clocks back, I do have to go in an hour earlier.
  22. I like being in Arizona time and not changing it at all throughout the year.
  23. You mean like my 240hp Grand Prix? Well now it has 280hp, but I still average 23mpg in mixed driving. Not to mention it is now 8 years old. I dont drive like an old lady either, I love to hear my SC whine, it's kind of an addiction. But seriously, 200hp and 23mpg combined isnt even anything special, especially for a car that size.
  24. I love the color. I havent seen any color look bad on a corvette
