  1. Spring and Fall. Summer is too hot. I can still go jet skiing and swimming in the spring and fall. It's 95 today, I think I'm going to go for a swim later. Winter is too cold. I hate when it's only 40 degrees when I am driving to work in the morning, glad I have a seat warmer.
  2. I stopped liking the grand Prix in 2004, but I love the previous model. In fact, I own a 98 GTP coupe. I would rather have the un-Pontiac like Commodore, than a 2004 and up Grand Prix. I would rather have the Commodore than pretty much all of Pontiacs current line up. And the 2004 and up Grand Prix is a disaster. 55% are fleet sales. Bring on the Commodore. The G6 coupe looks like an Infiniti to me, I don't like it. The sedan looks better, but not much. The Torana and Commodore blow both the G6 and Grand Prix away, styling wise. 4 out of 5 cars I have owned in my life have been Pontiacs. If Pontiac keeps its current trend, my next car wont be a Pontiac. In fact, the only Pontiac I want right now, is a Holden, the GTO.
  3. If you wonder why Saturn is getting new product, and Pontiac isn't, just read some of the comments on this thread. No one will complain the Saturn NEEDS to look like a Saturn, NEEDS to be styled here, NEEDS to be built here, NEEDS to fit their specific image of how a car for that brand should look. I would be happy if it looked like the Commodore with a Pontiac grill. Does a 93 Grand Am fit Pontiacs image? An Aztek? a G6? A Torrent? What exactly does a Pontiac look like?
  4. So if Saturn makes money, which gives GM more money to invest in brands such as Buick and Pontiac, thats a bad thing?
  5. And I think Japan just spent billions on missile defense systems from none other than the USA. Everything is global now. Any business that doesn't realize, and take advantage of that, is doomed.
  6. What you think is a negative for the company(being new and not having history) is actually its advantage. Do you remember all the negative comments from Pontiac fans when GM brought them a 350hp V8 RWD coupe because it didn't fit their image of what it should look like?(GTO) Saturn has no such image. Saturn can go in any direction GM wants it to, unlike the rest of the divisions. If GM gives Pontiac RWD cars, Pontiac fans go crazy because now they cant drive in the rain. If Pontiac makes a modern car, it's not retro enough. Or too retro. Buick cant even put bucket seats in a car without negative comments from Buick fans. You think there may have ever been a time when(gasp) Oldmobile and Buick were new companies and had 0 history? Well they made history and grew an identity, just like Saturn is doing today.
  7. Or maybe they have a 10% shareholder looking to up his value? GM is going through the motions, then will decline the offer, or request some crazy payoff from Nissan causing Nissan to decline the offer.
  8. Why not take pictures that people post of their cars in the Members rides showcase forum, and use them as the starting point for a competition?
  9. Lets sue the public for driving unnecessarily. They should all be riding bikes or walking, or else they would be contributing to global warming. Lets sue every person in California who drives a car. Lets make it illegal to drive with empty seats, because you could have been carpooling, and cutting emissions.
  10. So if GM raised prices, and lost marketshare, BM would complain, and say management needs to go. If GM lowers prices, BM would complain, and say management needs to go. If GM gives rebates to try to move product, BM would complain, and say management needs to go. Nothing is ever good enough I guess
  11. Who cares if they are rebadged. Just compare them to what Pontiac and Chevy has now...... Besides, it's not like you can go out and buy a Holden, so I wouldn't considered rebadged anyway. Holden seems like the only part of GM that seems to be doing the product right anyway.
  12. And we get Impalas, Lacrosses and Grand Prixs why? These would be perfect here as Pontiacs the first would make a great Chevy.
  13. How about the replacement be called Tempest and be based off the Torana?
  14. The front even works as a Pontiac
  15. I've seen 10 Solstice 1 Sky, saw an Aura today, an Aston Martin about a week ago, a black STS V, a black XLR V, 3 Ram SRT-10s, 3 07 Z06s(I can't believe how exotic they look when you see them coming towards you, I thought it was a Ferrari until it got closer). The Solstice looks exotic too. I asked my mom how much she thought it cost, she said it couldn't be less than $100,000. She was stunned when I said it was $20,000.
  16. I dont get why that would mean they are going to close the brands. That just tells me the same thing GM has been saying for years, that they wont be full brands, and will be more focused. Like Pontiac not having a minivan.
  17. Wait, so what about that article about Toyota recalls, saying they are good because they send the customer to the dealer for great service. Well what if Toyota dealers are very bad for service? Are the recalls still "good"?
  18. Heated/cooled seats. More specifically, cooled seats. I like leather, but I live in Arizona. Sitting on 150+ degree leather is not my idea of a fun drive. Heads up display. Non V series with a Northstar. Hand Brake Don't lose the option for a manual transmission. Seats colored to the car like what is available on the GTO.
  19. I hate crank windows. My 97 Grand Am had them. I put the passenger side window up, started driving home, got on the highway, and it started whistling because it wasn't all the way up. So then I had to do a balancing act trying to put it the rest of the way up while driving, and since the crank is low on the doors, it wasn't very easy to reach. I like to drive with all the windows down, so they need to be power for me.
  20. Why is it that, anyone who doesn't agree with you is wrong? Don't try to put us down because we can see right through your plan, just like GM's management did. And you are crossing out of your area of expertise, every time you call out GM's management. You may know how to sell Buicks in MI, but you do not know how to run a multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporation, which you prove everytime you post here. You've come to the wrong place if your looking to find support for your plan. Everyone here knows it's all about the product, and it always will be.
  21. Where in your plan does it show how to turn a Toyota buyer, into a GM buyer? None of your points will do that. It's all about the product, and how much it costs to make that product. Toyota can do anything GM can do, but cheaper. Your plan wont change that.
  22. I cant take the higher humidity. Living in AZ I am in 110+ degree weather regularly, but with less than 10% humidity. One thing I disagree with though, is that it does not cool down at night, at least not in the city, because the asphalt holds the heat. It is still 95-100 degrees at 10pm. But I can still handle that alot better than the humidity. I went to South Texas last year, 100 degree weather with 75+% humidity, and I couldn't breathe. It felt like I was trying to breathe through a towel.
  23. We will do that, as soon as you address the O.C.'s response to your plan. I predict that will be.........never.
  24. It's not like they are buying the whole company, the articles state it would be a minority stake. Their sales numbers wouldn't even be counted together if it does happen. Does that mean GM would be buying a stake in Nissan as well?
  25. I agree. I would rather it be with Nissan than with any other Japanese company.
