  1. Scion makes a full size crossover now? I will have to disagree with everyone and say this is one of the ugliest Fords in recent times.
  2. Everytime I take someone for a ride in my car, their response is the same. They all say "I want one!" Even my dad and brother who always made fun of it as being a Cavalier on steroids, say now that they have seen one up close they actually like it. And really, how big did everyone think the market for a $32,000 400hp V8 coupe would be? The only reason the GTO appears to be a failure(which I don't beleive it is), is because it didn't have a $25000 300hp V6 model or a sedan to go with it. What are we comparing it to to consider it a failure? Mustang- the GT is $7,000 cheaper. Charger- it's a sedan, and you can get it with a V6 for $10,000 cheaper. G35- also has a sedan version. How many Camaro SS, and Trans Ams did GM sell?
  3. I remember those days of snow sometimes into April. Not anymore. I'll be swimming in a week or 2 once the pool warms up to close to 80 degees. It 97 degrees outside right now
  4. Instead of thinking in terms of sales, which I assume most go to the older set, or fleets, why not think in terms of prestige? Why not ask yourself why probably 90% of cars sold at prices above $40k have either RWD or AWD? The reason the DTS sells, is not because it is FWD, but because it is a full size luxury car for $50k. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't luxury supposed to charge a premium? All the other car makers can get $70k+ for their full size luxury cars. The DTS should be a Buick, not a Cadillac, and Cadillac should have a TRUE luxury competitor, not a discount luxury competitor.
  5. Well it was the previous gen Viper. It wasn't an early one though, because the exhaust was out the back, not the side pipes.
  6. Why not? I was even with a Viper, who on paper should have "handed my arse to me"My bother also beat an SRT-4 with a 1999 V6 Mustang.... with a 60 shot of nitrous.
  7. I think I'm going to go with a Corsa Sport cat back system on mine. Corsa
  8. Because maybe that cheaping out is why they have the image they have? The American companies simply can not compete on cost.
  9. Why not just take on the best seller...... the 3 series? I'm sure there's some BMW fans out there complaining about too many RWD BMWs, 1-3-5-6-7 series, Z4, X5, X3, not to mention conv, and wagon versions of a few of them. But Cadillac has 3 and that's plenty?
  10. Thanks, I'll check there. I just think 17s and 18s would look a little too small for that car. Tires.com does have 1 set of 19s listed for the GTO, they don't look bad. The GTO really was not made for big wheels, compared to a Charger/Magnum/300. The overall diameter on the GTO is 25.25 in, while on the Charger/Magnum/300 it is 28.25.
  11. Really? I think 245/35/19 would keep the same overall diameter.
  12. I was thinking about getting the tailights, and I want to get 19s.
  13. I don't think I've seen one with a front fascia extension, or at least didn't notice it. Who sells it?
  14. Actually, its my 5th Pontiac.97 Grand Am coupe 96 Grand Am sedan 01 Grand Am coupe 98 Grand Prix GTP coupe 05 GTO
  15. Here are some pictures
  16. It's an 05 GTO, Red/black, 13,000 miles, 6 speed manual. Pictures coming soon. This is would also be my 4th Pontiac.
  17. Too many emotions and not enough business sense. The only way I see GM buying Chrysler, is if GM bought them, filed for bankruptcy, bought the pieces that have some value for cheap, and dumped the rest, including the excess capacity and workers, then using that as an example for the rest of the UAW, picking up some additional sales in the process without added capacity. Having the factories running closer to 100% may well be worth the cheap price GM could probably get Chrysler for. And despite all the comments about how bad this is for the American car makers, this would actually put both GM and Ford in a better position to make better cars to better compete against Toyota, and the other foreign competitors.
  18. And I'm thinking about buying a used 05 GTO, because I'm looking to spend around $25,000, and GM doesn't have any other RWD cars in my price range. I definately wont be buying a G6 or a Grand Prix. Also, IMO, the Aura looks better than the G6.
  19. Seeing as how the Grand Prix is about 60% fleet sales, they wont lose much. And the Aura looks good/sporty to cover for the FWD G6 anyway.
  20. After reading through the document, which we need to consider who is being written for, the government, you will see why the most pessimistic numbers were used. "The government may also wish to explore ways to incentivize the full useful life savings to manufacturers or customers." "As Honda has previously announced, we believe it is time for the Federal government to take action to improve vehicle economy. Given the rapid changes in technology, performance-based incentives are the best way to move the ball forward."
  21. I'd rather see the profits go to GM, instead of the dealers, so if GM can get more for them, they should. As long as GM can keep the demand up, I see it as a good thing.
  22. It's funny how other countries are perceived as a threat, even when they have the same overall goal as us. Why can't we grow, with our allies, instead of being xenophobic?
  23. In the world of politics, Japan is an ally, and so is Germany. 2 countries we went to war with many decades ago.
  24. The 3 hits the Civics peak torque number at around 2200rpms, and doesn't fall below that until 6000 rpms.In the rpm range you mentioned, the 3 is nearly 100 ft lbs higher than the Civics peak torque the whole time. How is that considerably less?
  25. People are switching from all brands. Most people don't stay loyal anymore. Do you think no one traded in a Toyota for an American car?
