  3. I think there are many foreign owned banks already.
  4. I've had several work mates from Cal Poly Pomona and impressed by them all.
  5. I commuted 31 miles each way, 6 days a week, for 9 years. That included snow in the winter, too. Thank goodness for the reliabilty and handling, economy and handling of Peugeot (60 and 70's)
  6. B.S. in agricultural chemistry Ph.D. in Biochemistry National Research Foundation Postdoc.
  7. Goshen said most of the top people were making the move. My experience is that they will make the move but will be back. Of course some/many may be new hires from other parts of the country any way. Goshen says its all been studied.
  8. The Co,orad/canyon twins offer a trunk in the bed of the trunk and you don't need to remove anything to get at it. Why this option is not available for retail coustomers, I do not know.
  9. I think that the cities in the "South" are much more like the cities in the rest of the country than they are like the rural area of their own state. Hey! any one want to talk about cars?
  10. Actually that was 5 brands (Chevy,Pontiac, Olds, Buick, and Cadillac). Also GMC, but nothing like a car there. I think you are right though that Bank rupty is not the end. It will be hard on people/organizations that have insvested in common stock. Perhaps this is analagous to all the comments before GM debt was downgraded to Junk level. The name is worse than the bite. These are difficult times.
  11. Exactly what is so new tech about the mini, and so old tech about the corvette?
  12. Saturn isn't participating in these incentives. Last month Saturn ws the only major GM brand to year to year sales increases.
  13. GM needs this. In today's paper Corolla LE is going for $3000 less than cobalt. Camry LE 4 cylinder and Cobalt are nearly the samne price.
  14. At one time there were tariffs on import cars but not trucks, now the opposite is true. Additionally, if pick up truck owners are loyal, why wouldn't that extend to small pickups once their favorite brand was available domestically.
  15. I wonder if the comment about the gas milage rating being optimistic is true at all. These engines have a lot in common with the ecotec engine family (DOHC, loss foam casting techniques, etc.) and many, many owners of Saturn cars using those engine report significant improvements in gas milage after 5000 miles or more.
  16. local hummer dealer claims 275 H3s in stock!!
  17. You need to learn to express yourself without being the most obnoxious possible person that you can. Its just a car - cmattson didn't say your baby was ugly!
  18. If that speculation were true, the likely replacement, 3.5 DOHC, is 255 horspower. Not much to choose apart from here. Classification by rank, as in statisitcs, often accentuates miniscule differences.
  19. It seems to me that the I-5 would be advantageous for oof roading due to lower weight, better center of gravity, and 220 hp is already too much for the traction conditions available.
  20. It already has 250! I don't see much of a difference.
  21. Saturn is the only GM division (save hummer) to show a year to year ncrease in sales. Perhaps the plastic planels are just now catching on.
  22. click here Maybe it's going to be a pusuit coupe with the straight 8 engine as standard equipment.
  23. Perhaps it was the latter explanation(fuel milage vs. pull ahead sales) as Saturn was the only major division to show a year to year increase and they have a reputation for good fuel milage.
  24. No Toyota connection. The Malibu shared its architecture with the Grand Am and Olds Alero.
  25. Saturn sales are up for th emonth. I wonder if any of this is due to the relative availability and advantageous pricing of 2.4 l. engine.
