  1. Buickman is not going to like this.
  2. This is the posters third or fourth consecutive Saturn with over 200,000 miles. I was most impressed with one that he sold to his mother with 230,000 miles on it. I have to apoligize for making the topic title too long as the end of it was cut off. It was to be satire and read that too bad Saturn and GM can't build good cars like Honda and Toyota. Just a little bit of sillyness.
  3. http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68994
  4. Your relatives name will have to go on the title. I see no problem with removing it later.
  5. www.gmcard.com/topoff2k My present balance is $91 in earnings. GM card is rounding it up to $2000. Last year they rounded us up to $1500 and we helped my brother in law get a new silverado. Unfortunelely vehicles not included are the cobalt, vibe, and all Saturns. These are all most likely purchases for us. Surprisingly the 2007 Tahoe, etc. are included.
  6. My wife(California native) and children always ridiculed my Rhode Island accent. I always tell them that people were talking like this in Rhode Island when Californians were still running around in loin clothes.
  7. Several posts implied chevy wants one thing and GM another. Just how would that work?? There are no chevy engines, transmissions, alternators, etc. They are all GM. There is no Chevy only designers are there. Isn't the indivusal for small car development (Queen) the same for Saurn and Chevy. So who exactly is the chevy in Chevy wants this but GM won't give it to them? I thought those days of division independance were long gone. Comments?
  8. I think that Catalina Island, just 26 miles west of the CA cost is actually on another continent. The continental shelf (good name ofr a Lincoln) ends in a very deep trouth somewhere between the coast and Catalina. Any Geologists in the group?
  9. I am GUESSING hat the lambda architecture is too expensive to aim other than high. Insider comments? Any one?
  10. And are you likewise claiming that it is Mr Farago, and not you who blames us Jews?
  11. There are a couple of posters on saturnfans.com who own both esacape and VUE vehicles. They seem to be of one mind that the VUE is much quieter and more comfortable than is the Escape. No one single complaint about body panel gaps. Some do defend their choice of the escape.
  12. Great use of color! Looks to be another winner.
  13. Hey! we got those too! Actually nicely kept older F-150s with animal appendages and cut outs are big with some of the hispanics.
  14. Well I am a Californian and have a Pontiac! My dealer and his competitors will be very sad to hear of your suggestion. Isn't California the top state for GTO sales.
  15. 54. Local Lexus dealer sold almost 1100 new cars last month. It must be the dry cleaning service and starbucks coffee they offer.
  16. November 2006 is the second LA car show. 2 shows this year only.
  17. I suspect that the 5 speed automatic transmission will be a tremedous advantage in this class of cars. The three koreans and the yaris will be hurting.
  18. packaging>frontal area>wind resistance>fuel milage
  19. The ends don't justify the means. BM seems to unfairly target people and the Rotshchield thing is just code talk for anti-semmatism. He is a waste. You, on the other hand, routinely write the most interesting posts of any non-insider.
  20. We Californians get a lot of not so friendly ribbing around here; so here are some jokes to calm you all down. Enjoy Californians So as not to be outdone by all the redneck, hillbilly, and Texan jokes, you know you're from California if: 1. Your coworker has 8 body piercings and none are visible. 2. You make over $100,000 and still can't afford a house. 3. You take a bus and are shocked at two people carrying on a conversation in English. 4. Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Flower. 5. You can't remember . . is pot illegal? 6. You! 've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor. 7. You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian. 8. You can't remember . . . is pot illegal? 9. A really great parking space can totally move you to tears. 10. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the U.S. 11. Unlike back home, the guy at 8:30 am at Starbucks wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney really IS George Clooney. 12. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment. 13. You can't remember . . . is pot illegal? 14. It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH." 15. You pass an elementary school playground and the children are all busy with their cells or pagers. 16. It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents. 17. HEY!!!! Is pot illegal???? 18. Both you AND your dog have therapists. 19. The Terminator is your governor. 20. If you drive illegally, they take your driver's license. If you're here illegally, they want to give you one.
  21. FOG is going to like this guy
  22. The dispalcement of an engine(3.9 l. in your example) is a false measure. The weight of an engine is critical to performance and fuel economy. The outside demensions of an engine are critical to packaging and perhaps frontal area by extension. These are critical concerns of a good engineer. The displacement is a nebulous thing at best.
  23. It was leaking electrons on the floor and making a mess.
  24. I think that what you are refering to is a wash sale. It is for federal income tax purposes only and may apply to individuals only, I don't know. The sale and repurchase isn't prohibited, the caliming it as a tax right off is.
  25. If I remember correctly, on occasion there has been "talk" of this site being short changed by GM. Perhaps Buickman's prescence here has harmed cheersand gears reputation?
