  1. Heavy equipment is fine. Just NOT regular cars, please.
  2. Airless Tire Technology. Does anyone remember run-flat tires from about ten years ago? Those were bad and few actually sold. WHY are they repeating the same mistakes?
  3. This sounds great. One question: what if nobody buys what these plants are making 5-7 years from now?
  4. OK. Why are Camaro sales last year so low compared to the Challenger and the Mustang?
  5. Unproven technology with no driver override. Possibly very dangerous. YOU go First!
  6. The reality is SAD because a lot of buyers are settling for Toyota when they are no longer the leader in quality. Simply put, Toyota is living off a reputation that is no longer true. What is even sadder is that fewer people are buying GM vehicles than ever. While mediocrity at GM has diminished, sales numbers do not reflect the new reality. To a lot of people, when in doubt, buy the Toyota. SAD.
  7. And yet the default is buy a Toyota. Just like buy a Chevrolet 40 or 50 years ago was the default. SAD.
  8. I believe that since no one has died, coverage is more sparse and less sensationalist. Also, some people are willing to cut Tesla some slack, given how young and 'hip' the company is compared to the competition. Eventually Tesla will probably be swept aside by the legacy automakers since Tesla has not made a truly affordable model to replace all the new/newish cars out there.
  9. Uh, how did this happen? The plans for the new school and how/when it was built . . . .
  10. People keep saying that Genesis is doing better than ever. Which cars/crossovers/trucks/SUVs are being traded in for Genesis vehicles? Is Genesis really conquering customers from other luxury marques OR is Genesis netting customers coming from more mainstream brands?
  11. Can these EV trucks survive a Detroit or Minneapolis winter with little or no loss in performance and battery life? That is the question!
  12. While the (second) demise of the Hemi is sad, it wasn't like they were selling quite as much as a V6 (or an I4) equipped crossover these days. Those who want a Hemi MAY switch to a Camaro rather than a Corvette, since that is the closest competitor to all those Hemi-engined cars. The trucks will probably stay, albeit with a TT v6. One question: How reliable are the HEMI engines compared to the Chrysler 3.5 v6? I may be wrong, but it seems that a lot of owners would rev the HEMIs so hard that the engine (or something related like the transmission) might wear out prematurely.
  13. Cadillac certainly NEEDS to replace their current XT vehicles ASAP. The cars can stay as is for another couple of years since it seems everybody wants to buy a crossover instead of a sedan these days.
  14. A new fact of life: smaller menus and higher prices for what is left in a lot of cases.
  15. The BMW drivers I understand. Their behavior has been that bad for at least 30 years now. Now the slow Acura/Lexus/Toyota driver seems to be a relatively new thing. I have not seen the slow driving behavior around here recently, if ever.
  16. Interesting. I saw a BMW 530e a few days back. I did not hear it coming or going. You know, E as in electric. As if that Bimmer was a Tesla.
  17. Bad spelling does make a defensible trademark. As for the names, I am not a fan but I am not hostile to those new names. I am glad that Cadillac is using names and NOT alphanumeric designations for their new EVs.
  18. Edison had a point in his day. He had a point when the GM EV1 was out on the streets. If this can be done cheaply, then maybe we as a society can quietly abandon fossil fuels for good. I do hope that these batteries can survive a Minneapolis/Saint Paul winter or three to be truly viable.
  19. I think we all wish we had our 20 year old bodies and metabolisms right now and for the next decade or three. Me included.
  20. Ah how times have changed. . . . for the worse.
  21. A ticking sound in the engine of your Escalade when you start it up? It is pathetic that GM would claim that is normal! The 3800 in my Lucerne has NEVER done that. What are they doing? Why the weak excuses? Maybe there isn't one that can be had for such an affordable price. Relatively speaking.
  22. Competition is great. You would have to abolish all dealer agency laws in each state first. It is still difficult to shut down an underperforming dealership without a giant exit fee from the automaker, even now.
  23. That BMW SAV is ugly AF. Especially in that awful shade of green.
  24. And just think: so many people complain about quality in GM cars. . . . Tesla needs TQM more than GM does.
  25. It is rather easy to fall in love (or out of love) with a car that inspires so much passion in anyone.
