  1. Wow. So all the desirable features are in the higher-end, pricier trims. This is pathetic. The Blazer needs about a $5000 discount off the top right now. . . or at least ditch the base model and have all other trims come down by at least $3000. . . . or they could improve the value and keep the price by replacing that turbo four with the V6. Trucks aside, why does Chevy think it can wade into Buick pricing?!
  2. You must have hated the Great Shrinking of 1977-79 on virtually all cars.
  3. So Cadillac . . . . where is the XT7 to combat this one and the GLS-class?
  4. You may have to go XT4 or XT5 to come close to those floaty luxoboats from 35-50 years ago. Too bad most large sedans are an endangered species these days, especially those wit h high-torque engines (DOHC need not apply).
  5. Probably. Depends on the contract once the lease has run its course.
  6. Buyers do not (have to) care about resale. Lessees must care about resale since that is the difference between walking away paying nothing or paying a lot of cash to get out of their lease.
  7. Bad leadership sent all of VW down this hole. No telling on when VW/Audi will recover.
  8. Now if only Cadillac would release an XT5 or XT4 EV. . . . .
  9. You would think that Bloomberg (or anyone else) would go for an XT4 pic rather than a 1982 Cimarron pic as their lead photo.
  10. In this CUV era, BMW has too many sedan variants. Too bad nobody really NEEDS anX6, when the X5 will do nicely. In better news, within a year Cadillac will have an XT6 to go along with the XT5 and just released XT4. About time.
  11. No Edsel equivalents these days. That marque would be run out of the market in three years, just like Edsel.
  12. . . . . . . . and you wonder why the Colorado/Canyon and other midsize trucks sell so well.
  13. The biggest demand for autonomous vehicles will probably be fleets, especially taxi fleets. Uber and Lyft may be interested since they will not have to pay ANY drivers this time.
  14. It is strange that some of the current CUVs somewhat resemble that Mazda 323 from the late '70s, such as the Infiniti QX30 I keep seeing at a parking lot near where I work.
  15. Nobody said climbing out of Diesel habits and into EVs would be easy.
  16. GM got beat up on the sales front across the board. Not many sales increases anywhere either. Horse, how many Fords have betrayed you over the years for yo to feel that way?
  17. How much does CA need so-called flyover country? Especially given that CA is a net donor to federal coffers while most of the South are net recipients of federal dollars. (Not sure about TX or FL.)
  18. I am glad Jeep is doing this because it seems that most gas engines in most unibody vehicles have less torque than 10 or 15 years ago. While I would prefer that torquey engine be naturally aspirated, there is nothing wrong with a smaller turbocharged engine if it will do the job and survive at least 200K miles with no major issues.
  19. IS BMW THAT far behind Mercedes Benz in sales? MB seems to be a luxury brand for almost every luxury buyer, whereas BMW is still luxury sports sedans (and the X SAVs).
  20. The Trump administration would be wise to drop the lawsuits against CARB for those emissions requirements and even smarter if that administration dropped the lawsuit against CA new net neutrality rules. I doubt they would do that but one can hope.
  21. Quick Question: Is the XT5 as well-equipped as the new XT4 that just came out, or are there some missing features in the larger CUV?
  22. You know, it is too bad that Cadillac does not have an answer for the X7 or GLK class. The Escalade is really good, but it is a BOF SUV, so that should not count. I am not sure if a (possible) XT7 should be built on the same platform as a Buick Enclave Avenir, or a longer wheelbase version. Cadillac will also need a (possible) XT3 that would be the same size as a Buick Encore just to compete against the luxury cute utes out there. Any other ideas?
  23. Or possibly stanch the bleeding. This will force the Board of Directors to get a real car guy that can right the ship and execute a plan. . . . . or at least find the right buyer. If Tesla needs Elon Musk, then that is a real problem.
  24. Same reason the SRX went FWD: sales. The original luxury crossover, the first Lexus RX, defined the market in ways that are still palpable today. Few RWD crossovers sell compared to their FWD competition. As for the reinvention, it is ALL ABOUT a unique selling point: why Cadillac instead of BMW/MB/Audi/Lexus/Acura? The new head at Cadillac had better figure out why anyone should buy a Cadillac AND push that. No need to ape Japan or Germany on anything.
  25. That is the problem with deeply arrogant men (especially). Only a stint in a correctional facility will actually force some humility down his throat. Yes he should be ousted from Tesla, just for being stupid and excessively arrogant and self-important.
