Not much better here: both Sam's and Costco have no TP or paper towels. Wal-Mart had some but it is limited. NO rubbing alcohol at all though. Disinfecting wipes are hard to find too. Same with gels to a lesser degree.

This is the real issue for GM. Toyota did not have the 70s and 80s and 90s be a total cluster***k like GM did. Tesla never went through BK like GM did. GM needs to convince everyone born after 1980 that they have the best vehicles (especially EVs) bar none. Now there will be a struggle (CR dislikes most things GM going back about 50 years or so), but it must be done where it matters: The Equinox EV and its smaller and larger brethren must be better than Toyota and Tesla (and a better value!), otherwise GM is woefully screwed for the next generation or two.

Since the CT4 and the CT5 are already out, will there be a replacement for the CT6 and make it at least as good as the Escalade? (Yes I know that CT6 production ended about 60 days ago.)

The XT6 is DEAD? It has only been out for less than a year. The XTS is dead and deservedly so. FWD Cadillac sedans deserve their grave. Give me a CT6 any day of the week rather than the XTS.

If Tesla (or a competitor) is smart, they they would aim at $15K-$20K in order to persuade buyers out of the used car market in favor of a new car. Few new cars sell for less than $20K these days. SOMEBODY should see this as a grossly underserved market ripe for the taking, and then build that customer up into higher level vehicles. Just like GM used to do from 1920-1980.

You would, but a lot of Americans disagree. Unfortunately, the market has spoken a great deal about sales of new wagons.

Not everybody lives in a place where an F150 can be easily parked. Some of us live in cities where auto real estate is limited and expensive.

Maybe the real issue with Cadillac is that everyone is measuring Cadillac by MB/BMW/Audi standards. An American marque is NOT raised on the autobahn and will never be (Corvette aside) a BMW 3 series. The real question is simple: what do you want in a luxury vehicle? Yes I am aware that the Cadillac coupes have failed since the first Allante 30 years ago. No Cadillac will not go the way of Bentley or Rolls Royce (>$200K) because there are simply too many Cadillacs on the road and are easily available in the used car market. As long as Boomers still basically despise (if not hate) almost anything made in the USA, the luxury market will still be speaking German (and sometimes Japanese). Cadillac does NEED a unique selling point that is so desirable, even Boomers will trade in their German luxury cars (and crossovers) post haste. Then again, Cadillac should aim for everyone born after 1970, rather than before 1960.

Maybe Honda should take the hint and build a small pickup similar to the Ridgeline. Ideally, Ford and GM would build one of each too.

About time. GM and Ford had to do their purges (especially GM) a decade ago. Between 2007 and 2010, over 800 dealerships were shut down thanks to the last recession: all of them Detroit Three. MB does not have that dealer bloat problem (fewer than 1000 in the USA alone), but this culling of the herd is almost unheard of (well, except for GM's BK).

Hard Pass on "shared mobility". If I want shared mobility, I will get a bus pass or take a train.

Perilous, or necessary? One day, governments might decide to essentially BAN the ICE in favor of BEVs. Sounds like Cadillac (and GM in general) are looking ahead to that (admittedly distant) possibility.

So mercantilism is good for whom exactly? As long as nations and peoples have differing competencies, free trade is still the best way to maximize consumer welfare. Comparative advantage would still lead you to a rules-based free trade regime. Does China cheat? YES. Do we need to address some of our economic problems? yes. But the notion of free trade is economic suicide presumes that all consumers in an economy essentially work for a handful of domestic producers that can (and in many cases has) produced shoddy goods at high prices. Australia's problem is that the market is simply TOO SMALL to sustain an auto industry that requires investment in the billions and sales in the millions every single year. High tariffs on any goods only protect domestic industries from competition that would make consumers' lives better. Crushing the weak and defending the strong who can lobby their way to hiding behind an invisible wall with no recourse for anyone else is just plain silly and counterproductive. Protecting industries for a nation of barely 25 million people is a massive tax on its citizens, and pursuing that policy is wrong for a whole host of reasons. A few jobs here and there will not make up for the fact that it would still be more expensive to dramatically cut down or worse yet cut off trade with other nations. Consumers are always better off if there is competition, foreign or otherwise, for their hard earned wages to buy anything. Mercantilism only helps a few at the expense of consumers anywhere. Besides, if free trade were suicide, then why has trade consistently exceeded worldwide GDP growth since WWII? Free trade is a good thing to have; mercantilism is wrong.

That BMW i4 concept is UGLY AF! Even the new Silverado trucks are not this freaking UGLY.

THIS idea actually makes sense. Smaller cars because of engine displacement taxes is a sound idea indeed. Buick China outsells Buick USA by 4 to 1, hence why Buick is focused there. It would be completely ridiculous for a small Cadillac to be sold here, especially in crossover form.

That is how GM ended up in BK back in 2008-10: too many cars in too many niches and the sales did NOT justify the investment. Cadillac should improve their USP and not chase every little niche.

I hope this mass cancellation of events only affects this year, and not 2021 or longer.

oh wow. Chevrolet's answer to the MX-5 Miata. This should have replaced the Saturn Sky after Saturn was terminated in 2010.

Does Cadillac REALLY need a UX competitor when the XT4 does nicely? NOW, a GLS competitor (based on Omega or its successor) would do very nicely. Besides, a RWD crossover (not a BOF Escalade) would be a good complement to the Cadillac family of SUVs.

One question: Why would anybody buy the UX200 when the XT4 is most certainly a better value if not a better CUV? Why pay the Lexus tax?

Not sure where you live, but in my area there are 5 2017 models and 1 2018 model, all under 35000 miles and all under $30K.

Which one would essentially replace the Impala's place in Chevy lore: Tahoe or Equinox? GM's greatest mistake was ditching RWD in all but the pickup trucks and replacing everything with FWD. Really sad, especially since the 300/Charger twins still sell.

It is highly suspicious that GM had not made $$$$ in Europe for several years but PSA Group saved Euros and made a profit off of the same Opel/Vauxhall in ONE YEAR! I do wonder what kind of accounting shenanigans GM was pulling all these years.

I am sure they are very good trucks, but the new Silverados are really ugly-looking in the face. The GMC Sierras look so much better. There is a reason that GM truck sales are trailing both FORD and RAM.
