  1. Out for testing: http://jalopnik.com/cars/spy-photos/2009-d...rome-288260.php
  2. So they should just refuse to sell the cars to fleet and park them in more airport parking lots? UAW plants have to keep cranking out cars if people are buying them or not. If they don't, they would be paying people the same wage just to sit around. The Big 3 needs more flexible plants and a smaller labor force to deal with their declined market share....due to unfair foreign competition. At least they are selling the cars.
  3. So they give those cars to fleets, or do they sell them?? The Charger is now a popular cop car.
  4. I'll give you the fact that all of the LX sales are down a bit for the month, and that the Magnum never "took off".....but you are dead wrong on the Charger. Charger sales are up 5,300 over last year, with over 72,000 units sold during the first 7 months of the year. The poor sales of the Magnum just show what the Germans refused to accept.....American do not like wagons!! They had a plan to make all of Dodge hatchbacks, wagons, and crossovers. Good thing they reconsidered. LX numbers are a bit down, as with all Chrysler, and probably other Big 3 numbers.....which is probably due to the economy and gas prices. This does not equal the buyers not liking RWD. The cars are also about to get a refresh, and with the lifetime warranty, it should boost sales back up to at least where they were....which was pretty good. Thanks to "Stratuscaster" on Allpar.com for the chart.
  5. It's Dropstars: http://www.dropstars.com/ Here are a couple screen caps for those who don't want to watch the video: It's not even a Limited, hence no fog lights.
  6. Well, it's an Eve rap video....but I can't believe there is a new Sebring in a rap video. Obviously Chrysler paid for this. I don't say that because I don't think the Sebring looks good, because it looks pretty sweet with the big rims in the video......I just can't believe a rapper put a $25K car in their video. The rims alone probably cost a quarter of that. Also, Eve is lookin pretty damn hot these days. The car is at the 1:55 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ1Y0U8hNYo
  7. Yeah really! Cerberus will probably just offer the lifetime warranty until they return to profitability, and then dump the company and the warranties on the open market to make a quick buck. The company might be hard to sell with all of those open lifetime warranties?
  8. Yeah, because they wouldn't want to sell as many as possible!?
  9. You have a 2005 or newer 2.7L with the sludging problem?....because if you read the snippet that I posted, it claims that the problem was fixed somewhere around 2002-2004. I was talking about the 2.7L being fine for use on LX and JS vehicles. I didn't say anything about the older vehicles (pre 2004). There's no doubt that some of the older 2.7L's probably experienced sludging, just like Toyota and Volkswagen. Toyota didn't really own up to the problem either. They can just afford to pay all of their problems away. Here is Toyota's official stance:
  10. 2.7L sludging is old news, and fixed. Here's a snippet from Allpar.com:
  11. I've never had any problems with the 300's rotors. However, I can't say the same for my previous 2002 Monte Carlo SS. That car had bad rotor pulsating that the dealer insisted on machining before they replaced them under warranty. So I told them "see you in a month or two"....and sure enough, the rotor pulsating was back, and then the dealer replaced the rotors under warranty. I quickly got used to the cruise control on the 300, but I think I preferred the location on the Monte better, which was on the steering wheel.
  12. The cruise control stalk was redesigned/relocated. It only takes a few days to get used to the smaller greenhouse. I actually can't stand cars with larger greenhouses anymore because I hate the sun in my eyes, and it heating up the car in the summer. My 300 Touring stays nice and cool with the small greenhouse and 35% tint on all of the windows.
  13. I don't think "once every five years" is too much to ask for a free inspection that will keep your lifetime warranty in tact. Every time you go to the dealership, they try and sell you something anyway.
  14. The engine was retuned for lower and midrange torque. The LX cars are heavier than the LH cars they replaced. This engine is pretty close to the base engine in the Buick Lucerne. All of Chrysler's V6 engines will be replaced by the Phoenix series of V6 engines in the not so distant future.

  16. AEV (American Expedition Vehicles) has been making the Brute for some time now. Maybe the Egyptian Army has been buying those. The Brute is a conversion built on the previous platform:
  17. Wow, you guys are all right. Nobody wants a car that looks as impressive as a Rolls or Bentley for under $50,000. The car was only canceled due to fuel economy concerns, not because they didn't think people would buy it due to it's looks.
  18. Wow, great comeback: "All test times vary" For $13K less, I'll either take my chances with the varying times, or buy the stage III kit for the SRT-4, have it installed (just because of all the money I saved not buying a Legacy type R), and still have enough cash to buy a used car for everyday driving if the stage III kit makes the SRT-4 too fast.
  19. I see your Subaru Spec R GTI....or whatever it's called, and raise you a $21K 2004 Dodge SRT-4 (neon). It cost's $13K less and runs better times: Not a hard game to play.
  20. Who said it was a premium car? It's Chrysler's large sedan that can be purchased for $24K, or can be loaded out as a C model for $35K. Prices and features are pretty similar to the Buick Lucerne, but you can get into a base 300 for $2,000 cheaper.....and the Lucerne can't be had with RWD or 345 HP, let alone 425 HP.
  21. I just see a chopped greenhouse with an extremely raked windshield (that probably won't all make it to production), and a little bit more of a coke-bottle form with a narrower grille. Other than that, not much more "original" than the Challenger concept.....even though both are fricken awesome!
  22. You'll be happy to know that there is a Charger SE for 2007 that comes equipped with a 2.7L V6 and 4 speed auto for $21K. The base 300 is now $24K. The "base Charger is better equipped than the base 300" statement no longer works.
  23. No American manufacturer builds a subcompact in America. It doesn't make sense unless their main market would be Asia, Europe, and South America.......and then why would you build it in the US?? And then forget Asia.....Japan won't buy an American car. The Japanese automakers sell subcompacts in the US, but they just import them from Japan....where a ton of people drive them. The only reason an American would buy a subcompact is if they lived in New York or Chicago, or gas was expensive.....and gas has been fairly cheap until recently. I like how people think the Japanese are so smart for having a subcompact ready to sell in the US just as gas prices skyrocket....but the fact is that they always had those subcompacts waiting in Japan, and they are now just releasing their large gas guzzling trucks and SUV's in the US.
  24. So one guy that wants a bigger V6 with a manual transmission.....and might buy one used down the road? No offense, but I think that's why Chrysler didn't target you as a potential customer.
